  • OpenAI' Sora just released entire short films, trailers, and commercials, all created by text to video AI model, Sora.
Sora gave early access to create agencies and filmmakers to see what they could come up with and the results are mind-blowing.
You can watch all the clips posted by OpenAI here:

Wow. Talk about under valuing yourself.
So far all I've seen is fun (dead) eye candy. I haven't seen anything to remotely like quality cinematography with emotional content. These demo videos only work because there's a voice over to create some sense of a story. If all you have are visuals and no story then who cares.
I've had a lot of fun with Runway ML. It would be great for creating content for screens at festivals or low budget pop promos. Probably ideal for an alternative to stock footage but not about to replace conventional production.

You're not being rude and there's no need to apologise. Of course this is going to change film and TV production but it won't eliminate it. I'm not being dumb.
      How old are you?

@@richardhall5489 Check out Eleven Labs. Their voice to text is amazing and newer updates are only getting better. I’ve been watching AI development quite intensely over the past two years and trying to learn as much as possible to transition careers. One thing is abundantly clear when it comes to AI. It is getting better at an exponential rate. Meaning, it is not only improving, but as it is improving, it in turn is improving faster and faster. We are on the cusp of an extremely world changing moment where potentially billions of people will be losing their jobs to AI. It’s extremely heartbreaking to hear my friends in the film industry say that they feel that their jobs will somehow be safe, when I know they won’t. The studio execs response to the writers’ and actors’ strikes destroyed and are destroying peoples’ lives. I have friends and acquaintances that have not worked in over a year in the industry. I’ve been fortunate (or unfortunate, depending on how you look at it) to have worked both on the production side and the studio side of things. Ruthlessly evil people, like Bob Iger, do not care how many lives they ruin. They’ll use every technology available to them to make more money. We’re getting very close to a point where AI generated content and human generated content are indiscernible. Just look at the massive change in article generation in the news, editorial and blogging world.
I keep thinking of the story of Big John racing the railroad building machine. Big John may have won the race, but, in the long run, he lost the war. Jobs like switchboard operators, knocker uppers, lamplighters, milkmen, log drivers and more have all gone away because of technology and I would venture to guess that they all likely had the same thought of, “I could never be replaced by a machine. No machine can do what I can do with as much skill.” I REALLY hope a lot of people start seeing what is coming on the horizon and prepare for it. No one’s job is safe and the suffering that people will experience because of this shortsightedness is going to be crushing.

The real question is what are the constraints when it is released in ChatGPT and how much will api calls be because this probably requires a lot of horsepower might be new tier added for sora generations. Hopefully we don't get Google levels of censorship

Do you happen to know if they plan on doing export to some 360 technology?
Like, however it is for a VR headset.
Would be cool as heck to be able to generate 3d videos with Sora.
    Would take a retrain I imagine - don't know.
A whole other model I guess.

Sorry this is NOT impressive. The most simple thing to create is a round 3D object balloon. Show me a face and expressions and talking. Try dialogue. Try a fight scene. Try making a scene from an actual movie. And most of these videos are two videos merged together and NOT 100% AI. It's still years away. You can't make a movie with this technology yet. Unless you like a Ken Burns style movie where every single shot is a slow moving shot that is about as dynamic as a photo.
I'll believe it when I can test it.

It can actually make fight scenes and movie scenes with ease. Also it won't take years to make high level quality movies. Some months or 1 year at max
