- We love Mljet Island, it's truly a treasure of an island in Croatia, and relatively still off the beaten path. Fin video o Mljetu. Sto se djece i putovanja tiče mi smo još dok je kćerka imala 6 mjeseci iz Skandinavije putovali za Hrvatsku i uvijek u autu je divno spavala. Naravno to podrazumijeva da se mi vozači naspavamo prije nego li krenemo na put. I dan danas iako ima puno vise god uvijek pita možemo li putovati noći 😊

I have a really important question and I need some help from some locals. I'm planning my trip to Croatia at the end of August and I don't know what to do. I want to go to a lot of the big islands near split but I would also love to have a car to have the freedom of going around as I want. Are there car ferries? Is public transport and taxis on the island good? What are the best islands? Thank you!
A possible suggestion would be to start from Split. Rent a car. From there you buy your ferry (Jadrolinija) tickets and explore the islands of your choice. Every island has some petrol stations, so you're safe in terms of filling up your car with gas.. Avoid tourists/instagram ripoffs. Keep in mind that in the high season some beaches require an entry fee, as well as the parking lots. The prices went through the roof everywhere in Croatia. Don't participate in that kind of price policy, just avoid it as much as you can and travel with common sense. Some islands are well "developed", some are less > e.g. Mljet. Always behave appropriately wherever you are. In Split you get fined 300 € if you urinate in public etc. The list is long. Educate yourself in advance before entering a foreign land. Last but not least, have fun!
@@LameFlame Thank you sooooooo much!!! I think we are going to get the car in split and then spend 3 days on Korcula and 2 on Hvar and then come back to split with the car to fly home.
@@Troffffy No problem. Korcula is my personal favourite. I recommend you to spend your nights in "Prižba" first row of the sea. Read the accommodation ratings on Google Maps. Hvar could be a bit bougie/pricey in terms of eating in restaurants. But overall, you made a good choice of the islands.
