    Im 61. I had a black doll I believe her name is Susie. Susie's hair was a bit troubling to me simply because it was nothing like mine or most others I knew. Hers was straight while mine was bushy curly in its untamed state . I went great efforts to help Susie become her true self through lots of teasing, cutting and washing trying to form a bushy alfro and puffs.
    To the critical observer her hair was ruined, but to me though not perfect it at least resembled mine and how hers should have been.

    I'm white. My white sister had a black doll. When you pulled the string on her back, her eyes moved and she said..."if I look waaay up high, I can see the man on the moon."

    It’s hard to find black dolls when looking at times
