If the glasses (Stanley or Stan's wife, which is my theory) are one person, then the author has to be a completely different person. No one else on the wheel has more than one slot as far as we know
It's pretty much confirmed Stan is the author, I don't know, Stanley probably doesn't exist and if you watch the trailer for "not what he seems" you can see all of dipper's evidence pointing to Stan.
I’m not sure if anyone else noticed this, but in the animatic, the bus that wipes by the screen is called “fast dog,” whereas in the final it is called “speedy beaver!” I find that quite interesting! There’s little details like this that they changed in the final. It’s always cool to see the process
