Exactly how i reacted. I remember the first time I ever played a marvel vs Capcom game. I was 4 years old. At my 4th birthday party sometime brought their sega Saturn and dreamcast, with a whole bunch of games including the games in this collection. I was already a huge fan of marvel and street fighter since i had gotten a ps2 the previous Christmas i got a PS2 with street fighter alpha anthology, street fighter anniversary collection, and watched reruns of the 90s x-men, spiderman, iron man, fantastic 4, and incredible hulk cartoons from the 90s and i was flabbergasted by the fact there there was not only s Fighting game with the marvel characters i knew and loved, crossing over with the street fighter, darkstalkers and mega man characters i had recently became a huge fan of, but i could pick and choose any combination of characters i wanted and swap between them on the fly, i was absolutely enamored, and bugged my parents for almost 8 months to get me those games at any cost, and to make sure it was the exact release that my cousin showed me because that same cousin told me of the crappy PS1/PS2 releases and told my parents that if he wanted those games i could have them because that cousin had between 4 and 5 copies of each game and system he had. That day, i was a proud owner of a SEGA SATURN, SEGA DREAMCAST,N64,SNES GENESIS, GAMECUBE COMPATIBLE WII,GAMEBOY ADVANCE, SEGA CD, Sega 32X AND HOUSE OF THE DEAD,KILLER INSTINCT1/2 CRUIS'N USA, BATTLETOADS MORTAL KOMBAT, STAR WARS ARCADE, STAR WARS TRILOGY ARCADE, AND HOUSE OF THE DEAD 4 SPECIAL ARCADE MACHINES. And just a year later when i found out about Super smash bros brawl,Mario Party 8, Super Mario galaxy, tatsunoko vs Capcom cross generation of Heroes and KOF 98 UM, you better believe that i had to get my hands on those games, and when i went on the school computer in 2012 and found the trailers for Super street fighter 4 arcade edition, ultimate marvel vs Capcom 3 and mortal kombat complete edition, i went absolutely batshit insane, and mom and dad had to pick me up from school that day in may of 2012 and mom and dad immediately understood why when i started saying that i found videos of new games in series that i had been a huge fan of for at least 5 years by then at lunch time by watching UA-cam videos,mom and dad ironically rewarded me because they knew those games were already out and had copies of them stored away as gifts for passing grade 3 but as a reward for not immediately doing something ridiculous to get sent home and made it to the last period of the school day before going bonkers, mom and dad were like we're proud of you for keeping a grip on yourself until the last 30 minutes of the school day and since my school was a 10 minute walk from my house at the slowest speed, mom and dad weren't inconvenient enough by the drive to be mad at me, and even if the wanted to get mad at me that day my not even 3 year old younger half sister was at the house that day and she already went and discovered the game, and since back then she was as big a fan of all of those games as i was and since me and my half sister's brother on the other side of the family already made her a huge gaming nut and my younger sister spoiled the surprise and mom and dad responded to that bay saying oh well might as well give it to him since before that day i didn't know ultimate marvel vs Capcom 3, mortal kombat komplete edition, and Super street fighter 4 arcade edition existed and my parents wanted me to not find out they existed until they could suprise me with them. At that point mom and dad realized that the cat was out of the bag and gave them to me and even gave me a long weekend and kept my younger sister over until Sunday because she did not want to let ultimate marvel vs Capcom 3 go, mom and dad even had to buy her a copy she was so heartbroken about being forced to wait until the next time she came over to play and at my younger sister's 3rd birthday party in july, my parents surprised her with each and every game and system that she liked to play at my house for herself and she was outright crying tears of joy. Too bad the days of her liking video games are loooong gone, i miss those days, she barely even comes over anymore compared to when she liked video games she was over almost every day per week the only day she wasn't at my house either after school or for the weekend was on Thursday.

Gotta love how People in general have had different reactions in this season of announcements, ranging from luke-warm to hype reactions. And in the middle of it all is the FGC collectively losing it's shit for 2 DLC characters and a collection of 7 remastered old games. Things that would seem very insignificant to other gamers, but that to those who know, are seismic to this genere.
Fighting Games really rose out of the dark ages back to prominence and now succeeding over other genres in quality and gaining more popularity is beautiful to see.
Those games mean so much to an entire generation. For us 90’s kids, those games created friendships and memories. We are now in our 30’s and 40’s now with our own kids waiting to share those memories with them.
These games were the true definition of fighting games for many. While my talents shined the brightest in Tekken & Street Fighter personally. It didn’t take much for me to fall in love with this series. I am also a comic book buff who is approaching his 40’s but I was into the MvC series long before I delved into that medium so I understand its appeal outside of it just having Marvel representation. These games also came out in a pivotal time for Marvel as the X-Men were at the night of their popularity. Only TMNT could rival its popularity. So needless to say, outside of all the countless 90’s gamers out there having their own fond memories, there are just a multitude more of reasons as to why this collection is so important for the franchises survival. We have our leaders like Justin Wong, Maximillian Dood and many others who fight for your right to play these games yet again. Show Capcom, Marvel & whoever else is involved in making this port that YOU WANT MAHVEL BABY!! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm not really good at fighting games and only really play Smash Bros. That being said, I enjoyed playing MvC1 and 2 despite being meh at best. I'm interested in getting this and Capcom Fighting Collection (pretty much for Darkstalkers). Even though it came out in 2022, maybe Capcom will make new copies of the game? Teeny question though. The Switch controller has the ABXY buttons and fighting games of this type used six buttons, what are used for the other two?

These games along with Zelda and Prime 4 were the biggest announcements in this direct. MVC were extremely popular and well loved and to see them coming back with online play is incredible.

Most of those cheers are fake as fuck. The Marvel vs Capcom series was never on Nintendo consoles and most of these people haven’t played any of the games. Yet they act like MvC2 was their favorite
You know that people can own more then just one console? And even if they never played it, internet exist and the hype for MvC2 its the equivalent of 3rd Strike
Why do you think they've never played it or can't be excited for a game that they know others enjoy?
The fact that it's never been on Nintendos before is enough to celebrate it then. MvC2 is over 20 years old, and the people in the video are young adults, odds are they've played or watched others play before at some point in their life.
First time i got to play Marvel vs capcom 2 was on the Xbox 360. The hours we put into the game. Still one of my favorite fighting games.
