What is your feeding measurements? I have 47 (silver fox/Californians) I find myself giving in if they seem hungry when I try n measure their feed. I do 1/2cup high quality (show hutch 17) then Timothy hay all day. In the evening the rabbits seem like they are still hungry for their pellets. I also have an outside colony that I’ve specially grown vegetation that are good for them. I did do a fodder system but I’ve found it easier to just grow different stuff, so they can eat n it will grow back. I put them in there once a day while I clean their cages.
It is best to separate to have complete control over each rabbit's weight, but your resources ultimately determine the housing provided. When you first get the kits, it is a good idea to keep them together for a few days to let them settle in. You can then, every few days, separate them until they all have their own hole.
One more question your video was very helpful. This is my second year but I really wished I would have seen your video before hand. The judges judge on arch. I don’t understand that judging. Can you explain
That is tough. All judges are different and prefer different aspects of composition. Whether a rabbit is going to have deep loins (high arch) or not is all genetics. Raise the rabbits as healthy as you can and hope for the best. We were at an ARBA show years ago. We had a rabbit come in last in class in the first show. In the second show, a few hours later, a different judge said the same rabbit won best in class and would have been best in breed if had more maturity, would have been older, she was in the intermediate class. Crazy! There is a standard of perfection, but the man or Oman putting their hands on the rabbit is the final judge.
we use Rowe show feed ( or any food that is at least 16-18 percent crude protein), black hull sunflower seeds and whole oats. we mix 6 scoops feed to 1scoop oats and seeds. Start off giving each rabbit 1 cup. You want to feed 1 1/2 ounces per pound. We like to feed first thing in the morning since it's cooler out and we have found our rabbits eat better when they are not hot and miserable. We do give them treats such as hay, carrots, celery, and even cheerios. As long as you exercise your rabbits. Our county fair wants the rabbits to be between 4-6 pounds and we have never gone over. We have had to back them down to maybe a half cup of food instead of a cup.
4-H doesn't do that the people who buy them from the auction but 4-H is all about leadership and knowledge how's about you go relearn your facts before you go spreading false information on social media about an organization that you idiots know extremely nothing about
Great video and very informative. Great visual example on handling the kit. Thanks

Thanks foe the question. You can feed a cup a day, all at once, or half a cup in the morning and half a cup in the evening
Can you have all of the rabbits in one hutch or do you have to have them in their own hutches?

Thank you for all your help and advice
You're quite welcome.
Do you export rabbits?
We have moved out of state and do not presently have rabbits.
Can you advise on the feeding and timing
Good quality feed, once a day. Amount is based upon weight gains. Don't make it complicated. No treats or supplements.
