Thank you for demonstrating these ideas ! I have only been sewing since 2020 , all self taught via YT. I appreciate this video , I can definitely use your tips . 👍👍👍 Will be trying them out in future sewing projects .
I appreciate greatly your video- tutorials. I wish you would discontinue the music and give us a voice .. to simply say.. What you are going to show us; when it can be used, and how to do it. Many thanks
Great tips for absolute beginners but the title was a bit misleading. Hoping to learn something new but really these are just commonly used techniques.
@@violetvotes2024 couple of reasons … can damage your machine (old mechanical machines are OK but newer electronic machines can go haywire!). Also, the chances of breaking a pin or the needle are pretty high. Half the needle may go down into the machine - causing damage to the bobbin assembly. Or, worst case, the broken needle/pin may fly up into your face or eye. Carefully remove the pin before sewing over it - without tugging /distorting the fabric. Takes some practice but it will become second nature.
@@alisoneichler4257 Good advice. My machine sews over the pins (it's electronic) but I use eye protection for the reasons you mentioned. Some fabrics are hard to sew without slipping from under the sewing foot and it's easier/quicker with pins.

@@natasa2882 Ah! I can see that being used on the hem of narrow trousers or pedal pushers (showing my age!!!) I'd probably want to reinforce where the split meets the main seam.
I’ve been sewing a long time too but that way of doing the hem vent is new to me! So easy!
Lovely work. Thank you. Great video. Easy to follow.
Slučajno sam vidjela tvoj rad.Zadivljeno sam gledala i uživala Zato sam se preplatila.Hvala vam na djelu .Odušljevljena sam kako šivate.❤❤❤

I wouldn’t exactly say “outdated “ as these are the back bone of today’s projects.
Extraordinary

I’m 69 year old and these are techniques I’ve been using for a good 50 years, nothing new at all.
But to a newbie like me, it's very informative
Q preciosa esa makina !!q marca es?!

All the sawing videos have it ,people talk some of us use hearing to memorize new information and get distracted by music
I agree. I had to turn down the volume while watching.
I couldn't see the object of the small cut on the first hack😊
What are they for?
It’s not advisable to stitch over pins as this can damage the needle and consequently your fabric too
Beginning sewists - Do NOT sew over pins.
Why?

Exactly! Whenever I see someone do it I personally cringe

Sorry, what is this supposed to be?
The first thing - it can be a trouser hem
@@natasa2882 Ah! I can see that being used on the hem of narrow trousers or pedal pushers (showing my age!!!) I'd probably want to reinforce where the split meets the main seam.
@@ameliagfawkes512 indeed, the reinforced seem makes sense.
😅
There is only one shortcoming, I did not see your face❤

No 3 - better to finish your seam properly first. Weren't 4 and 5 the same "tip"?
To all those nasty, cynical people, for goodness sake and you nothing better to do ??!!!!!!

Nothing new here. I wish you would do voiceover instead of music.
Wasn’t “taught” on this video either.
Sorry but nothing new for me in this video.
