- In this video, I’m sharing my first impressions of two luxurious rose fragrances: Perris Monte Carlo Rose de Taif and Memo Paris Argentina. I’ll break down how Rose de Taif’s fresh, vibrant take on the rose contrasts with Argentina’s lush, romantic blend of rose, oud, and florals. Both offer different interpretations of this iconic flower, and I’ll discuss their sillage, opening impressions, and how they develop on the skin. Whether you love a bright, airy rose or a deeper, more seductive floral, this comparison will help you decide which one fits your style. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more fragrance first impressions!

Yoy should really try hypnotizing fire either the EDP or the parfum on this rose journey, would love to hear your detailed breakdown and thoughts on it.
Really glad I stumbled on your profile by the way. One of my go-to's for good honest reviews which seems to be very hard to find on UA-cam these days.
@@chaostheory3011 hey! I have Hypnotizing Fire on the list of comparison videos, probably the edp!
Thanks for the comment and the recommendation!
Subscribed to your channel awhile ago and have waiting for every new video since😂. Always appreciate the color of the background matching the “color” of the fragrance, adds a very nice touch. Keep up the great videos.
@@aronjendre5037 thanks so much! It’s so cool to have such a cool community watching 😊
Hi Daniel. Thank you for the video! Before you might or not buy a bottle of the Perris Monte Carlo, you might want to check out their extract version first. It's more of the same, but better and longer lasting.
@@Ilovelove111 yes, knew about that one but harder to sample. I would have to go to a shop that has it.
Fantastic video Daniel as usual.
My interest was piqued when I saw Memo, but the competition sounds very good indeed. I find these comparisons very interesting because you find two fragrances that might be in the same wheelhouse. I love rose but I am a big believer that it is fantastic for men and women.
I will probably give the Memo a try but will keep your words in mind.
Thank you
@@Nojii1 thanks for the comment! Unless you find a good deal on the Memo I would recommend looking at other stuff too, it’s very common scent profile!
@@SeldomlyOften Will do Daniel. Thanks again 😀
Your channel came up randomly on my feed and I’m glad it did as I appreciate your perspective on fragrance. I too am on a rose journey, looking to add to my collection. Some of my current favourites are Les Sables Roses, Signature Rosé, Noir de Noir, Lyric Man, Portrait of a Lady, Toy Boy and Oud Ispahan. Looking forward to getting some new ideas!
@@waynesabados4048 it really depends on the type of rose. For a darker scent you really can’t go wrong with Oud Satin Mood, for a medium density you can try Scherzo by Miller Harris, for a lighter profile you can try Rose Jamal by Les Indemodables
Do you have a top spot on your journey yet?
@@chaostheory3011 really hard to say “top spot”, the one listed above are all exceptional but fit different purposes. I think my favorite rose to wear at the moment is Oud Satin Mood Extrait, but it might be circumstantial
I would love your impressions on some of Ormonde Jayne's fragrances. I think you'd love Nawab of Oudh Intensivo. Great video as always.
@@EndersFPS I have some samples but haven’t really looked into them too much, can’t even remember what I have!
@@SeldomlyOften It might be my favorite house. Love the classy style. Montobaco Intensivo and Nawab of Oudh Intensivo are the 2 big standouts for me alongside Ormonde Man, which is a pretty classic woody fragrance.
@@EndersFPS thanks, I’ll check those out!
Great impressions. Never got to smell either, but methinks I'd feel the same way. 🌹
@@justaddlight Rose de Taif (or any other Taif rose forward frag) is a must smell, such a unique flower!
I just got the rose de taif extrait. Everyone says that’s the one to get. It smells amazing! Waiting for it to get cooler in Texas to wear it more often. You are correct hot pink is the color. I think it’s because of the citruses.
@@richardbaptist5080 Taif rose in general is a very unique and recognizable smelling flower. The citrusy top is really interesting and freshens the whole scent profile out.
Been a recent subscriber as your detailed breakdowns brings a value add to the reviews. Have you considered the Maison Lancome line? There are some nice rose centric releases with some interesting twists.
@@iconz255 never smelled anything from the house that was not a strictly women’s fragrance, any recommendations? Thanks for the support!
@@SeldomlyOften Most of the fragrances from this brand is marketed towards women and this is why they do have some hidden gems in my opinion. Based on my experience - Rose Berberanza - opens with a pistachio note and dries down to a vanilla/boozy rose. There is also l’Autre Oud - dry rose and oud, saffron combo - classic but well done. Oud Bouquet is a strong dark chocolate oud and rose. Been sampling some others which are more green and dewy. Basenotes/Fragrantica can give you an overview of the line. Most of them have a sweet/edible facet but I think can be easily pulled off by men. If you decide to sample this line from the brand you might be surprised.
How do you feel about Atomic Rose (Initio)? Rich dense 3D rose but all naturals. For me it's a bath full of roses pulled fresh from the ground, stems leaves thorns and everything, the roots and soil dumped brutally in the water. I will never be without a bottle (can say this only of a few), it's quite something. I also wish someone like Bisch would dirty it up with some (a little) suede musk and ozonics on top and civet in the base so it felt like the roses were ripped fresh from the ground and kind of mauled, but we can dream
@@assumptaai never tried it, the bottle is expensive and I still need to find a sample. The concept is really intriguing!
@@SeldomlyOften try get a sample, it's the opposite of well behaved ladylike rose. It's slightly feral but it could be even more feral haha
@@assumptaai I’ll definitely check it out!
Hi i'd like to ask you an advice: what's the most elegant and suitable for a wedding Orto Parisi/Nasomatto fragrance? Great channel by the way
@@filippo0703 hey! Thanks for the comment!
I would probably go with something like Baraonda or Pardon, both very elegant and enticing!
What style do you feel? Light and airy or dark and heavy?
I would not go with Orto Parisi, too experimental and weird.
Light and airy. I was thinking of Beau de jour but i'd also like to consider something by Gualtieri
@@filippo0703 ok so scrap Pardon, Baraonda is beautiful, classy, long lasting and medium density, another really good one for a wedding is China White but you need to like white florals. Gualtieri is not known for airy 😅
Beau de Jour is very classical but is more everyday to me, for a wedding you have a chance to go hard because the outfit really makes up for any scent rudeness 😉
Ahah nice point of view! Thanks a lot for the advices!
After watching all your Nasomatto video reviews (all detailed, intriguing and entertaining), i've decided to get Pardon. Maybe i'll wear it for the wedding, maybe not, but it'll be great to have it in my collection.
Having the memo. I can attest the staying power and sillage are quite powerful and compliment pulling. Rose de taif a bit more oriental but just didn't work with my chemistry so gifted to gf 😂
@@IrregularTangent yeah I totally get how the Rose de Taif could end up not working. If you have an acidic skin those citrus like notes might come across as pissy and harsh.
@@SeldomlyOften 😂 I concur. Pissy is right but I just feel like it works on women skin way better then man but loving the new videos fratello. The taur one especially
@@IrregularTangent thanks! My skin eats up acidic smells so I mellow out most things 😉
I’d love to see some areej and bortnikoff reviews. I don’t know any others that our monarch which blew me away. I trust your nose so it’d be interesting to see what you think of that whole corner of fragcom.
@@kingerfd3341 Areej are not easy get hold of, I was trying to get a bottle recently but some was faster. I have the attar of Oud Monarch, I’ll cover that soon, love it!
It isn’t rose. But I’d be super stoked if you reviewed Arabian Jasmine from Amer Perfumes.
I have a sample and I love it. But I’m tempted to explore other white floral fragrances before pulling the trigger on a full bottle.
Curious to get your impression of it.
@@RyanMcDonnough never even heard of that! It might be challenging to get but I’ll keep my eyes open 🫡
@@SeldomlyOften
Not sure why my previous replies haven’t posted. Maybe because I also posted a link? But the Amer Perfumes website sells/ships samples
@@RyanMcDonnough I think links are blocked
@@SeldomlyOften
That explains it 😅
Noorolain Taif by Thameen
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@@FRD-HDD I just got the Thameen discovery set, need to check if it’s there!
Have you tried their Winter Palace? Thats one perfume that intrigues me the most from the house 👀
@@DmitrysPerfume it’s next on the list for me, also Indian Leather might be cool
As far as rose fragrances, I’ve only sampled a few(Portrait of a Lady, Papillon Tobacco Rose, and Tauer PHI-Une Rose de Kandahar come to mind). I’d love to hear a comparison or review of the Tauer, as I’m still on the fence with this one after having blind bought a bottle. After adjusting my expectations, I do like it for what it is to my nose…almost like a dry, dusty flaky rose flavored pastry(not sweet). It reminds me somehow of Fougere Bengale by Parfum d’Empire, which is also a bit dry, just a touch sweet, and smells of a spiced bread. They are quite different, but my reaction to them has been similar, as I slowly warmed up to that one as well. But for the price of the Tauer, I feel like I could have something I love much more, than just a like.
@@nathanielmoody3656 I got a new sample of PHI, I’ll slot it into a comparison soon 😉
