  • This week storms and surgery have conspired against us, but here’s a wee throwback to last summer for you.
We headed due south to visit Tyneham, a village that was abandoned in the 1940s and left to its fate as part of an Army training range.
We also visit the town of Poole, home to Sunseeker yachts and try to visit the tank museum at Bovington, although our timing couldn't have been worse...
A huge thank you to everyone who's supported our wee channel so far, if you'd like to help support our wee adventures you can do it through through our Ko-Fi or Patreon.
All our videos are hand made from 100% organic ingredients ;). Our content is mostly filmed on a GoPro 11 with a Rode fluffy microphone to keep the wind noise down, with occasional bits on an iPhone13. We also use a DJI Mini 3 drone which we're loving getting to grips with.
We make our own music using GarageBand and the videos are edited in iMovie.
If you'd like to buy DeNiro a biscuit (and he's a good boy, honest) you can via our Ko-Fi link at www.ko-fi.com/D...
If you'd like to become a patron of our wee channel we also have a patreon at / dizzyandbex

Always love when you share history! The mushroom foundation stones were absolutely fascinating - what an amazing idea! Have never heard of that before! Great video - though I missed Bex and DeNiro, it looked like you and Richard had and amazing trip (with or without tanks)

Thanks for another great video! Your commentary is the best - my husband & I crack up laughing every week! We really enjoyed your tour of Poole & Tyneham. Glad you made it to the top at the coast - what a beautiful view!

Great episode! I’m sorry you couldn’t get into the tank museum, I’ve been there a few times - my maternal grandfather was there sometime during WW2. Been in a few of those charity shops too but didn’t find anything interesting. Tyneham looked fascinating, I’ve never been. Thank you to you and Richard for showing us around.

Hi Dizzy, good to hear you are taking it easy. No worries, we are here to support. Suppose the good news is the charity shops will have lots of good merchandise waiting for you and Bex.

We’re hoping to do a Devon, Cornwall, Dorset holiday in Telus future. Poole will probably be a part of this. No yacht purchases are planned.

It's a tragic thing when governments destroy and uproot the lives of their citizens and then don't follow through with their promises. In the US, my family was driven from their home and all their farmland flooded when the TVA created Kentucky Lake. The people who were moved from Between The Rivers were promised their land would always be for public use. It seems like every year we have to fight to keep it from being excessively logged or sold to developers. In the history of my country, that is only one small example of many breached promises and dislocated peoples. It is interesting to see the surnames, there are often ones that are similar to my own neighbors, here across the pond.

American equivalent to B & Q would be Home Depot (also in Canada)...and they both are Orange. Loved the 10 to 2 joke!

Gosh, we'd never heard of Tyneham. Where did everyone get relocated to?
    Happy shopping! N&Nx

Sorry about the tank museum - that would have been fun!
Not so sure about the new wife, though; I think that you and Bex make a better couple!

Hello 👋! I always enjoy your "slightly different" episodes of SOAS 🩷. I, unlike the UA-cam algorithm, like variety! And now there is a SOAS Richard to go with LTSL's Richard .
