Apologies, in our discussion we mention the use of command that are not usable in Age of Sigmar Spearhead. While such information isn’t usable in Spearhead it’ll be great nowledge for you regular games of Age of Sigmar.
I was wondering how they would balance Yndrasta for this as in my opinion she is the strongest model in all the spearhead boxes. They reduced her passives, took away one of her melee profiles, and made it to where she can only play in half of the game. Can't wait to see the others.
drive them back looks like a much better enhancement for this spearhead, after a couple of games the 6+ ward has a very marginal effect and since it happens only on objectives you control it's hard to get. The strenght of drive them back is the fact that you can basically have two pile in phases, usually your vanquishers will trike hard vs infantry and some hordes units can prevent you from getting models on it by simply standing outside of it and forcing you out. Drive them back combo with the vexxilor ability allow you to sneak 4 or more OC on the primaries after you deal damage (and you will if vanquishers connect with anything infantry). As per yndrasta enhancement i found out that the extra +1 to hit is clutch to swing the battle in your favor if you drop it the moment yndrasta and her boys drop into play. Dazzling radiance is only valuable if you're not getting alpha strike round one or two by very aggressive players, your' likely not getting any vanquishers alive by this moment if they got targetted so it's a bit of a swingy one and heavily depends on the type of army you face and your opponent plans
interesting that Yndrasta's spear doesn't have a melee profile in Spearhead. I thought that they said the weapon profiles would be the same on units in spear head & match play.
Seems like an unfair box since it includes an Epic Hero Btw, is the Annihilator get folded into one datasheet or they still differentiate by weapons configuration?
@@CinderfallGaming sounds unfair to make them as reinforcement in their own army, at least it could be : in hero phase roll d3 and add the turn number, on 5+ Annihilator/Yndastra can come in on the board
@@RevanR it’s what makes this spearhead unique. All the spearheads have their little quirks, and a defensive force with reserves to come later is what you’re looking at here.

I love so many of the AoS3 rules & abilities get used in Spearhead! Really neat touches.

I think that was just speculation. There’s a few other examples of where the spearhead weapons were obviously nerfed for the smaller battlefields.

It is worth remembering that Yndrasta will miss half the game as do the Annihilator’s.

@@RevanR It's also worth noting there are only 4 rounds meaning she's out for half the battle.
Annihilators have 2 Warscrolls. Their Warcom article notes the Grandhammers are different
