Honeymoon Suite never received the global recognition they rightfully deserved. Competing against Rush and others in the 1980's and 90's could not have been an easy task for any band. I liked Rush but I preferred Honeymoon Suite over all others then and now 2021, call it Bad Attitude from a 35 year long fan.😎
During a March blizzard in 2004 or 2005 I saw Honeymoon Suite play to a room of ~30 people in a 500+ capacity venue. They killed it, note for note perfect. Their roadie put in more effort than most touring musicians do. It's funny to say but looking back now that concert influenced me a great deal as a musician. Seasoned professionals.
Awe inspiring band! They are fantastic live. There has always been so much talent in Honeymoon Suite, they were never hard to look at either.☺ Derry their lead guitarists looked a bit like Peter Frampton and is a great song writer and musician, the keyboardist here is the amazingly talented Rob Preuss, then we have their lead singer Johnnie Dee, who sings well and plays the guitar well, and was always "easy to look at", Dave Betts -drums and Gary Lalonde-bass player-both talented. They should have been globally huge! Great Canadian band!
These were the support act for the mighty SAXON! I recorded it off the tv back in the day, This was at The Town and Country club not Camden! On the telly they edited it to show the headline act first and the support followed! Never heard of 'em before or after that! No single or anything that I know of! Just randomly thought of them and put it into the search engine! Not seen this video in nearly 30 years!! Good band shame they didn't get a decent break!
Saw them in London, Ontario in an all weekend outdoor concert in 2004 or 2005 where they headlined with the likes of Alice Cooper, Steppenwolf, April Wine ... it was a benefit concert for a little girl with a rare form of cancer. If I am not mistaken, they are from western Ontario. They were pretty big in North America back in the "Glam Rock" days of the 1980s. Their hit singles were "New Girl Now", "Feel it Again", "Wave Babies"
TheDarkest Knight, true. I am from Niagara Falls,NY across the river from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. I love this band, Honeymoon Suite. Their lead singer Johnnie Dee was in a band called, "Lennex"(I hope I spelled it right.) Back in the '70's, he was maybe 14 or so when they started. I got a look at him in the latter '70's, I was 10 or 11 and was really talented then; not to mention hot! I didn't see him again until HMS's "New Girl Now" video hit MTV, he had become an improved talent and he physically got HOTTER! Didn't think it was possible. Amazon carries their music.
My dad was born in Niagara Falls, NY in 1911, Lori, but he lived in the Quinte area of SE Ontario most of his life. From time to time we moved across the 49th. Which helped this little Canuck get a good education and experience the best of what the USA had to offer. ;-) Wave Babies was filmed near Picton, Ontario and shows the Glenora Ferry, Sandbanks etc. I have now moved to the sub-arctic some 800 kms. due north. ;-) :-p
At their peak here. Band sounds great overall. Met Kerry the guitarist years ago. Nice guy (Canadian, eh). Shame they never got bigger. Thanks for the memories.
Lisa, That must have been awesome! I graduated in 85 and started listening to Honeymoon Suite in 1986-87? but unfortunately was never able to see them play live. Thank God for youtube! Here it is 2021 and they are still one of my favorite bands of all time.
Johnnie Dee and Rob Preuss in the same band. Too much handsome and sexy in one place 🔥. Not to mention their musical gifts would be wrong, both are talented musicians too.
Sean Moloney, yes he plays piano for his fans on Facebook. I have had the good luck and privilege to be one of his Facebook (fans) friends to hear him play. Rob Preuss is very cool.
Many thanks for the upload,HMS are still a fantastic live band

2021 still in love with this band. Huge crush on lead singer lol
Ha ha. Johnny has that half Italian, half Canadian look.
Johnny's vocals at their peak here.
I saw them in my home town on this tour! Loved these guys from the 1st album, and will forever!

Wow Bad Attitude live !! Great sound and voice
I would have killed to be there....but then again, I would have only been 9 years old. Love these guys!!
Great band and great show. It's from 1988, a BBC show called Live from London. Saxon were headlining, as part of their Destiny Tour. There ya go!
As it was from Thames TV it will have been an ITV shown, not BBC
Greatest thing to come out of Canada!!
I think a few Rush fans would disagree but ye they good !!!
D Beaton - lol...Try the Guess Who, you might have heard of them..

Rush, Triumph, Saga, April wine, Max Webster, Santers, and a few other bands are ahead of HS. They are still good!
D Beaton The Payolas were the best band to come out of America's hat.
the two kids in the front having a blast at 5:17 is gonna be me when i find my time traveler

TheDarkest Knight You never heard of HMS before this?
They had a lot of radio airplay here in Canada in the 80's and still tour.

Canada had some really good AOR/Hard Rock bands.
Absolutely! These guys, Coney Hatch, Santers, Helix, etc.....
@@RMLaxCoach Rock You
Check out Haywire. They were an awesome Canadian band in the 80s
It is the Town and Country Club , not Camden Palace. It says so in the titles.
Muito bom rock pra nunca desistir.
Awesome footage, recently found out about HMS... love there stuff..
Can we get more!!!!!!! wow
recall this on UK TV ..... late night show.... awesome
At their peak here. Band sounds great overall. Met Kerry the guitarist years ago. Nice guy (Canadian, eh). Shame they never got bigger. Thanks for the memories.
Kerry?
This was the first band I saw in concert when they opened for Heart back in 84 or might have been 85.
‘85!!!! Somewhere in Florida for me!! 😎😎😎😎
@@jean-charlesmarchionni2676 Was Pensacola for me as I'm from Mobile.
Great band saw them several times at misty Moon Halifax, Charlottetown Music festival and in St. Johns NFLD. at George street festival in September
They played at my high school in 1984.

Honeymoon Suite where supporting Saxon at the town and country club June 22nd 1988
This reminds me of the late '80s.
Derry so cutie 🥰
When the crowd hands clapping is louder than the band playing on stage ooouf.

LORI MITCHELL JONES Rob is such an amazing guy too!

LORI MITCHELL JONES Me too! He and I talk about his years with HMS every so often. Great guy!
Sean Moloney, these videos are a way to look back and listen to the music that we loved and still do.
That's tough sledding for the band here. Burning in Love, by rights, a solid song, the audience in general, was having none of it. Ha Wow
Said it right
