PBS, how much does the H8 weigh fully loaded with the 3rd battery? Estimated new range in your Illinois hill country? I too noted how much better this bike performs with the CG forward. It added efficiency to the forward wheel motor. A thought may be to use windshield caulk to use as a gap filler along the battery mounts. It would serve to adhere and absorb some of the stresses. In my case, Mountain biking on unpaved roads, this might be helpful.
Give the battery case a shake and make sure the battery cell module isn't rattling in the case. An easy fix is drill some 1/8" holes in the middle of the case, install battery module, then inject silicone into the holes. Only thing I haven't solved is how to separate the case from the module later.
That is an idea. To those reading this, make sure you take the cell pack out of the case before drilling, otherwise it will be a bad day. The only batteries of mine that rattle is when I have it mounted on the back, in the middle they do fine. I think it is the angle or something. I hate to hear it rattling so I might try your suggestion. I also thought of a slab of 1/4 inch rubber inbetween, then close up the case. But I guess each battery will be different.
It is pretty easy to do. The hardest part is figuring out where to mount the battery and the combiner. If you do like in this video on the bar with the kit, it is pretty simple. If you have any questions, let me know and I will help all I can : )
The H8 is my mileage champ right now, but the Jumbo is closing in and will pass it before you know it. I have been riding mostly the Jumbo, so I guess you can say it is my favorite. I really like the rear suspension and the button for the AWD. The range with the dual batteries is greater than the H8 and it was much easier for me to put a 3rd and 4th battery on it. I have space for a 5th, but my butt can not handle that right now LOL. As you can from this video I did put a 3rd on the H8 and it went well. So I would say if you need the extra range, the Jumbo is the way to go. There is a link in the description if you want to check it out. : )

I am not sure on the exact weight, but I think each battery is about 9 lbs. It handles it real well : )
Great install! More battery the better! Especially for us in rural areas.
We agree! I no longer have an ebike, but I have a big battery with wheels. LOL
nice might not need a third, but there ya go
better to have too much than you need. :)
Even if I use only the two, it rides better in the middle : )

@@papablueshirt To those who do not remove the battery module before drilling holes:
This is a Darwin Test
I was just looking at a new battery for this on ebay thinking, I wonder if I can add a second battery. Thanks!

@@papablueshirt awesome, I just ordered everything I need. There's still one more battery on ebay. Got me considering the 3rd battery!
You can never have enough ; ) Takes away that range anxiety.
I'm curious, where are you sourcing your components from?
Mostly Amazon, I think most of the links are in the description : )
Which Philodo is your favorite? What's your favorite ebike in general? I looking to buy a new one. I use Amazon as well. Thanks!

How's your electric Bill going 😃
It is actually pretty cheap. About .09 per battery. : )
