It's been made clear by his family that she could have married him and still remained "Christian", and then none of these expectations would have been placed on her. But she chose to promise him a Muslim wife, when she was all swept up in the honeymoon phase of the relationship, without any foresight or concerns for following through on her promises in the future. I'm not defending Mahmoud's behaviour, but Nicole isn't innocent in this picture either. Maybe she thought she could push his boundaries and persuade him to change his views, in which case she most definitely chose the wrong man. He's simply not going to be who she wants him to be and vice versa.
@@EmEm78 Nicole is completely uncompromising, she never says that she wants to learn, or that she wants to get used to wearing Islamic clothing, she just flat refuses and says she will NEVER wear hijab. Where does that leave the conversation? I expect there is a very good reason why Nicole is 38 years old and has never married.
