LOL! Tortoises are just cats with shells 😂 I love how they flock to you when you work and getting in your way is absolutely a requirement! So glad you found the little baby ☺️ Thanks for sharing with us!♥️
Another amazing glimpse into your backyard it always fascinates me how every animal you have knows you and all the little curly tails know it's a great place to live 🦎🦎🐊🐊🦖🐸🐸🐠🐠🕷️🕷️
Just came in from my long spell of yard work getting my hands dirty....and found you doing the same . And what a joy it is to uncurl my 75 year old aching back and see TORTOISES ......like Boba becoming more social , the Radiated's who always come to see you ...and then see you unearth a nest in the Coquina (a new word for me) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coquina. And so interesting how removal of the other Fly River turtles has led to a calming of ALL the other turtles in the pond !!! Phrase of the day for the smooth front Caiman eggs ... "I'm gonna incubate these until they stink ".
When you hear of an animal digging a burrow, 'tortoise' is not the first one that comes to mind. I didn't realize they were so good at digging until I stared watching Kenan.
Kenan, The Aldabras have made a pact with the Galaps to steal your truck and go joy-riding when you're not looking! They don't include the Sulcatas because those guys are too salty to party with!
As recently as 10-12 years ago hatchling Radiated Tortoises were as little as $350. each. I actually contemplated them although I purchased what (luckily for me) became a pair of Star Tortoises. Adult size was the main consideration. One can put a downpayment on a car for what mature specimens of both species fetch in the hobby these days. They’re listed on CITES and although it still occurs illegally wild collection is strictly prohibited. Nice to know Kenan’s are being captive bred. 👍🏻
The kamp is looking so fresh and green it’s hard to believe another year has almost passed, education about the eggs is always interesting. It was your destiny to find the little baby master Jedi and another adventure complete at the kamp 👍💯🖖
I know... There was one who was a master. She even came to the far side of the Big pond while Kenan was feeding on the near shore. It got to the water's edge, then decided that was not a good idea. That gave Kenan time to treck around the edge and return her to the proper pen. They are all explorers !
That was awesome kenan booba stating to understand that's not food. It be a finger. Your mail radiated is beautiful I like the male pink belly side neck u showed in the other video...kenan is a hard working man. And he got a little reward. Such a cute baby tortoise to find.
I have a question. I noticed you found a baby red foot hatched outside the incubator. Do you keep records if there is a difference in health and or development between naturally hatched and incubated eggs?
Hey Kenan, since there is no grass for the tortoises to graze on, should you give them hay? I've seen where they say tortoises are grazing animals & need either grass or you can substitute with hay.
Good question....I think we would have heard if they hatched. That was back when Lobo was running about and all I remember is that the crate was knocked loose...
I was wondering what type of turtle or tort could I have if any in eastern Oregon , John Day to be specific? I know I couldnt let them stay outside 365 but most of time I was h hoping
after you picked the eggs up , you turned your hand over, carrying the eggs upside down. are they not like the other ones where the embryo attaches to the upper side?
Hey Kenan u should look up Otis the box turtle I think u would really enjoy his videos. U talked about turtles wanting attention well Otis is probably the friendliest lil turtle ull ever see.
Certain seeds also require a period of cooling (called “stratification” in botany) -some to the point of freezing to properly germinate. I also once dug up a clutch of baby North American Wood Turtles as a kid turning the soil one spring. The adults would spent the spring & summer in our garden then were brought back to my uncle in PA who’d return them to their hibernaculum in the fall. Each spring for about 5 years he’d find the same pair while fly fishing and hold them until we visited. They are thought to be the smartest chelonian species. Try Ginkgo Biloba for those “brain farts.” I disobeyed my father and got old too... _It kinda sucks but the alternative isn’t much better..._ 😮 😂
Can a snapping turtle cohabitate with a red foot tortoise in a indoor in closure the size of a twin size mattress? Think of building one but wasn't sure if I could combine the 2.
A snapping turtle is an actual turtle and lives in the water redfoot tortoise lives on land and only goes in the water occasionally to drink or maybe have a little swim you got two different habitats you're talking about there they can't live together
I like these aldabras. They're like less-rough cousins of Galaps and Sulcatas. The aldabras don't seem to be inclined to head-butt Kenan OR tempted to eat him like the Galaps do half the time! Instead, the aldabras study Kenan, waiting to see when it's the right moment to overthrow Kenan and take over the UA-cam channel! They'll keep on Slinky as the Kamp Mascot. Besides, Slinks can't eat aldabras!
Avengerll, I know... the Aldabras are the Zen masters of giant tortoises. Nostradamus is always staying out of the fray, so calm and friendly ... but now , a little bit of me I swill always be wondering if he is indeed calm... or is he just biding his time until Kenan reaches my age of 75 !
Kennan I need your advice. I’m 55 going on 80😂. I have 15 acres of high desert land in Colorado. Rain fall is less than 3inches per year. I’m thinking about getting a pair of your giant tortoises to give them the run of the property. My concern is winter starts (temperature) in late/mid September all the way to late May early June. The other issue is I don’t have any children to pass them onto. My wife also loves the turtles and has the same concerns. We would like an honest opinion/answer.
I hesitate even getting a leopard which I wanted from many years I have six tortoises now and I'm going to be 80 this year and I think adding another tortoises just irresponsible since I don't have relatives to turn them to they will have to go to the local herpetological society and I know they will find homes through there
@KampKenan 8:34 If that hysterical radiated tortoise always comes over to be your buddy, why not lack down on the floor to place him on your chest to give him a hug and kiss? If you're not doing it because it's too dirty, why not bring the tortoise indoors for a thorough 360° 3-D shower with a Waterpik massaging shower head, and then lay down on your bed and place him on your chest (with your arms hugging him to protect him from falling off) and give cheek-to-cheek kisses and especially nose-to-nose boops (because tortoise) to each other?
I wonder if what Snake Discovery does with moldy eggs would work on other eggs. They clean the mold off and treat the surface with athlete's foot powder.
I need a Veterinary near Orlando Florida. Our adabra of 18 years. Is really sick cannot find one in Orlando if anyone can please with a phone number to vet ? !!
Still don't understand why you feed invasive lizards being a guy that lives in Florida and somewhat an environmentalist. I get they're here to stay like the the brown anoles, but helping them thrive on camera isn't the best idea. Personally, I feed all invasive lizards to my animals not only to help get rid of them, but also saves a bit of money. Now I'm going to neighbors yards to collect them cause they're pretty much gone. Lots of ppl watch ur vids, and showing them this only makes it worse. Pythons, iguanas, etc for example.
Glad I don't work with you... I would give you a bad time to let eggs from March the 10th so long in the incubator. Strang why there are such strange ways to put the date... that's why I use the month in writing for my American friends... otherwise it would be hard to meet... 😂 You would say I come 10/3 and for me that's March the 10th... or you would write I come to visit you 3/10, and I would wonder why you want to meet me such a long time in the futur as qe are March the 10 th... o dear... if I immigrate to usa or Canada, it would be very hard for me... dates are opposite, you work in inches and feet, you use Fahrenheit and I use celcius... how did you do that when you came to visit Belgium??? BTW will you come to Belgium one day? I am happy to let you see all the snakes and lizards and monitors that live here in the wild...😂😂😂 at least we have an adder and a skink but never saw one in my life in the wild... But last Sunday I saw a little lizard. It was 5 years ago I saw one in the wild... 😊 Anyhow. I would love to have some abras or Galapagos in my garden. That must be wonderful if you open your backdoor and see these big tortoises in your garden. Even a Greek or Russian tortoise is hard to keep. In winter they borrow but when it freezes to hard, they die... 😢 So no tortoises for me I am afraid... I don't understand that patrion stuff. I am in both, patreon and UA-cam... but can't find the patroon anywhere... anyhow... have a wonderful day. I am leaving for Portugal Thursday and hope to find a snake or lizard over there in the wild... ❤
good luck in Portugal. Also, I agree, the metric system is better! BTW patreon is pretty easy, just go to patreon.com/kampkenan. Thanks for all the support!
Hey kenan I got my first baby Aldabra from Sam! he’s very shy and hardly lets anyone look at him if we do he’ll stop Wtv he’s doing should I add another baby to maybe boost his ego and personality?
I love the that answer this I might jus do it you make me want one so bad. Also by the way it would be a honor to meet you one day kenan in the future we will colab! Mark my words brotha🙏💪
@8:52 -- I dub thee, "Grumpy (Radiated) Tortoise!"
Grumpy: "I HATE people!"
Grumpy (whisper): "Rub my back, Kenan!"
Some tortoises be like cats....

Your radiated tortoises are absolutely beautiful.
Thank you kindly
Always something to do at the Kamp!

Good show Kennan. I love your tortoises.
This, and Bama Bass by far my favorite UA-cam viewing. Appreciate the amount too content you show us
good morning kampers!! love waking up to a new kamp kenan video!! hope you all have a wonderful Sunday 🐢💚
Thank you! You too!
Kenan,
The Aldabras have made a pact with the Galaps to steal your truck and go joy-riding when you're not looking!
They don't include the Sulcatas because those guys are too salty to party with!
Great and informative video. Radiated Tortoises are on my bucket list as are Rhino Iguanas. Fingers crossed, this is a better year for you! 😊
I hope so too!
As recently as 10-12 years ago hatchling Radiated Tortoises were as little as $350. each. I actually contemplated them although I purchased what (luckily for me) became a pair of Star Tortoises. So true!
Thanks Kenan! Always good information.
You crack me up with the “later Timmy”!!😂😂😂😂
I’ll say the pond looks amazing brother . Can’t believe how clear it is
Name that lone, baby Red Foot Tortoise, "Lucky", since it is so lucky to be alive and well.
I love how devious the cherry heads and redfoots are escaping the pen.
I know... There was one who was a master. She even came to the far side of the Big pond while Kenan was feeding on the near shore. It got to the water's edge, then decided that was not a good idea. Yes! Thank you!
Awesome and informative video!
Beautiful calm video, perfect for chillingwithmy pets on this beautiful Sunday, thx Kenan 😊
Gotta love those radiated torts there so friendley and personable.
"Tortoises are creatures of habbit." TIL I'm a Tortoise 😮
:)
Congratulations about your baby.
Does anyone keep the curly tails? They are adorable.
Timmy is the fastest tortoise I've ever seen. I predict that he is going to become a huge personality at the Kamp, just like Marge and Slinky!
What happened to the eggs u put the milk crate over the top of?
Good question....I think we would have heard if they hatched. That was back when Lobo was running about and all I remember is that the crate was knocked loose...
Timmy is so sweet
Sure is:)
I was wondering what type of turtle or tort could I have if any in eastern Oregon , John Day to be specific? I know I couldnt let them stay outside 365 but most of time I was h hoping

Interested in buying a radiated hatchling at some point from you, where would i get in touch to do so?
Love it ❤

Hi mate are you still getting the two 50 pound Aldabra’s you said we’re getting donated a couple of months ago?
Nor a question worthy of a reply? Hm ok

Huh?😕🤡

How is the baby red foot doing?? And what are you gonna do with it lol
I am from Mauritius
A common snapping turtle it will be a baby one will you help me name it Kenan
Cerise is so big now.
I wonder if what Snake Discovery does with moldy eggs would work on other eggs. They clean the mold off and treat the surface with athlete's foot powder.
Interesting... ?

💜💚💜💚💜😍💜💚💜
❤
"Boba (Fett)?" No "Jango" or "Rex" aldabra?
Cab you send me a curly tail lizard Kenan

Pythons are prey for adult gators.
