I am an electrical engineer in making. In my 5th semester, I couldnt understand what my teacher lectured on line capacitance and inductance. So, Mr. Kothari came to help me via Nptel. From there I started to gather every book he wrote on Power Systems Analysis. He lecture like it is a cakewalk for anyone. I will thank him for these lectures and I will also acclaim NPTEL for providing these lectures where still inefficient teacher are present.
I nearly fainted on hearing the introductory music but I recovered to hear a very informative lecture. I'm still twitching from the shock of the xylophone and accompanying percussion but the section on load and generation balance (LG Balance) 33:40 was excellent.
People get salary from government and encourage private companies......'Sir is Saying "thanks to Private Companies". I hope IIT's to be privatised in the near future.......and would improve the country's future.....
I had doubt, if we increase active load in night how come diversity factor will increase as during night already diversity factor is high as less loads are active during that time.
because if we increase the load in night time also then we actually tends to straighten the load curve ...hence the P average slightly increases while P max decreases ...so diversity factor and load factor both increases ....... (correct me if i m wrong :) )
vikash tiwari yes you are right. The practical reason is that power companies subsidised electricity to those companies who decides not to operate during peak load period insted they will operate during night( low load period ). By doing so power companies during peak periods need not turn on "peak load plant"( fully ) and continue to operate by their "base load plant" and hence they save money( operating/building peak load plant cost extra money). Main objective is to shed peak load so that there is no need for build/ operate "peak load plant" beside "base load plant".
whats the title of the book? i need a book for this course too. These lectures r good and useful but they dont have a recommended text in the description that makes following and absorbing the knowledge entirely dependent on videos, It would be helpful to have a text. I hopw they put a text in the description of every course.
17 saal me tere baap ne power system ke fundamentals badal diye Kya ?? Course is meant to deliver fundamentals rather than statistic which are time dependent...private college ke chutiye 😂
This professor is on wikipedia.. Can't believe I am studying from such a great professor without any fees. :)
My feeling also like this
The beauty of progress ;-) Although it has disadvantages too.

i am watching this lecture in 2022. Great lecture sir which help us to visualize power system in proper way thanks a lot SIR and team NPTEL 😍🙏
I am awestruck by professor's lecture. very rare and informative.

This lecture gives practical feeling inside a veritable class.
teaching level: LEGEDARY!!
You sir are great ,this is what a teacher is

Great lecturer specially in remote and rural area std very informative support
fantastic work for the electrical engineering students
Thank you sir 🙏
This is 2020. And no we still are struggling to become a developed nation, infact far from a developed nation
I am going to study Power system in this sem. Can you tell me hoy these NPTEL lectures are?
It still is a very nice introduction. Key points (for me): 9:07 - 32:36
Good lecture.. Thank you very much sir.. I’m very happy to see your videos and so lucky to be tought by you sir ♥️
Great Lecture.
Really Helpful.
sir please upload remaining vedieos like based on voltage and frequency contol and faults , protection, stability circuit breakers please sir....

amazing...!!
Wow ...Nice lecture sir
Thanks nice explanation sir
good lecture
Please upload videos on power system protection
THANK YOU SO MUCH!🙏
For someone starting, would you guys recommend this series of lectures or the one by Professor A.K. Sinha. Thanks again for your help.
DP Kothari is better than AK sinha
thank you so much... its very helpful..
I havent found any professor who can lecture on Load flow studies and Power system stability, characteristics of transmission line so prfoundly.
Hola como teyamas
I am doing my bachelors . Should i study from these lectures?
no .. you will be lost . Use them only for assistance where you find difficulty in theory book .
Yes.
I'm disappointed to tell that 2020 isn't the year for india yet!
sir ager hindi mei bhi lecture video upload karege to accha rahega
shock!!more metal but clean place !!

sir i need a information about eletrical power generation in polytechnic 3 sem

sir how can we know who is using electricity during light load??

Electrical Power systems by D.B.Kotari
Intro
I'm from the future. In 2021, the USA had only about 12% of renewable energy 🤖
where is the audio ?
Which book was used by the Prof's students? Thanks in advance
DR. p KOTHARI . written by himself only

That is still a problem
It's sad when he said we could pass china by 2020 and it didn't happen
No 2020 we are not being going to be a developed country.😞
Repeat of the book..
