I just did this watching your video and you did a great job with the wiring diagrams and explanation. Speaker wires are Y/ split on rear seat driver side by the front seatbelt for the driver on convertible. Thank you. 2020 Mustang GT Convertible CS.
No, it's not unfortunately... where's the ForScan to remove the bass rolloff for the rear speakers, alternatively where's the T-harness behind the ACM to fetch the good signals from the front speakers? The rear speakers in the base systems in any S550 Mustang are highpassed signals, means no real bass from them without heavy re-equalizing or raising gains beyond any recognition. Where's the correct connectors instead of the shitty positaps? Metra has adapters for the rear speakers that can be used to tie in without using Positaps which will basically destroy the stock wiring on the long run. Why a LOC at all if almost any amplifier imagineable has one built in these days including signal sensing for high-level input so no remote wire is needed? The Kicker CX 300.1 has a LOC built-in.
@@Cathulyou got any forms you can link? I installed the same amp and LOC i uses on mt 18 fusion with the sony sync 3 system and man this 23 mustang 9 speaker has given me so many issues. Following similar techniques i learned through the cars Ive worked on and these videos lol its such a mess
Going to attempt this on a 2013 Mustang. Looks like most of this should carry over? This video was amazing with the description and clarity. Thank you!!
Thank you for this video bro first time ever doing something like this and it worked badass ! I have no prior knowledge of any car audio but you made the instructions so clear and the diagram helped a bunch 🎉
If you use the battery bolt you need to run a metal brush through it to get rid of the powder coating those bolts have so you don't have voltage irregularities. Same thing with the ground by the rear seat. Cool video though.
The rear speakers wires are a quick access, but the lower door speakers is what you want in order to get a better signal. That amp's power terminal is only for fork lugs, or else you run risks of connection problems. I'd suggest using an LC2i as your loc bc you're still gonna have Bass roll-off .
All that is true, but for the purposes of my build, tapping the rear speakers was the most convenient and the trade off in audio quality isn’t huge for a sub imo. Additionally, fork lugs are definitely ideal but using the wire itself is fine as long as you’re careful to not let any strands touch the other ports.
Thank you!! This saved me money! The diagram was amazing and was super helpful as this was my first install on any car! I also had an issue with my OLC not working with the remote wire. Just a suggestion for others, you do not need to remove the backseat. The cables can be easily wedged inbetween the seat.

Question: what gauge posi taps do I need? Also What gauge wire(black wires shown in video) do I need to connect the loc to the rear speakers? Thank you anyways for the great video. And I hope to get a response.
Way more work than needs to be done. If you run the amps power wire through the driver side there is a huge grommet on the firewall just waiting for accessories. Plus you can hide all the wires making for a more professional factory like install. Also you dont get power for the rem wire from the amp. The amp power is wired directly to the battery. Running the rem wire like that isn't a switched power therefore it wont turn things off. Best thing to do would be get a fuse jumper and put it right into the radio fuse then run a rem wire. By using your backup cam wire your adding a place of potential failure for your cam. We wont even get into your wiring connections. But this is rookie 101.
I feel like he did a really good job explaining how to do things but he made his life a lot harder by running the power through the wheel well when he could just go through the little gap between the hood and the doors I feel the way that he did it is going to scare a lot of people off for doing it them self

If I'm running speaker wires all the way up front from a dsp amp, is it best to run them down separate sides (one along with power wire?) or both down the side with the RCA's, and all the way across the back of the dash?
Doing this on my 2015 gt premium and I can’t find the remote wire I have different colored wires, I have a solid blue which I tested and was not it and a half blue half white which was not it either

Aftermarket head units have RCA outputs for subwoofers, but factory head units don't, so instead of connecting to the back of a factory head unit, you tap into speaker wires and those signals are used as inputs for the subwoofer. Also, since you don't need to pull the head unit for the signal input, it's much easier to then tap into a wire near your woofer to get your "remote" input also.
