- Frank visits Hellfest in France to catch up with one of his favorite bands, Igorrr, to discuss Gautier's background in music as a child, why now was the time to spend 4 years creating his live band opus, how he begins to write such meticulous music, Patrick the chicken, touring America, and a fun game of sound juxtaposition.

He will be sorely missed, but he will always live on in the spirit of Igorrr, forever clucking from the heavens where he is now, ripping on his toy piano alongside Jimi Hendrix, J.S. Bach, Freddie Mercury and all the other musical geniuses. 🐔
I've been to one of Igorrr's gigs back in 2013 Von Krahl - Estonia when Gautier was still soloing, and I got to exchange a couple words with him. Basically I just asked what kind of psychic contortionism must one possess to come up with music like this. Gautier replied something along the lines of "Yehahahaa cool". Never forget, that moment changed my worldviews

I was hooked on igorr from the first time I listened to them.
I discovered them at Hellfest some weeks ago. Now one of my favorite bands with their other related projects of the members too (Corpo-Mente, Öxxö Xööx, RÏcïnn).

Baroque music,Dubstep,Hardcore/Gabber,Chiptune ect.

I have never seen a band who used as much different kinds of genres and subgenres of music in their tracks as those of Igorrr.

Igorrr j'adorrr ! Me faire apprécier l’accordéon (certes à dose raisonnable ;) ! Pour le reste j'aimais déjà tout (de Meshuggah à La Callas, du clavecin aux samples -merci les "Young Gods") mais je n'aurais pas imaginer profiter de tout ça en même temps... je n'en n'avais même pas rêvé, ils l'ont fait !!! Ne surtout pas négliger l'album précédent, déjà excellent. Je devais les voir à Nimes, je les verrai peut-être à Six-Fours (avec ou sans masque ?).

Gautier nailed a very important fact of current music production; like the cook who uses his own tomatos/carottes because of the quality... the message behind is a kind of a methaphorical meaning to record real instruments instead using samples at all!
that's true, although you need some kind of budget to pull it off, and samples and VSTs are a good alternative for broke musicians (which means for musicians). That's why Igorrr used samples on all the previous records

Don't know about baroque, but mixing metal with breakcore/gabber/electronic was done long before Igorrr. Also symphonic metal existed long before Igorrr. Oh, and there also was rock-opera long-long before.
So, probably, Igorrr not such original as some people think.

They are not metal. A metal band isnt a clown with a turntable ripping a bunch of samples and just a drummer. Then you got the opera singer and the growler. That is not a metal band and it isnt metal music.
