We at #MotorBeam rode the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 some time ago. This flagship motorcycle from the British brand has the perfect balance of performance and handling. But the new 650cc motor feels less responsive and jerky at times. This time we got the PowerTRONIC ECU installed to see if the top-of-the-line GT 650 has the capabilities to go faster as well be smoother. To check this we have done a good amount of VBOX tests for top speed as well as in-gear acceleration.

I own this masterpiece... i have not driven such a beautiful machine till now.
4% incease in torque sounds pretty good to me. What do you guys expect, miracles? That torque increase in an extremely usable engine will be fantastic. My last bike was a Ducati S2 desmo 900 bevel and I would smash it thru' the tight twisties with my totally stock Conti 650😉

5:14 so basically it's just a .59 msec difference ... Why don't you hit the gym or eat less and loss some weight before the ride 😉 instead of wasting money on powertronics and ecu remapping 😂😂 ...less weight = more speed .😂😂

Just recently sold my 4yr old GT 535. Wanted to buy the new GT which will be a keeper, but waited up a bit to see if any upgrades are on flowing in to address some the issues niggles.
Btw 1:52 , I see rusty water stain in the engine,
& 4:01 rust in the exhaust pipe.

Awesome video! Hey, can anyone tell me how to refuel her (I've got the Dr Mayhem variant)? The dealer told me not to fill past the inner splash guard, but I can't seem to get the fuel gauge to read full. Any tips? I didn't find the manual helpful.

It is royal Enfield brother, it will become more nd more relevant with age. I was in matric when i got my first re, still with me as my primary bike. It will grow on u if u keep it all stock !

I personally have hit 174 kph and I've done a 0 to ton run in 6.5 s in a stock continental gt 650 which I own. No disrespect intended.

My interceptor reached 140 5th gear 7000 rpm and 160 6th gear 7000 rpm when limiter cuts in without the ecu
One year and alot of expenses later. Now my bike touches 170 in 5th gear without hitting the limiter and barely 180 on the 6th yet again limiter nowhere to be seen. Running SSmoto 2x1.

I just don't see where a PoweTronic is worth it. The differences are only tenths of a second, not even really noteworthy. I'll just save my money and time and go with a Booster Plug.

its not just about shaving few milliseconds off
I have been using powertronic since march for my R15 V2 and trust me the bike is much more desirable than stock setting. the throttle response is electric and the low and midrange flexibility is much better due to precise feeling.
its one of the cheapest way to gain "Actual" performance gains for your motorcycle engine.

@@GroovyStyleUnbox true mate but actually something wrong with the overall quality of this bike. My disk plate rusted to unusable condition just after sitting in rain for 3 hrs. Nothing like this ever noted on more harsh condition on dominar and my Duke 390
@@sundaramsharma6210 i see most of the people out there has same problem. Maybe RE has compromised with the overall quality to bring down the price point. From all of the lineup i only liked 650s but now i shall be more cautious while buying one.
