His Full name is actually Joseph Armand Bombardier, not Bombard. His first invention was the snowmobile back in the 1936, the rest is History

wow! i can't imagine flying private in this jet from NY to HKG! It must be scary since most of these planes used in commercial routes are regional airlines... Short distance, under 1000 miles! But this plane is flying half way around the world!
Commercial aircraft cruise at 38,000 ft, this will fly at 47,000 to 51,000 ft, and the only air traffic it'll encounter are its own kind.
@@Puzzoozoo I was more so referring to flying distance in such a small aircraft. I know they make an ER variant. But I would never guess the ER version can make it from NY to HKG!

Though, the content was superlative.
Why not consider fixing a third engine at the rear top to reach Mac 1 and above speed to save flying hours. ?
The increased cost is not worth the time saved. More fuel will be burned, the aircraft parts will wear faster, and engine maintenance is extremely expensive. A third engine would change the center of gravity, which means a redesign of the placement of the wings on the fuselage. The aircraft would have to be recertified. It's not worth all the trouble.

Is it really necessary to fly these airplanes around all the time... wasting money and fuel just to take rich people to vacation spots, "business" trips and blah dee dah? So funny. @@Dave-nh2kj Yes it is. Oddly enough, the long range is more of a marketing ploy. Billionaires wont stay on an airplane for 17 hrs no matter how plush. The average mission length is less than 5 hours
anything over 8 hours require an extra set of crew, with just one crew rest area, I don't know how its possible for this aircraft to fly 17 hours without the spare crew taking up passenger space.

Bombardier indeed received a total of C$372.5M loan from the federal for both the CSeries and the Global 7500 programs. (Not sure how much for each).
This loan is to be repaid via preset royalties with each aircraft delivered.
I wish (by example) the auto bailed out would have been set up that way. (Where we actually lost Billions).

@@erictremblay4940 Yes I totally understand that, however after the financial crash Obama who had just been elected faced a serious choice..Things could have been done better but at the time Bush junior washed his hands of responsibility and considering the options Obama took he saved the US economy..I’m sure Canada had some of its own problems, sometimes in crisis decisions that sound bad at the probably work out just fine..When you consider that Trump in his one term presidency added 8.5 trillion to the deficit 🤦🏻♂️ of that 3.6 trillion went to the top 4% wealthiest people in America..Covid relief added a lot of the rest…
Don’t feel bad… Our pharmaceutical industry subsidizes the rest of the World, and we subsidize them… What the hell?
And that subsidy helps Canada be a world class producer of jets. Only America's Gulfstream can compete with it.
