CONGRATULATIONS on your mission calls!!!! 7 years ago my twin sister and I also went on missions the same day. I went to Indianapolis Indiana and my sister went to Atlanta Georgia. Remember that you will be following in the footsteps of the gratest missionary and you will be wearing His name on your badge every day. Good luck!!!!!
My brother served in the Santiago North mission! But that was... 8 years ago now I believe. So fantastic to see righteous brothers receiving their mission calls!
The missionaries are always in my prayer. A powerful ordinance that will somehow bring the lamanite's back into the Gospel... yeah, nice video... thanks
This video brought tears to my eyes. I congratulate the parents but mainly the mom of the twins on bringing two fine spirits into these world. The Lord's work can continue due to the efforts of both these Elders....
My father served as an LDS missionary in Chile 50 years ago when it was just the Chile mission. It is amazing to see the growth from then until now. My son went on a mission to Mexico City East that same year, but left the MTV a month before your boys arrived. Thanks for sharing an inspirational time with your family!
This is a very moving video which I'm watching in the Spirit of the Sabbath day. I love to see both boys so touched and filled with emotion. It's hard to describe the feelings of receiving one's call. A mix of excitement, fear and emotion. May the Lord bless these and every young LDS man and woman who give of themselves to building the Kingdom of God and bless the lives of people everywhere through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I still bless the names of those who taught me 35 years ago!
Awesome! My twin brother and I had the same thing happen to us almost! He went to the Mexico, Mexico City South Mission, and I went to the Mexico, Mexico City West Mission! The Lord loves His children!
hello! it's so great that your sons, got to go on missions in the same area! my two older brothers got to Bazil for their missions! but they were in different areas. i hope they both had the BEST two years of their life! it really is an amazing thing, to have your children go on missions, and teach the gospel to others who are not members.
I served in the Chile Santiago South Mission (Currently Chile Rancagua Mission) from 2000-2002. Such a beautiful country with loving people. I'm sure these guys had a blast. I sure did. Chile and its people will always hold a special place in my heart. :)
oh wow CHILE!!! que bien por los dos yo soy Chilena :) misioneros como ellos se necesitan en mi pais...im waiting for my calling too its supposed to come this week :) im from Chile very glad to hear that 2 elder like them serving in my country
How awesome! Thanks for sharing the special event with everyone! I was in the MTC the same time as them too how cool, which means they had President Boone too!
They are doing great. Their missions were an amazing experience! We went to pick them up in Chile in Nov. of 2010, and to meet many of the people they taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, which was phenomenal. They are both at BYU. Dalton is in a serious relationship, and Preston is very eligible. Preston currently teaches new missionaries Spanish at the Missionary Training Center (MTC).
I totally cried watching this. My twin sons are 13 and I hope they are both worthy and willing to serve in five years when they turn 18! This video also gave me hope that the Church will be thoughtful when assigning my boys' calls. What a blessing it would be for them to serve in the same country, experience many of the same (but still different) things, and to report to the MTC on the same day! I don't know if that's the norm for twins, but I can hope! ((hugs))
ali cross this comment is old, but only 2 years left! I'm so excited for your family, and hopefully they decide to serve:) missionaries are so greatly appreciated.
The other news was pretty huge too... We had never told them which twin was born first (i.e. older). Years ago we promised we would tell them which twin was born first when they got their mission calls! Turns out that Preston was born first....and as fate would have it, he won the coin toss to open his call first.
Thank you very much for replying. If possible, it'd be super nice to have a video where the twins talk about their life after their mission. When I see Preston's emotional reaction I get teary too. The following is for them: Queridos hermanos Preston y Dalton. Felicidades por su servicio y gracias por aceptar el llamado del Señor para predicar en Chile. No se olviden de sus conversos y manténganse en contacto con ellos. A 36 años de mi bautismo, todavía escribo al misionero que me bautizó.
That's awesome! My twin brother and I had a similar experience except he was in Santiago East and I was in Concepcion. Hope you guys are doing well, time sure flies.
It would be son nice to get a follow up video with them relating their experiences. Thank you for this very inspiring video. I already left a note before and honestly I love your video. I hope my son, who is preparing to send his application will be as touched as these two boys were. Thank you again and please have a follow up video.
great! hope ur sons are doing well! My dad's friends daughter, has an LDS friend, and when they were 12, which was the minimum age, they both went to one of those camps and cindy could invite someone along and she invited taylor, and when taylors sis came of age, cindy also invited her too, and i guess u could only invite one person, & i guess they made an exception since madison was taylors sis. every year the camp they went to was like a different theme every year as well
@Ktlc003 AWESOME! Good for you!! Come see us in BOISE some weekend, or the twins down in Provo haha! They are fantastic missionaries right now, and will have a little accent for a while, after they get back in November! haha!
I'm glad my parents told me when I was old enough to ask that I'm 6 minutes older than my twin. On the other hand, incentives for a mission - that's a great idea!
wwaaaooo, my boyfriend is also a twins, and when their missions calls, came on 2011 (too) they were asigned, one to ecuador guayaquil north mission and the other to guayaquil south mission, one first and the other 15th day after, waao, God dont want to separete much twins! :D
I like you guys by the way who are twins especially your sacrifices to serve the LORD and that is the great MISSION infacts in which place did you guys serve and how was that place during your service Thanks UNKNOWN PERSON
This was very touching to see. Thank you for sharing. It looks like you have a very close and loving family and I am extremely happy for you all! (PS Are any older brothers not yet married?) You're a fun and attractive bunch.
@silvershots2 My prayers are with them and all the missionaries and the families in Chile. Even though I am not LDS I have known many through out the years starting with my Year in the Air Force in Kunsan, Korea.
I have Identical twins also, and right now they can't wait to get away from each other. (They are Deacons) So they didn't think this video was very funny! Although I thought it was great!
I remember when I got my call. I opened my envelop and spent the next several minutes trying to get my letter back to read find out where I was going: My mom was very excited, but didn't read it out loud. Mom's are strange, but I wouldn't recommend giving them up to anyone!
..I'm crying. This doesn't happen to me much. Crazy to think I'm going to be putting my papers in later this November. (If everything goes accordingly to plan that is)
bro, this is a cool video, my cousin was sent on his mission a little bit ago, i just wish mormons would comment on my videos, instead of the those arrogant pricks(sorry for the language). i am looking into the religion myself congrats on the mission calls!
@Msredsoxfan12 It's when a Mormon from the church of latter-day saints goes to spread the word of Jesus Christ and convert people to mormonism. They can be sent almost any where in the world. By random.
@scooterbugs25 They are keeping an incredibly positive attitude and are doing an awesome job! They are both serving as Zone Leaders in their respective missions. Their missions have been a great blessing in their lives, and in the lives of many they have taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. They wish they could stay forever, but are scheduled to return in November...
@kukri52231 The other news was which twin was born first. We never let them know which twin was "older", so they would always consider themselves equal to the other, not older vs. younger. We promised them that when they received their mission calls, we would tell them. Turns-out Preston was born 3 minutes before Dalton.

Hey, what about your twins 5 years later? Are they preparing to serve?
It's been 5 years :)

Good luck! 1 of my best buds just left to the MTC there. If you ever see an Elder Cottle let him know Elder Beary says hi.
This is amazing. I love watching videos like these, it makes me so excited to receive my Mission Call, even though I have quite a while to go.
Gracias ,por su tiempo Elder , sirviendo en mi pais CHILE!

Thank you for sharing this.
I was in the MTC same time. Entered Nov 12th, 2008. Argentina Resistencia
I don't really no how I ended up here... obscure random links through youtube. But as I was watching it hit me. Preston?!? That's my home teacher!!!
Ah that's cool! I remember when my cousin opened his mission call! It was just like this with all the phones and everything!
The white bracelets were a reminder from a church youth camp about the theme of the camp, i.e. "Always Temple Worthy" or something like that.
@Ktlc003 AWESOME! Good for you!! Come see us in BOISE some weekend, or the twins down in Provo haha! They are fantastic missionaries right now, and will have a little accent for a while, after they get back in November! haha!
This is pretty awesome to finally see this video after hearing about it in the Mtc from Brother Purnell. :)
I'm glad my parents told me when I was old enough to ask that I'm 6 minutes older than my twin. On the other hand, incentives for a mission - that's a great idea!

I have put this video on the Facebook page LDS Mission Calls.
May I ask what is the significance of the white bracelets? Is that a family thing, or is it just the trend?
I got my call to Chile :) Concepcion South
He sure does!
@omiolo - True. They have now become eligible RMs!
wow that's really close together
@hottiecub They return in November 2010 - then off to BYU in January 2011.
Does Preston still teach Spanish at the MTC? I'll be going there in a few months and I'll have to learn Spanish so maybe he'll be teaching me.
So what are you doing now???
They should be home by now.
I'm from Chile... wuuhuu :)
Any updates on these Missionaries?

We promised them that when they received their mission calls, we would tell them. Turns-out Preston was born 3 minutes before Dalton.
