I like this song from Ringo Starr and managed me of my mom and dad when we took pictures on our trip going to out west I remember the pictures very well in her trips. I miss them very much my dad died in August 28th 2009 my mom passed away April 30th 2021 my mom died 3 years ago and my dad died 15 years ago. I just wish my brothers and my brother and sister went on the trips with me back in the back in the days of the 80s. They would have a fun time both my brother Rick and my sister Renee. The farthest I ever went to all the way to Indiana I got to see 28 States in my lifetime. I never got to see in California today when they went to California and went to see in Walt Disney world and stay with my uncle in San Diego California. Maybe someday when I get old I will get to go on the trips to go to San Diego California or maybe see the San Francisco bridge. Does all the other people want to go to Europe and all that stuff you guys and I told them guys you got to see the United States first our country is the greatest thing on Earth 🌍. Then you're going to see Europe. And all the countries in between.miss you Mom and Dad wish you were here we went to wish we went to see some more States in our lifetime. Maybe sometime maybe sometime when we get up in heaven we can visit the states that we didn't get to see and we be Angels traveling through all different states that we didn't see through our time like Nevada California Oregon Washington State Idaho Montana North Dakota South Dakota and all of the Eastern and all the eastern states and all the Southern States like Louisiana Alabama Mississippi South Carolina North Carolina Virginia West Virginia and all the other states in between that and maybe I see the capital of Washington DC our nation's capital see parts of Canada.
I only thought it was about someone quite depressed over verbal and physical abuse suffered in boyhood and even in his late teens. Only an analysis of the tune. I may be wrong.😮😮
So, "Rough Boys" was a song bout being gay, and so is this one. Too bad Peter never felt he had to"come out" all the way. But when he told the world about his feelings in songs this powerful ...who really cares of he was gay or not, or admitted it to the world or not? This is amazing music!
Yeah, gotta say this song is more of an expression of self - all the stuff that’s real in a world that doesn’t accept who you are - that’s what I hear. God I love this song and relate to this song so much. For real- why does music these days feel so empty and directed toward assholes that give the big fucking pay outs? I don’t know- just miss a lot of things about the past- I guess this is what they mean by growing old and being set in your ways. If so then fuck it - take me back to 1978 and just leave me there lol 😅
It could be the feelings of good people who became nasty, angry and disappointing to those around them when they drank alcohol or did drugs. It could be the words of how an alcoholic/addict feels. I hear no relativity to gayness. I hear a wonderful song, and I respect everyone's interpretation of it. 🌹
Honestly, I thinks hes far from the songs terms. If anything, in my opinion, it feels more of a representation for people like me, an autistic person. Often abused, demonized and dehumanized, treated like menaces and outcasts by people in society, all by their lacking of understanding of who we are personally. If there is a song for Donald, its the song called "must be nice" by nickleback.
@@dperry94 Autistic people are not demonized, dehumanized, nor considered menaces to society. Frankly, that’s ridiculous. You’re confusing apathy for cruelty. People by and large do not care, and tend to mind their own business, the problem is that you expect people to not have a naturally strong reaction when they witness odd or strange behavior.
I just love how this displays how sadness can turn to anger and bitterness and you never had these intentions for it to be this way.
The words are telling my whole life.
Same!
You don't want a life like that..believe me.😢

WTF?
I do not see a gay narrative in this song.

Of all the songs, whether by The Who or anybody else, that I can relate to, this one is the most significant - and at that, I'VE got blue eyes.

I was thinking how this song perfectly fits the character of Donald Trump. My anger has now turned to pity.
Sounds like you’re coping. Realistically Trump is probably one of the happiest people, fulfilled his dreams and laid more pipe than 99% of guys
