Welcome to Rock Artist Reaction Day - Tuesday!! Artist Name - Uriah Heep Country - UK Genres: Hard Rock / Heavy Metal / Progressive Rock Years Active - 1969 - Present As suggested by one of my subscribers, this is my first time digging into the rabbit hole of Uriah Heep and oh my word, this 16-minute song is nothing less than a musical journey that comprises progressive, symphonic, and different blends of rock fused in one song. It's been over 50 years, and the band is still active with over 24+ studio albums and countless numbers of singles, live demos, etc. All I can say is that Uriah Heep is an ocean in itself. If you are interested in '60s / '70s rock bands, Uriah Heep should be on your playlist. Rock on !! Yes !!! At last , the prog rock classic of 1970 ! Paul Newton was in Bass, Mick Box Lead Guitar, Vocals David Byron, Ken Hensely - Key Boards, Lee Karslake- Drums. In this Album, I think Alex Napier played the drums in the album. He left after the recording. Paul Newton also left and then joined the New Zealander, Gary Thain the mighty bassist. You should listen to the Demons & Wizard, Magician's Birthday, Look At Yourself albums to know Gary Thain ! Man ! Gary died just 3-4 years later due to overdose. What a loss !
Late 60's and 70's were an unbelievable period of time for the progressive rockers. Many of the hard rock bands did lot of experiments and some did with orchestras. Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother is another example. Jethrotull introduced flute in their music.
@@AddieReacts Yeah very true ! From the very first time listening I got blown away and became a fan of Mick Box. This is my kind of guitar playing - blues rock with feelings. I am not that much into Neoclassical stuffs. I just play air guitar with my eyes closed and I can feel each and every note piercing through my heart.
Despite these quality albums and live performances this band is still considered as one of the most underrated rock bands all time along with Thin Lizzy, UFO and others. BTW, Ken Hensely also played guitar in certain tracks in different albums, apart from playing organs and keyboards and also providing backup vocals. I would say, he's next to Jon Lord of Deep Purple based on his talents & capabilities.
Boy ! your ending lines were epic ! I feel the same way. This song always takes me to a trip without Acid ! Ha ha ha ! You never can count how 16 minutes pass by while you deep dive into this epic track. The guitar solo blows me away and I do exactly the way you react or bit like Carlos Santana !
Sanatana omg !! Yeah there are so many different solos in this song. I have to listen to this one again to understand and grasp the technicalities of this band..they are too technical and very well structured.
Знакомство с Uriah Heep нужно было начинать с эпической "July Morning"! / The introduction to Uriah Heep should have started with the epic "July Morning"!
Great reaction to an amazing song. I must confess I'm not at all familiar with the metal, progressive and psychedelic musical scene in the Sub-continent. I'll check your channel to expand my horizon, thanks to you!
Thanks Sir. I am glad you enjoyed it. Uriah Heep is just too amazing. I still can't believe what I have witnessed actually. You can always check out bands from this part of the world. I have made many reactions for the musicians here. They are good too. Thanks a lot for this beautiful comment sir. 🙂🤘🎵
