I immediately made a connection between that conversation in the game and the relationship between OneShot and Undertale. OneShot came out first but didn't garner the massive attention that Undertale did, so people call it "that undertale-ish game" and stuff like that. Makes me a little sad, but at at the same time I like that OneShot's fanbase is small and able to appreciate the game in peace.
yeah i dont get it, i mean they were released only a year apart. you'd think as great as OneShot is it would have gotten at least a little more attention if not a lot more. i love Undertale but i must admit, there are some things OneShot just did better in my opinion, it deserves far more recognition. oh well, at least we dont have an "anti fanbase" yelling at us in the OneShot fandom lol, its kinda peaceful here. im just sad there's not more fan works like comic dubs and animations.
I love the library. I felt so cozy in there, speaking with people, reading books, you even forget that it's the end of the world for a moment. I felt so calm during this part of the game, that when I kinda blocked on something I just went back in there to chill and forget about my problems for a minute.
Imagine this song playing while you're cuddled up in some blankets in your pajamas by a fireplace, hot cup of tea, cocoa or coffee in your hand, as soft white snow falls outside your small cozy house.
i played this game a few days ago, and as a first experience, this game was absolutely beautiful, i'll probably never experience something like this again.
most of the time I'd say "just play it again lol" but this is a game that, even in the steam version, seems to implore for you to only play it once so yeah, this is a one time experience
@@mongodroid4842 well actually it depends on what you call playing it once means, because there’s an actual way of canonically continuing after you think you’ve finished what seems to be the whole game (I won’t spoil anything else)
Did you play outcore? Because if not play it. Its not like oneshot, but it is straight on your computer and funny, not depressive like oneshot. And also its completelly free on steam
Same... after just finishing this game, it’s impossible to get it off my mind. I always just end up returning to these tracks and reminiscing... Wish we could get some sort of after story to see how the World Machine is doing or maybe get a glimpse into Niko’s life.
I've always had a soft spot for libraries as locations in pretty much any game... The Great Library in OFF, the library in OMORI, and the library in this game. So homey, so much potential for worldbuilding and lore, always brimming with emotions... maybe I should just be going to the library more often in real life lol
Coffee, truly, I feel the joy of reading. As if a safe haven out of everywhere else, a calm library's atmosphere was the thing to cure all the doubts I ever had.
This is by far one of my favorite game themes. it's so calm and nice to listen to. also, libraries are the best. i remember lingering around in the library just to listen to the track
This song is my favourite in the entire ost simply because it reminds me of my childhood of when i just stayed at my library after school as a kid just getting lost in stories. This song just invokes that feeling of diving into worlds and immersing yourself in stories. This song just sounds like a good book is what I’m saying
i was replaying the game trough niko's memories. i forgot about niko in the library. i am so sorry niko, ill probably never come back. edit: even if it's just the world machine replaying stuff, still sorry. i still haven't loaded into OneShot since.
Finished One Shot a couple of weeks ago and it's such a good game! I fell in love with its world and the characters. I just wish it was longer!!! This is my favorite OST in the game (aside from Alula) it helps me relax, calm down, and it's good for studying. ❤ I'll miss Niko

Nice work on making the extended ver! I happen to listen to this while i'm studying. Is there any chance you could create a complete playlist of all the official tracks from the original game?

The music is so beautiful and sad... I love music so much. I play the trumpet, and wish I had noted for this. But it would be way too loud even with a mute... Wonder what instruments would work for this?
All the intruments in this song are piano (of course), drumset (at least hi-hat, and maybe a ride. I'm not so good at identifying symbols. Also bass and snare of course.), and what sounds like a triangle
this gives me the vibes of strolling in a library wait a minute🤔 edit: absolutely cringe joke aside this song has a very chill vibe to it, it also personally sounds more relaxing at 75 speed
i love undertale for its humor and music, and the ending/routes are great. i can agree that oneshot is better because of the way the story is told. its completely flawless and the player actually feels connected to niko
@@dirtspritestuff5850 I think the reason why OneShot is better than Undertale is because of it’s uniqueness. It’s the only game I’ve ever played that doesn’t have a 4th wall, instead making the real world part of the game, which includes you. Every inch of OneShot feels alive because of how down-to-earth each conversation gets. Every single character is believable, from the main character to the NPCs. There are no stereotypes or character tropes; each character is given realistic dialogue for their particular life. It lets the player develop their own understanding for how characters operate, even if they only have 3 lines of dialogue. It means that the game can feel way more fleshed out than it could through needless exposition.
@@heybro8845 I never thought about that. Undertale definitely has a lot more humor in its more random text. It still has dialogue that centers around what the character you're taking to is feeling (smiling orange demon guy in Snowdin for example talks about how everyone smiles despite the desperate times), but nearly all of OneShot's npcs feel like they have their own fully-fledged lives, which is part of what the game tries to tell you. Also, look up the definition of "Sonder."
The dialogue with the author who was accused of being a copycat from The Author was so sad.
I relate to his exact problem 100%. There is nothing worse than being blamed for copying something you've been doing for years.
