Alright for the million comments about it- I did not hear them say to execute maul. Hence why I said I thought they were freeing him. I was too emotional okay I missed stuff while talking
It’s cool, seeing Rex crying while trying to resist the inhibitor chip pretty much got everyone emotional
Dumb questions, but how the heck was Rex taken out so easily like that when all clones wear an insulated body suit that actually tanks the vacuum of space? Not to mention plastoid is literally just plastic, which also is not a conductor of electricity. How the heck does the force effect the ability to scan for a chip in rex's head? Where did ashoka come from exactly when they pulled that little intervention stunt with Rex? They sealed off the entire room and had no way in, and when there were also 0 vents from which Ashoka could pop out of, not even to rex's right (you flipped the screen). How were the clones ahead of Ashoka unable to get the doors open when the ones right behind her were chasing her the entire way? Ugh so many questions.v

@@LouiseJulie_ Well excuuuuussssseeeee me. I've simply been something of a star wars nerd since 8108. Plus it's stuff you tend to notice when characters use the power of off screen bs. Getting to maul is understandable somewhat, but Rex was a different story seeing as how the doors were shut and none of the droids ever reopened them seeing as all 3 were carrying Rex. I could've dropped a novel and a half on stuff that was confounding, so this was me taking a chill pill.
James McLaughlin I think it’s just one of the things where it’s just you need to accept that some stuff is just movie magic about how things can just happen, it’s just more enjoyable to ignore the obvious things that don’t make sense and just appreciate the really good stuff this episode had
The mix between Matt Landers voice and Heydan Christiansen when Anakin said “what have I done” gave me the absolute chills

Usually the order itself is heartbreaking, but when it's your best friend being forced to shoot you down while being brainwashed, then it has reached our limit of sadness.
We all knew what was about to happen, what this episode is about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, ludicrous thoughts? Perhaps, But no one said a word. Not on the clicking of Disney plus. Not when episode 11 came down. And not when we marched into this video. Not a word

That reminded me so much of when Ventress tried to mind trick him into contacting Anakin to find out where he was and he had the presence of mind to use his first name to tip him off that something wasn’t right. The fact that he was able to fight the programming even for a few seconds to give her that little clue is exactly why I admire and respect Rex so much as a character an why he is one of my all-time favourites in the Star Wars universe

"Fives is incredibly underrated" Yeah, his episodes for me are the saddest of the entire series. See him fight for the truth and get killed the way he was... Makes him one of the best characters in Star Wars.
This was his last act, to buy Commander Tano a few seconds. So she could save their brother, Rex.

this episode needs to win some kind of award-- It's amazing, seeing Rex try and resist the order and cry just broke my heart! I loved how they used audio clips from Revenge of the Sith and mixed it with Matt Landers voice just gives me the biggest chills!

No matter how the episode ended. When Rex started shaking and his helmet fell to the ground, it was over with me. Not to mention when I noticed a tear coming down from his eye while he pointed his pistols on Ashoka. Disneys knife hit right where it was supposed to hit.

I don't know... I feel like when he couldn't resist anymore because of his programming, he called him "Sidious" because that's the name they were programmed to say. That's what I think.

@@AngeloBarovierSD Yes, but I also mentioned the fact that no one would call the chancellor "lord" unless they already knew their true identity and title. We know only one kind of person in the star wars universe that uses that specific title: a Sith lord.

His face is half-hidden, his voice timbre is altered, and at this point his skin looks nothing like the man people know as Chancellor Palpatine. You've confused our audience knowledge with the in-story knowledge of characters.
And I think you've missed my point.
Yes, the clones are programmed to obey the command of Lord Sidious. Yes, the trigger phrase is uttered. Yes, the clones all respond similarly with compliance to their "Lord" but onscreen none of them except Rex calls him by name.
In-story, I'm saying it shows Rex connecting the conversation he'd been a part of and the triggering message. His brain connects that conversation (Sidious is a baddie) with the order which is an alarm bell for his brain.
And for the audience, his unique use of Sidious is the indicator of that fleeting awareness as intended by Filoni -- who has shown a great attention to detail. There is no reason for TCW to deviate from the precedent set by the movies except to denote some significance to Rex's use of "Sidious" in his acknowledgement of compliance.
@@themajesticspider-man6116 Actually the office of the Supreme Chancellor is referred to as a Lord. I can't come up with any example off-hand, but if you look back at past Clone Wars eps, Chancellor Palpatine had always been referred to as "Chancellor" or "My Lord".
this hit quite hard for me even know it was looming, its shows how strong Rex is compared to other clones, but having his brother Fives be the one to potentially save them him and Ashoka is also pretty hard hitting too, plus i'm really worried about Jesse now
I think what made Rex strong is his bond between Ahsoka and Anakin. Unlike other Jedi-Clone relationship like Obi and Cody who had a strong bond too but it's more like a professional bond between a general and a commander. As for Rex, Ahsoka and Anakin their bond goes deeper than professional, they treated each other like friends.
We knew it was coming. Despite that knowledge, we were not prepared. My god. I'm sitting in my chair feeling dead.
I legit cried when Rex was shaking and told Ahsoka to find Fives 🥺
Rex yelling Fives' name before losing control made me cry way more than it should have.

Great reaction. What a beautiful way to bring Fives back into the story - probably for the last time. Rex's falling helmet and shaking hands, yelling at his troopers that he would be the one to do it? This whole arc has been a masterclass in emotional subtlety. Also, Ahsoka and Rex's meditation to find the chip; is it Force based? Other than RoTS and the Kanan comic, I haven't consumed any Order 66 media where it might have been explained.

Maul was actually the other higher power if you think about it. It’s kinda sad too that we never see him find another Apprentice besides his brother.
one of the troopers maul killed in the hallway was named Ridge, he was one of the sole survivors of the 501st's Torrent Company during the battle of teth, Rex being the other survivor, he made it all the way to the end of the war only to be impaled by a wall

Was so much better this way with how it went down with Rex. You actually could see him crying when he pulled his guns on Ahsoka. Fight as he could, he couldn't over come it. He wasn't "better" than the other clones because of some silly reason. He was just lucky enough to develop a true friendship that allowed him to be saved through Ahsoka's and Five's actions.

I was LITERALLY heartbroken when Tup died and then FIVES!!!!! Ugh 😩 Kix is another one of my favorites . I found out in a comic book ( I think) that because KIX is a Medic he researched FIVES and REX reports. He also removed his chip HOWEVER I think before he could actually do anything I think Count Dooku froze him and that's where he still is?? ugh
Arguably the most tragic, heart-gripping depiction of Order 66 ever.
I had to revisit this video and the shot of Rex at 9:39 is the closest the clone likeness has looked to Temuera Morrison. There’s something about the lighting that brought out those features, and I love it
I did get emotinal, though even more so, while watching your reaction 😁With that said, it's episodes like this that make me wish the show didn't get cancelled originally, and that this season turned out to be a bit longer with more awesome episodes such as this

As shocking as the Prequel series may be to some, when you watch season 7 alongside episode 3 you start to realise just how good the movie actually is.
I love the little detail of having the audio from ep3 but then having Matt re-voice Anakin saying "What have i done?" as a way to connect the two
Last two episodes left me stunned and reflective. Ahsoka became my FAVORITE Star Wars Character due to Clone Wars and Rebels. We watched her grow up.
That scene where they're loading Maul onto the ship, with the music and long silences... It's like an alarm. Letting us know what's coming.

I have never really cried at many things in tv shows/movies but this episode made me tear up like a baby. The bridge scene when Ahsoka and Rex talk before Order 66 was given makes me cry every time. I’m actually wiping tears from my eyes as I’m writing this comment lmao.. But damn this episode was so perfect in every way.
Fives is insanely underrated and due to his actions he's THE noble definition of a Martyr 💯😢🤘

If you all didn't know what the name of Asoka's men were called, they were known as the 332nd Company which were in the 501st corps, the difference was the unique helmet design (there was probably some more details about them but that's all I got to say)

Watching another fan react this way is like watching the scene for the first time again, and it gives me the chills to see them react the way I did. One of the most powerful scenes in all of Star Wars.
I had just finished the episode before I saw the notification!
The music is what really had me on the edge of my seat! Was eerie and kept the tension VERY high. We all knew what was about to happen and we were waiting for it to happen and the music built up the moment. Then as it happened the music changed to the heart-breaking theme to show what was happening in Ahsoka as she had to defend herself from the troops she had been fighting beside just a moment ago, trying not to kill her friend.
And Rex had enough in him to give her a clue to save him and shed some light on what was happening.
Overall, another FANTASTIC episode and I am itching to watch the conclusion!
I got so emotional during this episode aswell dont worry haha I was just so surprised that she heard what was happening when anikin turned, my jaw was on the floor! And of course maul going nuts on the clones was great. Reminded me so much of the Vader scene in rouge one.
Rex had doubts since 5s. He suspected that there was truth to what 5s said.
And he tried to fight it, he tried so hard and spent his final free moments trying to help ashoka discover the truth.
Rex is amazing. He was the only clone who actually resisted order 66.
Coming back to this after the season 2 finale of 'The Mandalorian', I've come to realize that the new Era of Star Wars seems to have a "thing" for badass characters having badass hallway scene. xD
It's odd that I haven't seen anyone talk about that low tone that starts as they are leaving Mandalore. It's such a good way of raising suspense.
This whole episode just had such an intense atmosphere of impending doom. The lighting and the silence/little talking at the beginning just built up to the point where they just made us wait for order 66. Fucking brilliant

You mentioned Chopper did you happen to see him do a roll by in the background of Rogue One? their was also mention of General Sendula over the intercom. When the rebel fleet drops out of Hyperspace the Ghost is in the Armada.
Just imagine the stress we would have had if we didn’t know Ashoka and Rex made it out alive.
I think why Order 66 is so resonant for most people is because as humans, although I'm sure most of us would never admit or think about it, all have that switch in us. Most of us won't have considered it but we still know it instinctively. Partition of India, The Holocaust, Rwandan Genocide all events in very recent memory, the list could be made endless of stories where neighbor suddenly turned on neighbor, brother on brother, for no other real reason than a switch suddenly flipped.
See this is real Star Wars. The Star Wars that gets you emotional, these sequels could never do that. Great reaction btw, love the channel

It just proves one thing when the chip activates the clones are put into a zombie like trance still in control of their thoughts somewhat but not their actions.

Brooo I cried like five times during this episode. The relationship that Ashoka and Rex have is so strong. When the two started talking in the bridge area about how they respect each other, that got me crying so hard. Then when Rex turned on Ashoka, that was such a tear jerker for me as well. This was a great episode, probably the best out of Clone Wars. I can’t wait to see what the last episode has to bring.

I think fives saved both rex and ashoka. Ashoka was totally confused and the clones had her ;dead to sites. But because rex was able to stall for just a sec saving her life. And because of the video recording, she was able to save him. Seeing him crying i think he represented the fandom. We knew what was going to happen and being helpless to stop it.
I know most people love Rex the most (and with good reason) but Fives has always been my favorite clone. Gone but not forgotten brother!
