We just bought a 2007 Mack pinnacle day cab. It’s got the wet kit on it and ready to go. We bought it from the company we haul for and the last 5 years it’s just been used here and there. They said it had a shit down problem and they wasn’t sure what it was. Well we found it. The fuel tank had trash all in it and was clogging the fuel lines. We cleaned the tank ( only has one) and the fuel lines and I’ve been in it the last three weeks with no issues. We gave 15 k for it which I feel was a steel. Oh it had 515000 miles when we got it and I’ve got 520000 on it now wihh no issues.
Rob Slavin knows his tractor-trailers. He’s a senior pricing analyst at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneer, which sells hundreds of millions of dollars of used transportation equipment each year. And in the two decades he’s been selling or analyzing used truck prices, he’s never seen a market like the one of the past year and a half. A red-hot trucking market and substantial delays in new truck manufacturing sent used truck prices soaring. Slavin saw big rigs double and sometimes triple in price. A used 2016 truck that would have cost around $32,000 at the end of 2020 would get auctioned off for $75,000, Slavin said. And, at a dealership, where trucks are reconditioned before getting sold, that truck would cost up to $90,000

@@danielhofer7386 yes right now prices for used are insane which my 2019 that I sold cost me about 4 cents a mile ….. the problem is to replace that truck cost me way more ….approx 225-245k and if I decide to keep that truck the issues start at the 4-500k mile mark. On top of redoing the engine I have just as much cost in rebuilding the emission system and still have to add def fluid and get worse mpg. With this glider I get a lot of benefits …… hope this makes sense
@@flintcreektransport Well he might have just lucky & got a good one but he has a 2020 with 200,000 miles on it & it hasn't been in the shop at all yet.He may be due for a lemon on this next one but running a 48 states & going to Ca. a fair amount, he hauls bees half the time & they pay Excellent, his driver got 6.5 mpg. for the whole year of 2021 but he does have a !2,000 APU & has his idle time in the teens. where his is at 30% & he pulls car crushers half the time Grossing 95,000 lbs.& catch a lot of Air. he deleted a Cummins ISX15 a few years ago & had absolutely No Luck with that route. ended up fixing it twice & finally put a 6NZ Cat in the truck. It's 6 to 1 half dozen to another which way to do.I sure's heck would want a used Def truck with a lot of miles on it. 25-30 years ago if one could traded trucks for .10 cents a miles it was considered a could deal. this used truck market is going to fall apart it's just When will it Fall.
N14 is a good motor justin
They are better than the new ones but I prefer cat …..
Whats wrong with the N14?
When I see a truck like that I expect to see a yellow motor under the hood.
@@daneblackburn613 But the N14 is a great engine, should be a perk not a issue
Everyone of them I have been around leaked oil and ate camshafts. My dad currently has a n14. Once I went cat I never looked back. I have owned three and got 2 cats at the moment
@@daneblackburn613 Probably didnt keep up with matience on the ones that had issues, not saying cats are bad just saying n14s are good
The biggest issues with n14 is reliability…. Injectors , oil leaks , and usually between 500-700k they need rebuilt …..
Surprised that you’re buying northern trucks with all of the rust & salt when we have so many available in the south without those issues
There is not a lot of options for gliders ….. only about 20 Kenworths listed in all of usa
Justin, the hell with the pretty shit !!! What kind of rears, trans, motor !!!! Frame?? Double or What ??? That’s Right,,, Start Tinkering that price off,Go Go get them Justin,be like that sales woman you had in the other video when you were test driving her around??? Remember ??? She knew her S:;::;t
😜😎 …… I’m not one to tear people down in price …. Yes I’ll ask for a better price but sometimes people can get pretty rude about it ……. At the end of the day I have to decide if the truck is worth it or not ….. than make a fool outta my self
@@flintcreektransport ha,ha,ha,yeah I feel ya,and your no body’s fool, funny guy yes,but no fool. Anyways I saw that you bought it home and got right to work on it,can’t wait to see what you did with it ??? But I can Imagine
Nice W900 purring down the road with the CAT. Get rid of the ugly half fenders.
Thankyou
Best of luck, it's a gamble as you know!!! you will get tired of this stuff one day. THEN RETIRE! Sooner rather than later. Be safe....
Becarful. With. That. Truck. It. Might. Be. To. Long. For. U. To. Handle. Lol
😎😜
Is there anything on the market that can rust proof metal yet? I'd think someone out there would've found something . Billion dollar idea! Invest maybe in bigger radiators . Don't invent the wheel just smooth it out some right. Anything "man made " can always be improved.
For sure. I wish there was ….. it’s a big problem !!
That wouldn't be good for job security though 😆
Sure it would . How many machines with wheels including trailers run up ,down and across highways? Dude it's endless . Like anything else it would run it's course and eventually go away with the new thing .
do the tucks you drive smell like cigarettes cuz I can't stand the smell of them
Most don’t
Hi

N14 is better than any CAT
Not quite 😜
I do not want to take a toke of what he is smoking. Yellow motors all the way
@@flintcreektransport you'll see.
