- Ever wanted your own dayz server but don't want to pay every month to do it?
Are you trying to set up a dedicated host for DayZ, but it simply wont display in the launcher?

Today we will show you how to set up your very own Dayz PC server without spending a penny, not just that we will also show you how to get your server displaying upon the launcher with as many or as little slots as you feel like!
note you do no longer require the dzsamodserver files ;)
REMEBER the name in the bat file must match the name in the serverDZ (in the DZ the name is inbetween the "" )
REMEBER default ports are 2302-2305
serverDZ line is steamqueryport = 2305;

I may have missed this part as I’m scrubbing through your latest series on DayZ dedicated servers, but how do you configure an auto update for your mods on your server? I don’t seem to find you mentioning it on any of your videos unfortunately. Cheers.

That's the problem with hosting modded servers, the mods themselves update on the server but all of the configuration files need to be manually updated if you make any changes.

How do I manually update my server with the new update with our seperate folder in the c drive.. I've updated everything through steam server and client but that's presumably updated the original files.. Which do I move over to the c drive folders?

Might be dumb but can you use this to create servers for consoles? Or is it just a pc thing?
just a pc thing, we have been trying to make console servers for nearly two years lol

Nice video! What does affect server performance? Like own pc ram/connection/storage? Does it matters?
The better the pc the better the server will run im sure
ram isnt to heavily used, most servers tick over at 4-6gb of ram and tend to never really cap more than 10 even when populated, cpu varies upon the amount of cores and spped, but even a 2 core modern i3 can host 50 players without capping , i suggest a 4 core with 16gb or ram, ssd space can be eaten quite quickly with mods so a base level of 256 is usually what i would go for for a single server

@@Solomonk-Solo it all depends on where you are from and the internet providers in your area too but like dave said hardline instead of wifi and should run fine

Cool! How much bandwidth is required to run a good quality server from home? I have 300/300Mbit with 3ms ping.
300 up and down is by far enough ;) 50 players utilizes around 10mb up speed depending upon the complexity of the server, 100 around 30mbps up speed ;)

hey friend i dnt see inbound or outbound or anything that looks like that on my router on in my firewall on pc ! can you hlp ?
say dav got everything set up on another pc running and when i jump on my main pc and search for my server on dayz and on BM dont see it can you hlp ?plz! also did my port forwarding and everything and did the firewall setup for the port forwarding as well ....
On my bell wifi i can only set up the port forwarding part

Can you use the same Steam account to run the server on the spare PC, and then actually play on the server on your main PC but on the same Steam account? Or would you need a separate Steam account to run the server, and then one to play it?
Youll have to have a 2nd account as far as i know. Last time I tried game sharing with a buddy of mine, the second he logged into my account it signed me out on my pc. It very well may have been because of my settings but its honestly worth trying if you have a 2nd pc. Lmk if it works cause id like to do the same if its possible!
Same account works fine.. I run a sever on my ally and play on the same ally with the same steam account..

My start.bat can’t read the mission script, Could anyone possibly know why? I’ll be so appreciated

YES although you would be sharing the pcs power between server and game
I'd love to do this but everytime I referesh servers on my launcher it reboots my router.. anyone else have this issue?

Hey I have a question how can I change the length of night and day time?
Serverdz.cfg file... About 3/4 the way down "servertimeacceleration =12"
"servernighttimeacceleration = 1"
Time acceleration is the length of the day, night time is how much faster than the day the night goes.. Explains it in the file.. 👍🏻

DAVE HELP!!!! FOLOWED YOUR TWO VIDEOS ON THIS AND BOTH TIMES THE VIRGIN HUB5 HAS GOT ME STUMPED!!! Some say it can not be done, some say it needs another router and only works in modem mode, some say it works fine, most do not know, including Virgin support... so I'm asking the only man in the world that seems to know -CAN I FORWARD PORTS ON A HUB5 and IF SO HOW MATE?????

I'm using a virgin hub 5 router and mines running fine.. If you still need help gimmie a shout, not saying I know the issue but mine works 😂🤷🏻♂️.. Can compare things 🤷🏻♂️
@@Critch4682 Thanks dude, we managed to fix it not long after my original comment. It was an issue with the router settings on the newer hub I got, so I have to have it in modem mode and use another router to get it to work or the port forwarding won't work correctly

Once on the IP Configs, it's extremely confusing because every Router is different. Im using a Nokia and I can't find any of this in IPV4 or IPV6, its all disabled and it won't even let me modify it. Thumbs down, could have been a great video. But this only applies to your specific router provider.
