- Had a classifier match, shot with CO Glock registered as LO.
This was 10.46s with 4 Charlies, Hit-Factor 7.877, which is 98.46% in CO and 99.13% in LO (sus huh? =))
A lot of good Shooters will say and do a drop steps .. drop steps waste energy and time, unless there is a lot of distance to cover.
lol this is actually a record run in LO on this classifier, and it’s not even a hundo
Really? How do you know that?
@@DryFireNinja code howler monkey's site "hitfactor (insert period here) info" compiles the latest scores. You have the top one for LO on this stage.
awesome! Congrats on your GM status now Lol
Heya new to practical shooting and been working on improving my game any tips on stage planning and mental prep? My last match I dedicated a week before working on footwork, entry into positions and transitions out. I got so sucked into it I had 4 of 6 stages where I didnt even engage targets. I kept having mental blanks. My thoughts on it was I was going faster than my experience could allow or I just wasnt focused up.
Oh crap my reply didn’t post apparently.
Just focus on planning through targets first. Connect targets together, not positions. You should be constantly aiming at the next target and moving only if there’s an obstacle in the way.
Then you add reloads to the plan, and only then once you can close your eyes and vividly imagine your run through - you can start defining foot positioning and movement.
Movement should always come secondary to shooting.
@@DryFireNinja this makes sense. I been too focused on positions and totally spacing out on targets. Thank you I will practice this and apply on my next match.
Do you do anything special for single hand shooting? It's really difficult for me, especially weak hand
I've been shooting matches since March of this year. I'm unclassified, but have an all classifier match next week. Trying to prep for it. No idea what the classifiers will be. Trying to determine how to train for this match in the most efficient manner over the next 7 days
I do. Live-Fire 101 in Live and Dry-Fire, then extend that Bill into Blake, then two boxes Blake and even full blown WHO stages in Dry-Fire.
The more you do it - the more it helps, not only with WHO but also with freestyle.
7 days out is very little time TBH. most bang for youR buck is going to be Rest & Recovery. Increase sleep, decrease stress, hydrate aggressively few days prior. If weather is gonna be cold - bring heater, hand warmers, mittens, hot drink, coat, etc. Cold = 55 in shadow or less. That’s enough to affect your fingers dexterity, so for true grandbagging I would wear mittens even in that temp.
I would train maybe up until Thursday morning then rest. Ideally full Thursday and Friday off if match is Saturday morning. 2 live fire sessions, daily dry, but watch your tension and fatigue levels, work on simplicity and predictability / exact same sequence.
Blake, El Prez, all that with WHO / SHO and random fixed time with par time beep on timer will help you with manipulations and tactics.
Most importantly don’t stress it. Classification system in USPSA is all over the place, and it seriously depends on a classifier, so don’t push it, especially since you just started.
@@DryFireNinja thanks for taking the time to write all that out. I'll reply back with the class I end up with haha
What do you mean by "two boxes Blake"? Probably Blake drill, but what is this "two boxes"?
@@EzraLopezUSPSA so 3 targets for Blake and two shooting positions. You shoot normal Blake from one box and then run to another and shoot it from there.
Adds minimal movement components to Blake. Soft Exit from box 1, and soft entry to box 2.
This way you start integrating turret and lean transitions (my video movement basics explains that a bit).
