It may seem elaborate but if you just focus on one step at a time, the final assembly is such a joy and the outcome is even more satisfying. Wow, just wow my grandma said that her mother used saucepans greased with lard and flour (butter was not very popular, nor very available at that time) to bake cakes and now i can undestand how she was able to do that. Thanks Bruno! I can never be dissapointed in you!🥰🥰

I made this cake following the recipe. It’s a great way to practice certain techniques. The diplomat cream is really delicious. Personally, I found the ladyfinger cake too be far too dry. You really have to soak the layers in the syrup- brushing them understates it.
