Elvis had an anointing from the Lord Jesus.. He always remembered where his gift came from. As he always remembered where he came from and grew up to become such a special person.
He went home at a young age but he left for everyone to enjoy is such a treasure..

He's sometimes remembered more for the spectacle of Elvis rather than his talent, which was immense. Elvis is part of my childhood soundtrack.

"Stand by me" This is my favorite gospel song, the passion in his voice is what Elvis is known for.
His Gospel songs are incredible. So much so, I now know all the words to all his Gospel songs. I listen to his Gospel albums every day. Elvis has brought more people back to God than one can only imagine with his beautiful spiritual voice. Your reaction was like mine the first time I heard his Gospel singing. I cried and thanked the Lord.

His voice is so haunting! You can really hear his emotion and passion to gospel music. The music he loved the most.
Sounds more like the Imperials singing in the background. This would be around 1970, after the Jordanaires left Elvis but before J. D. Sumner and the Stamps joined.

What a powerful song ...Elvis sings it so simple, yet the power comes through loud and clear. Everyone needs to KNOW that we all need God to stand by us or we truly do stand alone. I never want to be that hopelessly alone, and neither should anyone else. With God, there's no such thing as being alone.

As an aside a track that many Elvis fans miss and goes under the radar is 'So Glad You're Mine' from early 1956 which IMHO can rival anything he produced in the 1950's .
