3:18 It's a good thing that you can use a better coaxial cable than the one from the box. RG6 dual shield is far superiror that RG59 or 3C2V cable. RG6, RG6U and RG11 is perfect for UHF frequencies (OTA, CATV and Satellite) while RG59 and 3C2V is good for VHF/FM signals but has losses on UHF frequencies that is why it is used mostly for CCTV, SPDIF digital audio and RCA/COMPONENT. Even for VHF/FM I recommend an RG6 cable.
@@NorthcoasterHobby When you test it on your FM radio, first test it on horizontal position and after, mount it vertical. If you want to receive all radio stations from you area and surrounding areas the FM antenna must always be vertical mounted so it is omnidirectional.
Last night a dried out GE enlightened antenna bar found it at Walmart for 40$ works great I would like to see you try it out on your channel.I all so will try out you're antenna pretty impressive for size .
Like you had said I would wonder what would happen in a high wind. I think the body of it would act like a sail. I suppose if it were mounted on the side of a house that would help protect it from the elements some.
Patrick, hope I’m not bothering you here. I mounted this unit to the outside wall, just under the eaves for my neighbor. It is secure and works well, except for when certain cars pass by. (I haven’t figured out what kind of cars yet, but they are not electric). I assume it’s the ignition wires, but most of the cars are very late model. The signal goes out briefly. Is there a filter for this? I’d ask on fb, but the group has quite a range of members, in terms of experience. Thank You!
@@joeprete7424 No bother at all! For TV antennas there is an FM filter for the middle of the spectrum , a 5G filter, which covers the top end of the spectrum and there is also a high pass filter which eliminates interference below Low-VHF channels. I’m not sure exactly what kind of interference you’re getting but you could look at that low pass filter possibly however it could also be interference from airplanes or any other number of things. Is the interference happening on a specific channel? Could even be harmonic interference from nearby ham or CB radio. Hi again, (sorry, I don’t know your first name). I’m helping a neighbor, and was wondering if the body of this unit is plastic. If so, are the mountings for the elements reinforced? I’m thinking this model would be better mounted against the outside wall. Thanks again!
@@joeprete7424 My first name is Patrick. The body of this antenna is plastic EHF elements are threaded and screw into the plastic body. This antenna would be mounted to a wall or someplace that is kind of sheltered, in my opinion. I would not put it in a place where it is subject to a lot of wind loading or would be hit by a tree, branches, etc.
The only good RCA TV antennas are the 80 and a 100 range forget about all the other RCA TV Antennas Those 80 and a 100 mile range are excellent on the UHF channels

Since it can receive VHF Low Band TV stations you should connect to an FM radio, the radio stations will sound very good.
Good point, I’ll have to try it with FM radio.

@@NorthcoasterHobby I also forgot to mention this antenna actually has a light on it . Believe it or not what will they come up with next.
I work at Walmart and did notice some customers buying this antenna. Some of the other Walmart's don't stock them or have the Clearstream models.

It did not work well for my VHF channels. Laying it almost flat helped but I think I need something wider.
@@SlackerU Probably need an antenna with even longer VHF elements.
I don't know if you did a video on the RCA 100 mile range antenna
@@James-cz4xv Those really big Yagi antennas? I think those are out of production now.
@NorthcoasterHobby still available on Amazon, ebay etc

@@joeprete7424 You’re welcome.
How do you mount it on a mast that high in the air? A ladder that big?
I attach it to the mast on the ground, then raise the mast.
The inside of that antenna is a round metal housing. The same shape as the outside of the antenna.
Not bad for $64 … Nobody mentions this one on the fb group!
Can you tell us more about your mast and its mount? (I messaged you on fb). Thank you!
I made a video about it!

This one seems to do a decent job, thought it is smaller:
