I never did get a good view of the Volcano. It looks like they've improved the roads a bit, but I remember that rusty single-lane bridge. La Fortuna is a lovely town and Ticos are friendly people. The "sodas" have great food, and they are cheap. I recommend choosing "comidas tipicas" there rather than American fare like burgers or pizza.
Most excellent video. This video is enough to make me take a trip to Arenal. This place looks fantastic, and you did a great job representing that. Keep up the great work!
🏅I'm not sure who is doing the editing for these videos, but they truly are a master piece🎩Many nights I wake up to low phone battery because I fall asleep to these videos on repeat📴Pura Vida 🏖
I love your pictures of the hot springs. My favorite hot springs in the area are the Tabacon Hot Springs. I would also like to emphasize what you said about the sun block. There is a sign on the highway near Arenal that says: "8 degrees latitude". Costa Rica isn't far from the equator so the sun's rays are very strong. I got a sun burn on my arm because it was outside the window on the drive up to Arenal. Make sure to use plenty of sun block!
I enjoy your enthusiasm on the video, I have seen several and I have to thank you for the time you invested. question: when in arenal... the zip lines did you guys went to a tour place? is it private companies doing this? is there one that is part of the national park? can you share the name of the one you hire if you did please.
I visited arenal yesterday I was very fortunate to see it with not a cloud in site :) . Keep up the good work . I agree with all points mentioned in this video :)
FYI The volcano erupted much more recently than 1968 - the most recent was 2010, and that wasn't the only one. However evacuation attempts were successful and no one was injured.
@@seanhogan6897 i am going there in January so i am looking at the successful evacuations 😭 that's kinda scary. Especially since it seems to erupt roughly every ten years...........🙁
@@diddlybop honestly, I wouldn't be even remotely concerned with this. I am not a risk taker, and even more so with my kids in tow, and we will be there for a few days next year, completely concern free. Just enjoy yourself.
I love your enthusiasm, and understand that you you are talking to people that have no sense of the region (well done on that), but having lived in CR and spent a few weeks in La Fortuna over the years, the video seemed like the cumulative experience of a weekend (i.e. well produced but light on actual useful content). Sorry to be a downer, but that was my impression.
I like driving a lot so that should not be that bad and I have gone on a drive from Alberta to Vancouver Island (it took a whole day and night) and I was fine I like seeing so much all over the place unless I am in the city tho I try to avoid that
Look into doing the "100% Aventura" park or the "Extremo" Park in Monteverde. They both offer the best zip-line and if you have a car its only an hour drive from La Fortuna.
Costa Rica is very nice! I travelled there for 9 times, for work and vacation since 2011 but every year it becomes more and more expensive and I am wondering how the ticos can afford all the common Things... For example: The normal worker earns about 17 USD/per day or 10.000 Colon and one package of toast in the Supermarket is between 3 - 4 Dollars. One beer (0,35 l Imperial or Pilsen) in a bar about 2,30 Dollar or 1200 Colon (January 2020).
The minimum salary is a little bit more than $500 ($17 per day), but hardly anyone earns the minimum. And usually we know where to buy cheaper, like "ferias del agricultor", "pulperías", price-smart (If you buy per month), walmart (some things), etc. Some places likes ampm, masXmenos, "supermercados" can be more expensive.
Your kids are so lucky to have such fun parents!
Thank you

Lived in CR. Costa Rica is a beautiful place and the bad things about it are so small compared to how amazing the country is

The driving is one of the best I enjoyed

A group of people were killed in 2000 when it erupted.

Hello Walter which resort did you and your family stay at?
Ohh, that guy was everywhere! And all you videos contain a lot of information! Thanx!
I'm going to costa Rica thus weekend what to do around the area of tabacon??
Deep from the vault! 👍 You know the 5 loves/hates videos are my favorites. @7:35 birds of paradise plant...quite pricey from my florist. 😂
Super pricey indeed :) Jocelyn is so sad they dont survive where we live

The rain was coming so rapidly that you forgot to mention following you on Facebook, Twitter, etc. at the end.
I take bonine good for 24 hrs works great. I hope they have it Costa Rica.
What zipline company did you use? We are going in February with our young kids, and that company looks like it would be great.

What tour group did you go with?
Ginger ale contains virtual no ginger. Get actual ginger pills, candied ginger, ginger tea, etc.
If you think that Costa Rica is pretty bad for vomit inducing roads, come on down to southwestern Wisconsin. It’s about the same.
When is the dry season ?

Lizano salsa cool .
One day will visit there...any tips? Worrying about poor dangerous neighbours such as Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras etc
