Out of all of the actors, who played Lola in this show, J is the best dancer out of all of the actors playing this iconic Broadway role. His kick ass dancing skills goes with his acting & vocal skills. Superb!
i saw brendon urie as charlie price and j as lola a few nights ago and j stole the show. he was so amazing and blew the audience away. he was definitely the crowd favorite even with BRENDON URIE as charlie.
Ghee is absolutely unreal - I honestly forgot there were other performers once or twice when I was there.... I only with they would record a version with him as Lola to be released
I just saw J. has Lola last weekend, what a great job. I just loved him. What a great job he does. His last song Hold me in your heart just blew me away. So powerful. I want to go back and see it again.
hahaha... i saw this cast at the end of august. i was in the worst mood going to the show because i was completely out of money for the month. then this song started, and the men in heels started walking down the stairs, i just started to laugh, and it was just too hard to stay in a bad mood.
I'd like to put it out there that this video does not do J. Harrison Ghee justice. He is almost comparable to Billy Porter and now is playing Lola on Broadway (not even the tour). It was breathtaking when I saw it.
I saw J in Vancouver with the touring company today and he was phenomenal. At first I was a bit conflicted because I'm so used to Billie, and although he wasn't as polished or graceful, he played Lola much younger and more fierce which I enjoyed. I was the first to stand during the ovation
okay im seriously disappointed in the crowd when i went we were cheering whenever lola's crew was dancing or coming onto stage and this crowd is so dead
This performance was amazing but u can tell it isn't the casts best, I saw the London cast a few days ago and was blown away and this number was one of my favourites but I felt this one didn't have the same energy, maybe just because I'm not seeing it live but idk.
is this up for trade i literally cannot find anyone to trade with i dont understand why people go to these shows and risk a law and record if its not being shared of they give hell about trading it i mean dam i have been turned down by like six diff trades its like what the hell the they flaunt them and you go to the comments section and ask for a specific song and your comment goes ignored, anyways yea if you would trade with me that would be awsome all the other ones on youtube turned their noses up
Lola was fantastic! But after seeing dozens of different companies - I gotta say, the queens in this felt like they were just performing on auto-pilot. Might have just been an “off” night - but they just felt void of energy, pizazz and interest. People keep commenting on the energy of the crowd, but as a performer (I’ve done theater for 30+ years), amazing audience energy can’t just be expected with fun material - you have to BRIBG IT. And they were super flat in the needed sparkle. But that’s just my personal opinion. I still thought Lola was fantastic - but she shouldn’t have to carry them!
Thank you for the correction. Finally someone that knows how to spell. I posted this clip two months ago today. After 10000+ views, nobody notified me of the typo. Thank you.
+BigMusicalFan I hope this isn't a lot to ask for, but it means so much that you are providing us with these phenomenal videos!! :) Could you upload Yael circle of life from the balcony, and the one of Mukeliswe as Rafiki -circle of life from your last recording. And if it's not too much I'd really love to see Yaels click story at Rafiki tree or He lives in you. I cannot thank you enough!!!!! ❤️💖💙 thanks so so much! :)
I saw this cast in DC last month and not only was it sold out but it was way better than when I saw it on Broadway! Especially the ensemble. In NY they were so tired and over it but the tour had a ton of energy.
Actually, it's not really related to how full the Al Hirschfeld is each night (and I think part of the reason why they're running at about 50% of potential gross right now is that it's been over three years since they opened and - successes like "The Lion King," "Wicked," and "The Book of Mormon" aside - that's quite a long time for a musical to run on Broadway; I think there are currently only three shows other than the ones I just named that have been open as long as "Kinky Boots" - "Jersey Boys" is doing worse, and "Phantom" and "Chicago" aren't doing a whole lot better) - this is the national touring cast, not the current Broadway cast. I just got home from seeing the national tour tonight (I saw it three times, the last time it was in town, so this wasn't my time to Kinky Boots), and I think part of the issue with energy in this video is the recording itself. It's a Tuesday night, but the whole cast had a ton of energy - plus, J. Harison Ghee is a terrific Lola, and Tiffany Engen is a engaging, endearing, quirky Lauren.

taylør mackenzie AGREE 100%
Camilla Ceuterick exclude Billy from that. He’s Mama Lola. J is fabulous though !!!! He is up there with Billy
Ghee is absolutely unreal - I honestly forgot there were other performers once or twice when I was there.... I only with they would record a version with him as Lola to be released
tay I love J so much 🙏
I just saw J. Harrison Ghee on 01/26/2017 in San Jose, CA as Lola. Spectacular performance. I was in tears of laughter and sadness!

Sam J sameee
just saw J Harrison Ghee with Brendon Urie last tuesday, and while i went for brendon, i ended up fucking loving Ghee as Lola
He (LOLA) did a fantastic job!
he was my Lola back in 2014, I knew he would make it big!
Countrydiva524 well he's coming to the Broadway production March 6th!
I saw J in Vancouver with the touring company today and he was phenomenal. At first I was a bit conflicted because I'm so used to Billie, and although he wasn't as polished or graceful, he played Lola much younger and more fierce which I enjoyed. I was the first to stand during the ovation
I love this clip. You did a great job on filming this too. I love how you almost get the whole stage also.
流石としか言えない歌唱力
I saw J. Harrison Ghee's closing night on tour and he was absolutely incredible!! I loved him!!
"Embrace it" riff! wowser!
okay im seriously disappointed in the crowd when i went we were cheering whenever lola's crew was dancing or coming onto stage and this crowd is so dead
Nina Schiller mine too!!!
I went back in jan and we were all doing cat calls and cheering and dancing it was amazing !!!!!!
I love an enthusiastic audience!!
Atleast in mt expirience its kinda rude to do stuff like that idk
@@djshfhdgc1679 I mean I've been in a show or two and enthusiastic audiences are so motivating

I miss Billy Porter an Wayne Brady :(
Aviva Gershman J Harrison is better than Wayne. He is quite comparable to Billy Porter.
Wayne is the bestttt tbh
Aviva Gershman WAYNE BRADY WAS IN THIS??
LIKE THE WHOSE LINE GUY??

This didn’t have the snap that the number usually has. Maybe it was the last show of the week and they were all tired.
this is one of my favorite numbers ever and this video bored me.
Was wondering if you had Soul of a Man from this. There are no videos of this song anywhere on the web apart from the OBC. Thanks :)

Do you have the whole show?
do you have his Hold Me In Your Heart?
Its Heel...not heal.

+BigMusicalFan omg sarcasm😉
No sarcasm. A genuine thank you.
I made the same mistake twice in the two different clips. Ouch

Please pick one and give me the show number according to the # on my Weebly site. Thanks
+BigMusicalFan Show number 4 and show number 13
That's why it's running at 60% capacity
This video is so disappointing, I've seen videos of the original cast and I've seen the London production 5 times and this cast are so half hearted
I saw this cast in DC last month and not only was it sold out but it was way better than when I saw it on Broadway! Especially the ensemble. In NY they were so tired and over it but the tour had a ton of energy.

Yes ! Mr. Ghee is awesome!
khymera915 Todrick (who I assume you saw) is the reason the show hasn't closed yet.
That’s bootleg Heather Chandler as Nicola!
ちょっと踊れなさすぎでしょ。
Yeah I like 2013 Broadway more then this one
Megan Edwards Same, I saw the preview of this song in The View and it was faaaar better
I got to see the 2013 cast in December of last year and they were awesome
the fact that lola's angels aren't even singing (and aren't even girls) is still so amazing to me 😂😂
lindsay martin I mean Lola’s angels are singing babe xx
West End & Broadway Musical Audios. but they're all guys and it's female voices
lindsay martin yeah but when they come down the stairs that’s them singing, also they also help with the harmonies x
they're not supposed to be girls lolz
Hey guys, check the kinky boots (broadway). Americans know how to do a great musical.
this is the american touring company
