The Heartland Model is the correct model. It blows me away that some people still believe that this all took place in central & South America.

What blows me away is that the Meso guys have nearly beatified Nibley but never point out his Heartland favorable statements.

In my opinion it makes most sense when looking for the land that is most choice above all other lands, to look for a land that would be the most advantageous for a civilization to develop on. Afterall, God kept it hidden for a time so it wouldn't be overrun with people, leaving nowhere for the Nephites to settle. The United States is that land, the Eastern United States in particular, as shown in this UA-cam video:
How Geography Made the US Ridiculously OP by RealLifeLore
Edit: Basically, one reason God would insist on the destruction of any people ripened in wickedness, is the fact any people controlling that land could dominate the world. He only wants a righteous people to do that because it preserves more of the freedom of the world. Just a thought.

I think God has shown that He is willing to destroy any people over wickedness, wherever they are. Nineveh, for example, was destroyed about a century or century and a half after Jonah's time. It has been repeated all over the world. 😢

I believe the heartland model from the first time I heard of it. Then you explained it further by using the food seeds animals that were used in the Jewish holidays and ceremonies and the lack of it in the meso model. And the materials for their clothing like linen. P.S. it would have been nice to see the screen to see what you were talking about.

The FIRST thing you should in a discussion with someone, in order to have clarity, is define terms. Make sure that a word or phrase or place or whatever, means the same thing to both of you OR at least that the other understands what it mean to you.

Always introduce the Heartland Model gently. Never accuse M2C guys of not following the prophets. Never point out that the Meso model was made up by an apostate who didn't know there were multiple North American, pre-columbian civilizations and so thought the B of M couldn't have happened there. I know it's all true, but they get offended if you say it. 😢😮 So be kind. We're all still learning.😊❤
