I look at this and know I have a long way to go. Emptying oneself of old habits takes determination and patience. I see this and know it’s possible. Thank you.
l can see how Master G Xu move his internal energy with his mind intention, he could look soft and relaxed but his foundation is solid like a flexible piece of steel, something that is only attainable through years of dedicated practice Thanks and heartfelt blessings to Master G Xu🙏 l really appreciate sharing his knowledge and wisdom I've been studying and practicing Tai-Chi for almost 20 years, and is really hard to grasp the internal arts concepts, this videos are so so helpful
It's a good metaphor. The hip and torso are the handle, the arms and hands are the whips leather cord, and the feet are the arms and hands. But maybe a better metaphor is rubber band, or sling shot. It is difficult to articulate our understanding of jin, whether it's fa-jin or hua-jin or any of the innumerable others. I only teach and utilize the four. Hi Peter, it is pretty difficult to use words for something that needs to be felt…but let me try. It my look like a whipping action but it is not. Master Xu‘s movement is connected all the time, yet you cannot get a hold of it, like a ghost. When you touch him, when he hits you, it feels very hard on the outside and it hurts 😅 but it is constantly moving in the inside. So it is more dimensional than just a whipping action.
Thank you very much. Your question became the focus of a long discussion I had with Master Xu. I eventually turned that discussion into a post. You can get that post for free. He answers your question and a lot more. It's from today (7th of December). patreon.com/mastergeorgexu
I found the Tao and stopped practicing fighting about 5 or 6 years ago. I want to move to China and study Traditional Chinese Medicine and learn the language, too. I have some money saved up. I have some wealthy relatives who might help. Money is really a shame.
Master. With the highest respect. If only your English was better.....I read your Hsingi Journal interview decades ago thinking the same thing...where are.your senior students to clarify your thoughts....?

@@ragemydream Don't call senior teachers Master. It might sound funny to you but, it is insulting. Master is reserved for dead teachers, as a way to honor their memory. Any teacher who calls himself "master" or allows students to refer to him as such is a teacher I would stay away from. (Some of my students call me master and they are quickly chastised for it. It's not funny.) I will be making a video on what "Black Belt" and "master" mean in the next month or so, and will include my opinion on this subject. All the best! I got to decades ago attend seminar with him and his teacher. 40 years later still in awe❤

Thank you Master George! Less gong. More art👍
Question: Are your movements in any way similar to the movements of a whip? Relaxed, and very, very powerful when done right. Cheers

He should do that demonstration with a heavier stronger person.
At his workshops he’ll always demonstrate on the biggest and strongest person and it looks pretty much the same.

wow, could you be any ruder. show some respect to the Master.
Don't you wish you understood Mandarin? It's not that his English is bad, but our Chinese is nonexistent.
