I get rosacea breakouts and herpes simplex outbreaks a couple times a year. Stress. I get the blustery cold sores under my nose and sinus infection and nit takes 2 weeks to clear up. It also makes me very tired. I hv antivirals but 😢they are not seeming to help this time. I get eye surgery on my right eye end of month. Ins is so slow and cruel. Took over a year and a half to get a surgery scheduled and I’m almost blind.
You're a genuine and gold star example of what being a responsible nomad is. Keep up the good fight brother. I came back to this video to leave a comment because I watched your other one talking about how you had too many comments to read :). All the love to you man.
When I get down, I take a long walk and make a mental list of all the things I am grateful for no matter how small. You will begin to realize, your situation is not as dire as you thought.
Being anxious in anxious times is totally normal. Embrace the people and activities that are important to you. Everything else will take care of itself.
As someone who has dealt with Major Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder since puberty I think I understand what you are going through. First, I would say to stop thinking you will ever do away with the anxiety episodes completely. That will help you not to feel so defeated when they hit you out of nowhere. You can say to yourself, well, here we go again, this too will pass. It passes faster if you don't fight it. Second, try to keep doing your everyday tasks and don't isolate too much. If you keep plugging away on the little things it will subside sooner. Anxiety attacks are like a riptide or quicksand. Don't struggle against it but don't give into it completely, just go along with it and ease yourself away gently. Try doing things that soothe you like your music. For me it was mindfulness meditation. I know you will be feeling better soon. Although probably not as soon as you would like. Myself and others are sending you our best wishes.
Everyone experiences life differently. I cant totally understand your anxiety because it's yours. What I can relate to is that it sounds a lot like what I have experienced my entire life. The best help I ever got was some advice from my mom when I was little. I was having issues by thinking too much and was unable to sleep. She said, "What you are going through, is it any worse than yesterday? If not, then relax and deal with it tomorrow. But for now, give yourself a break. If it was terrible, you would have already dealt with it." She told this to me when I was around 8. Now I'm 59, and when I can't give myself a break because of the anxiety, I still hear her words and deal with it tomorrow. I don't know if that helps any in your situation, but I thought I would share. You're a great guy, Matty. Enjoy the New Year.

Matty, you are one of my favorite van lifers. You're always so positive and super thorough and interesting to watch.... It's probably just the holidays and the energy of the country in general and I think a night where you are alone to breathe and not worry about everybody else and their stuff in the world that you will wake up refreshed.... I don't know what you've been up to lately, but maybe you were just over stimulated.... You got this buddy. You are an inspiration to many people.... And then maybe that sometimes is some pressure too. You're allowed to have bad days you're allowed to. You know relax. It doesn't seem like you do a lot of relaxing. You're a really energetic soul so maybe your soul just needs to relax.... And take breaths and meditate.... Go outside and ground. Put your feet on the soil and get some grounding in. And I'm guessing you're probably by water. Just listen to that water while you ground.... Do some stretching. Put on some meditative music or some healing frequency music go on UA-cam haha.... That healing frequency music will you meditate or stretch and just breathe in and breathe out. Give yourself 15 I-20 minutes.... It's always collecting for me. Also do some bouncing light bouncing on your feet on your toes on your heels. I use a rebounder but it gives me the same feeling. I just do some bouncing even if I don't have it with me. Get some of that lymph moving. Maybe do some tapping.... And you can look that up on UA-cam as well❤ But you got this. Love you much, Lisa Ps ... Im lisa hamby miller on fb if u ever need to talk.....❤
You may need to see a doctor they will Prescribe you some medication for that . I know some people who take medication for anxiety . They feel better . Matty you look fantastic . You are judging yourself to hard. This is my first time watching your videos. You're a sweet heart. Keep sharing your feelings. That is good therapy for your heart . Maybe you have too much energy. You need to let out of your system. I will keep you in prayer daily 🙏 ♥️ 😊
oh gosh matty anxiety just sucks 🙇🏼♀️wishing you well and hope you find a good health professional who can lead you to relief 🎉I have a great nurse practitioner who helped me with mine with natural means. take care matty! thanks for keeping it real ❤
I feel like there has been a general anxiety building for a while with everybody. You can call it some kinda cosmic changes or something. I agree with the other comment about exercise . A good long bike ride always helps me. Hang in there Matty , I'm sure things will turn around.
Dear Matty ! Thank you for being so transparente about how you feel. This makes following you even more interesting. I've always admire your simplicity and good vibes.. it always keep me coming back for more. I feel happy when I see you put out a new video, and I always find them too short. :) I don't want to criticize here !! I just want you to know that you're appreciate for who you are as you are. We all have our ups and downs, our struggles. I know what it is to struggle with anxiety. I have always been (for as far as I remember) and I still am, but I learned how to deal with it most of the time. Freedom is the key, freedom to choose, freedom of time, freedom of being alone ... freedom of saying yes or no, and freedom to change your mind. I wish you the best for 2025 and hope to see you on the road someday. When is the next video ? :)
With all due respect, you're handsome! I know where you are coming from and know it's not easy. I will pray for you. Keep talking and documenting so you can reflect on it all, because it will pass! Rosacea or not KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! You should only be embarrassed about what you intentionally do to yourself and others. Yes! Be happy that you have a beautiful van,you are FREE,and America is your playground!❣️🎉😘
I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety at the end of last year. I am currently taking Lexapro and finally feel better. It’s so hard living with anxiety. Give the meds time to work. Good luck!
I struggled with that my whole life . Prescription pills didn’t help me. With time I just became addicted. Now I’ve been free from anxiety, depression, and addiction for 20 months. I’m going to pray for your friend. ❤
Hi Matty, anxiety is no joke. For me the best thing I can do to help is take a long walk and think about the things I’m grateful for. See your Doctor . Sometimes we need help from time to time. There’s no shame in that. Feel better, Maddie you’re a good guy really talented and fun to watch .
You don't need to meet up with people if it's not the right time and space for you. Your friends will understand. That might be the source of your anxiety, or part of it. Just keep on livin man
I’m 65 living in my van. I am parked on a friend‘s property in California. Come to California ASAP. Your current environment does not sound conducive for your mental health. Being on your friends property will provide both of you a level of comfort. Having another set of eyes and ears on the property is very beneficial to the property owner…. providing a level of security. It’s not a handout… you are needed on the property!
When you go to the doctor get them to do blood work and check your thyroid. If it is too high or too low they can give you medication for it. The thyroid can have an affect on many things including emotions, weight loss or gain, among many others. I will be praying for you.
Hello, sorry to hear about your anxiety issues. Sometimes we just need a little something to do just to have something to focus on. Maybe volunteer at the RTR, that will give you a feeling of purpose. Hope this helps.
Sorry to hear you're struggling bud. Sounds like you are on the right track, taking advantage of your health benefits. Give serious thought to therapy--That should be covered as well, and as someone already commented, it can be delivered "virtually" nowadays. I hope you get back on the upswing soon!
We hear you Matty! I enjoy to see your channel and wish you the best. I am sending positive vibes. I had a chipped tooth and it was fixed very well at the dentist. My sister has rosacea red cheeks too. Natural blush and looks very cute and normal. You look great and the new year will come through for you! You are free and many people dream for your life. Big hugs for you and we will listen anytime. Look forward to the next steps and I am glad to hear the affordable care act is working for people to have healthcare! ❤🎉😊. Take care! See you in your next video!
Hey Matty Happy New Year! I don't usually comment, but I have followed you since before you got on the road and really enjoy your channel. It sounds like some of those concerns could also be related to the anxiety you feel, and you may experience some relief once you speak with someone. Sometimes anxiety can contribute to some body image issues as well. I haven't noticed any obvious fluctuations in your appearance. When you choose your therapist, the most important thing is that you find someone you really truly feel comfortable with. It's ok if you have to switch a few times until you find the right person. They are used to it and do not take it personally at all. You're not hurting their feelings. They want you to feel better as much as you want to feel better and that can't happen if you don't like and trust the person you're seeing. I do hope you follow through on it. Therapy is one of those things that is really hard to start, but most people are really glad they did it. Give yourself plenty of grace. I hope you feel better soon! 🤗
I am in my 60’s now but have had noticeable anxiety all my life. Instead of fighting it I learned to embrace it and it has helped me achieve things in life. Feeling anxious actually releases dopamine, which motivates us to pursue rewards and take action to bring about the future we want. Anxiety tells us there’s uncertainty, but it’s priming us to navigate that uncertainty, to avert disaster, to make the positive possibilities into reality. It is possible to live a full enjoyable life with constant anxiety. I have learned to live and thrive with it. You can too.
Anxiety is tough. Therapy helped me a lot. It's funny but now that I've been in my van full-time for a year it isn't as bad. I'm off my meds and doing good. Not great but better than I was on the meds. As for health insurance I have Medicare and it cost me $185 a month now which is outrageous. I have a supplement with no premium that covers a lot. Living on my Social Security is tough but I'm managing. I hope you feel better soon and there's nothing wrong with asking for help.
I think for many of us the season is the reason. The holidays, especially Christmas, can be bittersweet as we long for our loved ones. The weather (especially up north), the short daylight and world events can enhance our brooding. You’re not alone, Matty….hang in there! Hope to run into you one of these days (not literally!) as I’ll be leaving the PNW and heading for AZ in a week or two.
Your UA-cam people are here for you! Its snowing in NE Indiana today (1/3/25). Wish I was out West :) Heres a positive: you play a mean guitar 😊😊 Maybe it's time to adopt a rescue dog?
Matty, Chewable Indica Drops help me, for years, with High Anxiety. Keeps me off of "prescribed Medication." Walkes, long walks, n my Drops. Helps a lot. Best of luck to you. ❤
Rosacea comes and goes only cosmetic. Had it forty years no big deal. Good mental health is good health. Count your blessings everyday. Keep on keeping on I enjoy your calm informative thoughts and travels. A great 2025 is awaiting!
So great you are getting some health benefits. I have addressed my own periods of anxiety and depression that did not just disappear on its own by seeing a counselor. Sometimes it is good to have someone to listen to what’s on your mind….help you sort things out. Best wishes. Happy New Year!
Hang in there, I get it. I also have high anxiety and depression more than the average person. It can get bad, and I really hate it. There are days where I tell myself this can't be like this for the rest of my life, it sucks. Peace to all, ✌
Hang in there old man. Me too, and many of us. All I know to do is just push through and think that in an hour, a day, it'll come back around. No promise we'll see tomorrow. Got food? Heat? Security? You got my compassion.
Someone in the comments mentioned walking. When the weather is nice I have tried walking and it does seem to help when it gets really cold or hot out I don't walk that much. I don't really know all of your issues. I just happened to click this video. I myself have been in counseling a few times in my life. I used to feel better speaking to close friends but almost all of them passed away. I made new friends multiple times and they also passed away. It can be hard. I hope you get through this somehow.
All of this hits close to home and I appreciate your sharing it. Same boat here. For me, it could be anxiety, depression, apathy, self-doubt, or any number of things that people would not expect if just seeing my outward appearance and demeanor from a distance...or from the other side of a screen. When it hits, it just hits. I don't have any helpful advice on getting through it, but at least know that you're not alone in the struggle. I'm heading down to Q for the Jan/Feb meetups and already experiencing underlying anxiety...and yet, even with the anxiety, I'm still somehow looking extremely forward to it. I know that's going to sound weird and dumb to someone who doesn't experience these things, but it is what it is...and I'm just rollin' with it. Anyway, thanks again for sharing this. Hope that you're on an upswing soon and that you're able to steer clear from the "Quartzsite Crud" that so many people seem to have right now. And I hope to see you down there this season. 👍
That’s so awesome about that health plan! I have BCBS and love it! I’ve had rosacea on my chest for years. I’ve just gotten used to it over time. Not so attractive but doesn’t do anything horrid so I just ignore it.
Daily 30 to 60 minute walking, good sleep and meds. There are lots of good meds that can help. Anti depressants (same med for anxiety) or mood stabilizer. Good luck. Do it man, you will be glad, you deserve it!
I'm just starting vanlife and will hopefully be down around you in a few weeks! I'm in New Orleans and we just had the horrible attack to start our new year. It kicked in my anxiety, but I'm learning how to cope with it and it definitely takes work. We're ending one cycle and entering another so hopefully you'll be able to shake some of that off. Instead of using your bike, try walking more. Slow it down and smell the roses, or cactus! Just don't get your nose too close! And talk away! We'll all listen❤
Stress from this, stress from that, and stress from the other, etc etc... it all compiles to become generalized, sleep-depriving, anxiety. And every little thing becomes magnified. Focus on the positive the best you can and little by little notch away at the things you need to do. If you go to a doc about your anxiety, they WILL put you on meds. Your talk was not rambling! Know that, although we are strangers, Matty, there are many of us out here, who would consider ourselves fortunate to know you as a friend. Be well. Hang in there.
You are a good looking and smart man. Your van set-up is brilliant. You are free. We all have changes to contend with in life. Anxiety as a problem? I have it sometimes, too. I asked myself - Was mine mental or physical? Being that it was time for my annal Dr. check up I asked for a full metabolic blood panel. I was in need of a few nutrients to balance back into normal. I took them and have continued to take lots of vitamins. Even- keel now. Stay busy doing the things you love. Anxiety is taking away your happiness. Roll up those bad feelings in a ball and throw it out the window. Also, be proud of your Scottish heritage.
It is also known as the healthcare plan, based on the affordable care act. I have anxiety plus panic attacks. The medication that I took wasn’t renewed after my heart attack on June 16th. I just got the medication back. So I am praying that it will help. Not only anxiety but terrible depression.
I want to say I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety issues. I sometimes wake up with extreme anxiety and can have a difficultly knowing why. For me I try to place it in perspective, try to think of what I'm anxious about. Often I realize it's not so bad as my anxiety would suggest. One technique I apply is to think how one day my life will end and how in those days I might wish I could come back to one of these days when my anxiety is bad and start again. In other words I try to appreciate life now, while I still have it and can still get around and try to instead focus on that. I think maybe its because you are often alone. My anxiety really started when I became alone, that's quite a powerful, but subconscious weight. You probably don't want to be around people either so therein lies the difficulty. I think of you as one of my friends who I will never meet , but who I enjoy visiting with and traveling with vicariously. I appreciate your videos. There is a saying I often repeat to myself, " The longest journey begins with a single step"
I second that motion. I get that clinical depression and when it dumps it is like a landslide. No warning. No immediate cause. I'm glad you have the option to go somewhere quiet. It's almost unbearable when you can't find the space you need to breathe through it. I sure hope it leaves you soon!
I hope you’re feeling better, Matty. I have anxiety too. I have to take meds to calm me for any medical or dental procedures. It’s getting worse for me the older I get. Hang in there.
I use 3rd party tested cbd only for anxiety I tried the Dr route but it's a rough road testing the pharmacy's meds to see what might work or in my case make my anxiety worse. Good luck to you and stay safe.
It will come and go at times, just keep on enjoying yourself and try to make sure you keep yaself busy, if you’re busy you don’t have time to dwell on things and overthink them, easy to say not always easy to do I know, but keep ya chin up Matty, we’re all behind you 👍
How many people are in Obamacare in the affordable Care act are the same thing. You say "What do you think about Obamacare?" They say "It's Terrible!" You say "What you think about the affordable Care act?" They say "It's Great!" Even though they're both the same thing. They say "How are you going to pay for it?" About single-payer healthcare but they'll never see that about corporate subsidies for the "Military Industrial Complex.". The first US president to warn us about the Military-Industrial Complex was Dwight Eisenhower. That being said, Israel as Single Payer Healthcare. As do US politicians in both political parties.
Anxiety feels like an overwhelming wave of hopelessness. I try to excersize outside to help me burn off frustrations. I started jogging a five mile loop on a local trail. I really need to start meditating morning and night. Some call it mindful meditation. I tried a 5 minute YT video once and it was amazing.
Thoughts are with you! I have a long story about getting out as fast as I could. I was in Quartzsite in November. Rented a camper at patties rv park. Planned on staying through April. They ripped me off so bad . I was scared and had to get out asap. Long story short I paid a lot of money to get out of there. I will be back in my own vehicle next time and will stay clear of that place. Red cheeks and chipped tooth you are a nice looking man don’t let that stop you. You are always welcome in the frozen tundra Wisconsin.
Hey Matty. I find that journaling helps. Also try binaural music or trance music (it distracts and soothes your brain to ease overthinking/rumination). Breathe and become aware of the back of your body. I have heard that hypervigilance over-activates the front of your body, so being aware of the back of your body re-balances your nervous system. I'll be sending you good vibes man
50mg of vistiril, aka Hydroxyzine PAM, do not let them give you atarax which is Hydroxyzine HCL. It’s non addictive and can be used just when you need it. It works great for anxiety.
Marty I am 76 . Relaxing music helps and I also take 5http it is natural and really helps me. No side effects like some meds. You are one of my favorite utube RS.
It's OK to not be OK. Give yourself grace. Anxiety and stress can flare rosacea. You are in my thoughts.
I hope you start feeling better. Give God all of your stress and problems. He is the great healer! God Bless
AMEN!
Exercise my friend. Take a nice long walk. It works!!

take it one day at a time.. find your joys and don't beat yourself up when you are struggling...
One day at a time Matty. You have people who care about you and that counts for a lot. 🙏😊

Try thinking of your house sitting gig as a recharge. Happy to hear your plan to see your healthcare provider. Knowledge is power. Take care Matty.
Anxiety is real. I have it also. It's not a choice. Be gentle with yourself.

Matty keep your faith. I'll be praying for you. I also have the same feeling from time to time. I pray after an attack. It gets scary.
We love you Matty. We hope you work through this very soon and see sunshine again.
Thank you for sharing. So many people are struggling with anxiety. You will gain insights and strategies manage it. God bless😊

Love you much, Lisa
Ps ... Im lisa hamby miller on fb if u ever need to talk.....❤
You may need to see a doctor they will
Prescribe you some medication for that .
Marty. Thank you for your honesty. Keeping you in my thoughts.
Prayers that you get over your anxiety. 🙏 Hang in there!
I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety at the end of last year. I am currently taking Lexapro and finally feel better. It’s so hard living with anxiety. Give the meds time to work. Good luck!
Im sorry you're going through this, Matty. I will keep❤ you in my prayers.
I found your channel from Bunny Plays Here. Stay well, the flu is really making its rounds. New subscriber.
I struggled with that my whole life . Prescription pills didn’t help me. With time I just became addicted. Now I’ve been free from anxiety, depression, and addiction for 20 months. I’m going to pray for your friend. ❤
Please how ?
Am a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down 😭 of myself because of low finance but I still believe God😞
It's Elizabeth Ann Hanson doing she's changed my life. A BROKER- like her is what you need.
$356K monthly is something you should feel differently about....
Lovely! I enjoyed it like I enjoy a $100k monthly around the turn!!!
Matty 😂
Every winter my anxiety visits me with a vengeance,I have days were I don't sleep, but I keep goin
You don't need to meet up with people if it's not the right time and space for you. Your friends will understand. That might be the source of your anxiety, or part of it. Just keep on livin man
You worry too much for sure, but life isn't easy! Count your blessings every day! Is my advice. I promise you will be amazed 😊
I totally get the anxiety thing, I hope you can find some relief from it soon! Be well my friend!
When you go to the doctor get them to do blood work and check your thyroid. If it is too high or too low they can give you medication for it. The thyroid can have an affect on many things including emotions, weight loss or gain, among many others. I will be praying for you.
Happy New Year! Hopefully, good times are right around the corner. Journaling really helps my anxiety. Wishing you the best. 😇🩷👋
You are not alone…
I totally understand fog and doom hits you at once, good your speaking out about it, I'm going through about the same. Sending hugs 🫂
Hello, sorry to hear about your anxiety issues. Sometimes we just need a little something to do just to have something to focus on. Maybe volunteer at the RTR, that will give you a feeling of purpose. Hope this helps.
I hear you. I am going through this myself. It helps to share like you are doing. People do care.
Sorry to hear you're struggling bud. Sounds like you are on the right track, taking advantage of your health benefits. Give serious thought to therapy--That should be covered as well, and as someone already commented, it can be delivered "virtually" nowadays. I hope you get back on the upswing soon!
Matty you are awesome and not at all alone. Its floating in the air and we are listening and praying the pall in our country, and others lifts.
Good morning, friend. I hope you have a relatively good day. The new year is somewhat uncertain, I know. Prayers for you and your day/week ❤ 🙏.
Prayer, meditation and most importantly listen for God's Word.
❤❤❤ writing a to-do list on a scrap of paper and stuffing it in my purse usually helps when I get more than a few items to keep track of.
Happy to see you can find a positive 👍🏽
Matty you’re too hard on yourself! You look just fine to me and probably everyone else too! Nobody is perfect!
Good wishes to you for sn excellent new year! Hope you are feeling better soon! We cope!
We're pulling for you Matty. Lean on your friends and they will be there for you.
Your UA-cam people are here for you! Its snowing in NE Indiana today (1/3/25). Wish I was out West :)
Heres a positive: you play a mean guitar 😊😊 Maybe it's time to adopt a rescue dog?
I take magnesium and zinc for anxiety, haven’t had it in a year.
Matty, Chewable Indica Drops help me, for years, with High Anxiety. Keeps me off of "prescribed Medication." Walkes, long walks, n my Drops. Helps a lot. Best of luck to you. ❤
Happy New Year's. I'm retired. I get anxiety about not sleeping then I remind myself I don't have to go anywhere. Good health to you.
Just a bump in the road . This to shall pass it always does . Be kind to yourself and give it time . 😊
I get it. I’ve dealt with anxiety all my life. It’s highly individualized for each person.
You have to let what ever in your thoughts go. Live easy and enjoy life as you can .
Keep an attitude of gratitude 🙏
Well said 👏👏
We are here for you! Anxiety is rough. I suffer with it too. I just got over this flu ... had it 2 times in a row. The fatigue is awful.
Hey Matty this will pass. Give yourself grace & patience. I ❤ Matty!
Hang in there. Just talking about it helps a lot.
Sending you good vibes!!!! ❤
My brother took the con vid shot and developed anxiety and had to go on an anti depressant. God bless you.
It will come and go at times, just keep on enjoying yourself and try to make sure you keep yaself busy, if you’re busy you don’t have time to dwell on things and overthink them, easy to say not always easy to do I know, but keep ya chin up Matty, we’re all behind you 👍
Anxiety is horrible. The Norovirus is rampant right now. Stay safe. ❤
😮😢i'm Wandering how/who why all these Nomads are getting the 3/4-series Of Coo coo Puffs without; eating ChocoLate?, bye
How many people are in Obamacare in the affordable Care act are the same thing.
You say "What do you think about Obamacare?"
They say "It's Terrible!"
You say "What you think about the affordable Care act?"
They say "It's Great!"
Even though they're both the same thing.
They say "How are you going to pay for it?"
About single-payer healthcare but they'll never see that about corporate subsidies for the "Military Industrial Complex.".
I'll be sending you good vibes man
Try to take it a day at a time. And you should definitely go and see a doctor. Take care of yourself, Matty.
It's Matty not Marty.
@ sorry my phone changed the spelling of his name. Thank you
Hang in there, buddy! 🙏🏼
