As a Filipino, I am familiar with Torque brand, but not so much popular back then, this is the first time I saw this phone, thank you for sharing Smoorez.
Torque was one in a sea of Filipino cellphone startups in the 2010s where it isn't uncommon to see stalls in malls hawking rebadged welcome phones, an egregious example of which is O+ who claims to be a "USA" brand but appears to have next to no presence outside of the Philippines. IIRC they hired a couple or so celebrities to shill for the brand but the oversaturation of these bargain bin brands seem to have costed the likes of Torque as more established firms were patronised by the public instead of some random fly-by-night brand. I wouldn't be surprised if this particular example once belonged to an OFW or expat who bought the device in the PH and brought it along there in Oz.
I never used torque but i did use O+ back then. It’s a bit popular? But torque isn’t but i saw a lot of ads back at showtime and O+ ads at eat bulaga lmao
i've been bingewatching your channel for a week now, someone looking at cheapo budget phones and bootleg products is exactly what i have been looking for lol
Smoorez, as a Filipino, you made us proud trying out our product ❤❤❤ 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 Edit: I used to own Torque DROIDZ Mini D back in 2015 and at that year I consider it as my high-end phablet which it has 512mb RAM, veri fast...
I unironically like it for what it is. Seeing stock Android Kit Kat again brought back some warm and fuzzy memories of my old Moto E1. Holo 4 Ever! And I've always liked the flippy camera thing. I'd be interested in seeing a review of both Timmy and that Galaxy A80 you briefly showed on screen.
This is quite a popular brand in the Philippines. Its main competitor is a brand called cherry mobile. But after a little bit digging, both are just rebranded devices from other manufacturers like aniol etc...
Sir Smoorez, Torque is the Philippines gadget company since 2008 and now they are inactive... This is my first time that you review the Philippines phone (Torque) in your video ;)
Not possible. In most cases, those phones are not powerful enough to run Android. Also, Nokia phones have protection measures in place to prevent flashing custom operating systems.
Cracking video. I kind of like the phone. Rather impressed by the camera in both photos and video. Especially for its age. The sound is good too. I've had a few mp3 players advertised on Facebook. They are on Amazon and have a touch screen but you can't download and install new apps. So possibly way old stock sold as music players. I've seen a few with android 6 but nothing this old. As for the Timmy I can only think of South Park. Not PC but I'm a wheelchair user and it makes me smile.😊
well for the price it wasn't bad, but in 2014/15 there were way better devices to go with. the camera was good enough and the speaker had way too much top ends. and i have to say this, sorry: don't let timmy show the pipi or ainol XD. ok this joke was pretty bad but i had to say it... just scroll down please.
I have had several Torque phones before. along with Torque also was MyPhone and Cherry Mobile which all was released in the Philippines. Torque devices usually are fairly god devices but somehow gotten left out by other famous brands better specs...
I'm a Filipino and I ngl see this brand on malls everywhere before. But it slowly faded away in malls and the pandemic seems like it's last straw cuz after the lockdown, there's no more stalls of torque in any mall I go through.
For a moment i tought it was the same phone as the Allview P7 Xtreme, but the buttons are on the other side. That's really interesting. I had no idea there were so many phones with a flip camera. You should most definitely get one of these. This was something like a flagship here, in Romania. I knew so many people who had one. The camera was actually decent and the whole OS had a nice skin.
I would be interested in seeing a review of the TIMMY!! Also just want to say Thanks for all the videos you do. IDK why but I find your videos very relaxing after a long day
This is a good design, and i considered something like this at the time, but the problem is they never had waterproofing. I touch grass and sometimes the grass is wet. But it would be nice to answer a call and not risk getting face grease (or makeup?) all over the screen. It also solves the problem of the selfie cameras often being terrible due to limited space. The brick design is somewhat common at the time, and i think it looks clean and neat.
Oh god I really want to see another review on the "TIMMY" phone, like, it appears to be related with the manufacturers of the "SUSAN M5" phone because of the whole "hidden boot animations" and "using real names as brandnames" stuff
I had the same phone back in college 😮 i had the green one. It's a good phone tbh.. i still love this phone and bought another one. But now it's not in the market anymore. Memories
Bro i remember this phone we had lots of these in middle school and loads of fun with the spinning camera it was the hottest thing back in 2015 and i hope you know im a liar...ive never heard of this garbage
18:47 is the phone haunted? A ghostly hand appears multiple times in the video, it just hit me that's what it is, i thought it was just the screen glitching at first..
7:20 honestly love the design of the phone, the square edges, pearly white color, and even the swiveling camera aesthetic reminds me a lot of 2000s japanese flip phone / keitai design language but if it was applied to a smartphone✨
I used to have a clone of that Timmy phone. It came with a rootkit/rat type thing embedded into the system files with access to everything and at the time there was no way to root the thing to get rid of it so i could never use it for much. It was horrendously slow and glitchy, probably due to the malware and the swively camera was garbage as well. Quite a large screen for the time though.
like the oppo n1 and n3 , the n3 with a auto rotating camera module though .. the auto rotating camera module in the n3 made making panorama shots so much easier

I saw a rugged torque phone before this vid, what a coincidence
Did anyone notice the fact that this was using a kernel from conanical ubuntu
As a Filipino, I am familiar with Torque brand, but not so much popular back then, this is the first time I saw this phone, thank you for sharing Smoorez.
Hi kababayan!
@@aceacejo6114 hello kabayan!!

it was on 2008 when they started the company
@@acrossjapanThanks for remind me :)
Smoorez! Have you ever considered flashing old android (like kitkat or lower) on touch screen java/nokia etc phones? Wanna know if that even works
Nah that would never work unfortunately, well as far as I know it's never been done.

Yes from Philippines. But not as popular as our local mobile giants, Cherry Mobile, MyPhone, and Starmobile.
Glad you included INR🤩
You know it's an old phone when 8GB is the STORAGE, not the RAM.
i did own a torque phone called droidz trend or something. Since im from ph it is very fammliar
I have that same screwdriver. I still can't believe it's better than a brand name husky.
It reminds me most of an old LG phone from almost 10 years ago.
im drinking a tinny while using my torque wrench
Dimming the lights and adjusting the camera brightness would have helped, because i can't see anything on the phone except the reflections.
Im a filipino and i have seen that once in my lifetime at my cousin's house and i was thinking that it was so cool back in the day
I've seen the bootanimation
That was a Philippines brand way back 2013 -2016 one of competitor of cherry Mobile
When you unlocked that, phone with your video I almost fell off my sofa ha. Sick
Can you make a video for the galaxy S5 welcome clone?
Please make one more time a review of the Timmy Phone. 😁
I have a Torque Droidz 3G, 3.5" inch mt6572 phone 512MB / 4Gb , got it as part of a lot i bought, kept it, no value, just sitting in the collection. 😅
It's a Filipino company and the phone was for sale for 4500 php which is 80 USD.
This would likely have met or smashed anything $125-150 phone I could have got in Australia back when this was released.
Bring on Timmy.
the boot music sounds like bejeweled
The Battery go weeee throughout the Video for dang sure 😅
Love from INDIA ❤
The flippy camera on the Oppo N1 is motorised.
Yes to timmy :)
I owned one before it was like a Blackberry clone or Nokia E5 clone from Torque
Their logo is a mandalorian helmet.
Webone proxy allows old device access modern web
I love cheapo phones! especially when they serve more than their price, what can you get for 10$ ? maybe a sandwich !

their logo looks interesting. its just like the old cherry aqua logo (cherry mobile)
You forgot to publish the system files of the old Android laptop!
That's because I can't dump the files from it because I don't know how to connect it to a PC to use adb.
