Thanks, Michael, and keep up the great work.

When I'm old I don't want to have to leave the country for one day just to renew the visa. I also don't want to get married. So what are the conditions once you get permanent residency but don't want to get citizenship since unfortunately in 2006 Australia stopped allowing dual citizenship.

I'm a 28-year-old seeking to create an LLC with my girlfriend to create a real estate company (for acquiring, renting out and eventually selling property). We want to have various approaches to real estate (REIT stocks, international holdings and Agricultural) and have this as another revenue stream for us as we get older. We would also like this as a Plan B residency door (using a Montenegrin company) while living in Georgia (essentially 1-3 Months in Montenegro; yes I know we'd have to reapply for a permit) but i've been advised I have some structural problems here. Is it really just if you intend to live there for most of the year OR a side company with limited expansion?
Is it because there's too much of a proposed load for Montenegrin banks to be the primary real estate company with international investments? I also saw that one may need a place to stay for a residency (not much sense if I'm in Georgia most of the time). What's a good offshore jurisdiction for a real estate company that may have immigration benefits? We will start small but hope to build over many years.
    Thanks Mike!! Fellow Canuck here

Would it be feasible to just save up your money and then come there on temporary residence and keep yourself afloat on that? I know the local job market is poor, so if you were just coasting on savings and/or possibly working some remote online job, would that be sustainable? I live in the US and hate it here and would love to just hoard a huge pile of money for a few years then use it to cruise onto permanent residency over there since the money will be worth more in their country.

      1. I'd say that the local job market is very poor, and there are not enough good jobs for locals let alone foreigners. Even if you get a job locally it will pay very little. A sector that might be interesting to foreigners with a little bit of local language is the tourism industry.
      2. No, generally they are not free for foreigners, and most of them teach in the local language so you'd need to be decent at it before enrolling.
      3. Yes, there are. More and more of them keep popping up every year so this is good. :)
      4. You can get a permanent residency after extending your temporary one each year, for 5 years. I think that you shouldn't leave the country for more than 30 days each given year, but I'm not sure that they actually enforce this rule.
      5. Yes this can work!
