I also remember a mistake in Range Game when they shown the price of the truck, Bob has given that truck to the contestant he didn’t do anything about it! Bob Barker is the GOAT!!! RIP Bob Barker, Johnny Olsen and Gene Wood!
These mistakes have gotten rarer over time; I think they catch them more quickly now so it doesn't impact gameplay. They also do more a thorough rehearsal now, I believe. This was absolutely the right decision because of standards and practices. Just a preventable mistake.
Maybe.. but also they do more editing today. The OG producers of Price would leave all the bloopers in. Today, producers delete, edit, and reshoot to make “perfect” TV, not realizing that bloopers make for great TV!
I feel that Bob's actions were overly generous. Everyone's happy that she won the car and gifts, but I feel that Bob could have gone through with resolving the mixup by explaining the third number was either a 5 or a 7 and the fourth number was a 5 or an 8 and given the contestant a chance to change those numbers and the first two if she wished before proceeding with the game's final decision.
I love Gene, but man he was wrong for TPiR. I think the speed threw him, like where he says "California remission". I also noticed that the board lowered a bit while Bob was talking
Was the price of the car $ x , x 7 x ? If the third digit was a 7, the prizes: the service set - $585 - and baker's rack - $575 - were, in fact, switched. There was no 7 in the service set.
Supposedly the last digit of the car was supposed to be 8, but the last prize they showed Pamela was $575, so it was impossible for her to choose the correct number. I'm sure they *could* have just rearranged the prizes and started over, but for whatever reason they decided it would be simpler to just give her the prize (because, remember, the game as presented was unwinnable) and move on with the show.
When I saw it mentioned as being an error, at first, I thought they had revealed a number too early. However, I don't believe I've seen the price tags with the wrong prizes before.
Aww how sweet a very big era and giving away all the gifts including the car

Someone got fired that day
"CalifornYER emissions"? Way to enunciate there, Gene!
Do you remember when a contestant got the $25K bonus on the wheel because Bob reset it to the $1, not 5¢?

Now thinking about it, it was probably a good thing because it looked like it was gonna be a dirty play because the Mustang is $7358

He sounds like McGruff the Crime Dog
I don't know who Mcgruff the Crime dog is.
What'd Bob say? 3:42
“Because it’s not worth this.”
I just wish that the car price would've been shown anyway, just out of curiosity.
I think it's $7358
@@edwardsimmons3190 Might've been, but not many temptation cars ended in 8. By this point, they mostly ended in 0 or 5.
how would it have changed the price of the car? tape was stopped

Holly is beautiful!
Wonder where she is today
