Hello everyone. Some data on your 3DS you are trying to transfer data to, it will format its System Memory, so you will NOT have your Mii's, or Photo's and Voice Recordings if they are saved to system memory. To prevent this, 1) Camera and Sound: Save recordings, pictures, etc. to SD Card 2) Mii Maker: Turn on BOTH 3DS's to Mii Maker Have both of the 3DS's send and recieve Send all your Mii's to the 3DS you are trying to transfer data too. This way you will have all System Memory files.

Gary Lau Hmmm, yeah after I made the video, I think the PC transfer is required only if the amount of data you have on your source 3DS is larger than the capacity of the target 3DS. Maybe. Still not too clear on it...
asims615 when i get mine i will just delete my games and then do it wirelessly and re download them again since i mostly have cartridge based or they are new and game boy games with super mario 3d land being the biggest but I've already 100% that one countless times
Hello, I'm having a really bad time going through this transfer process... Please, someone help me: The main problem is that I had to replace my New 3DS XL for another New 3DS XL because of an screen issue. Well, first of all, I selected the console's transfer system to transfer all data, considering I didn't have too many data stored on the SD card. Then I went through the whole process and arrived to the last step in which you're required to take out the old SD card and put it into the new console. Anyway I still don't know if I should take out the old SD card and put it in the New 3DS when the transfer is completed, (I mean switching them), or take the old and the new SD card and transfer manually via PC the old data content to the new SD. What and how shall I do this last step? I don't know if I'm doing something wrong... I hope anyone can clear my doubt, this is annoying. :(

I do the PC transfer all the time. Took me 15 minutes this time and had about 20 odd GB's of data. So much easier for everyone. And it's safer as you have the data backed up elsewhere

I did it but my games didnt copy over. I then went to the nintendo e shop and it said i could redownload my games. So if u have that problem then just download them again free
They spent so much time making that pikmin transferring animation that they forgot to make the transfer process simple(which there is no excuse for it not being so)

physical Game Cards their info is in the Card itself except for updates which would be part of the transfer process and as for game saves for downloadable titles yes I believe those are stored in the SD Card so yes it would be part of the transfer.

I will never use any device as a micro SD reader to transfer, that's what happen to my old SD cards when using an old phone as an adapter. Datas all gone.
Ryan is correct, PC is just manual transfer for SD Card data, the low capacity option or whatever it is it's just a case of transferring the licenses so you would need to re-download everything which would be a quicker process as well but not a recommended one if you have time-limited download titles that you can't get and then there's the Wireless Transfer which just transfers everything so you don't need to do anything else really but the Wireless Transfer actually takes the longest process but really it's all up to you on what you want to do and how much time you have to be sitting around waiting for the transfer to complete

The bottom screen on my new Nintendo 3DS is cracked so I decided to buy a new one. I want to transfer by data onto my new system, but because the bottom screen is broken, I can't see the keypad when entering my Nintendo Network ID password. So my question is, am I able to at least keep all my downloads like eshop games, patches, or DLC's by simply taking the micro SD card out from the broken system and inserting it into the new system?
Yes. Everything will be on your current SD swapping it into your new 3ds should work just as good all you will probably need is a system update since those save to the 3ds internal memory.

I think I got an idea of what I can do, I can first format the new micro in the NewXL, do a system transfer, then after all of that, take the Micro out on my OldXL, put files on the the computer, put NewXLs Micro in the computer and put ALL the files on the new one. does that sound good?

I think I got an idea of what I can do, I can first format the new micro in the NewXL, do a system transfer, then after all of that, take the Micro out on my OldXL, put files on the the computer, put NewXLs Micro in the computer and put ALL the files on the new one.
does that sound good?
