Thanks, Heinrich! I was excited that most of the sound design was done with the original audio or at least from a clip taken right around the same time...that way I was able to accurately represent the acoustics.
Wow, and they've changed things up even just since you made your video! Just went for 3 days with my family in September. Honestly, even with this great of a video, people wont be able to grasp the magic of that place unless they see it for themselves. Oh, and the power went out on us at 4am for 3 hours and we were in the master deep in the cave.. and WOWWWWW I have never been in absolute darkness like that where my eyes can't pick up any light whatsoever and the silence... it was crazy how quiet it got when all the dehumidifiers and geothermal units shut off. A+++ drone footage
It is an incredible place for sure! I've been talking with them about doing an update to this video which would be more of a tour video, and they're open to that idea, so we may find ourselves back there in the coming months and have another (longer, more in-depth) video on our channel. That's a shame about the power going out! We never lost power when there, but there was a significant amount of rain for a couple of days (which made it into the video at 0:57-1:15). One night I woke up at about 3 in the morning because it was so loud from the water dropping from the ceiling near the entrance. It certainly was a unique and adventurous experience!
Excellent video, very well done. Absolutely funny that someone disliked it. Some people will just dislike everything, certainly a video worth of only likes.
I thought that was funny too. It was literally within the first two minutes of publishing. I'm guessing it had something to do with the fact I did a "premiere" this time (which I've never done before) so it was probably someone who got a notification and didn't like the video so was annoyed with the notification. Oh well, can't please everyone. Thank you for watching and for the kind words on the video.
@@BlueMantleFilms "Sadly" it takes all kinds to make a world... awesome job, don't let idiots (or in this case idiot - 1 so far) place a damper on anything, the rest of the world loves it.

Thanks, Liz! We thought about you guys on our drive home from here...we went right through Columbus and talked about calling y'all, but with 12 hours in the car by that point we were ready to finish the last two hours as quickly as possible and be home. Yeah, Holly's a BA. :-)

Thanks, BradenTheGuy! This was a pretty cool experience, for sure, and I'm happy with the video! I first heard of this place two years ago, and being able to stay in it for several days was definitely a check off my bucketlist. :-) If you don't mind my asking: how did you come upon this video?
Yes, but that is the question, you have a very particular sensitivity for any type of video ... you can make a video of Rice Krispy and the video will also be incredibly beautiful. I am an editor, post producer and pilot of unmanned aircraft in Mexico City and at this moment I am a bit jealous, in the best sense of the word, with your talent. Congratulations my friend.
Not sure if you're talking about the video or the cave. If the video: thanks! If the cave: agreed, they did do an excellent job at turning the place into something incredible!

omg this is amazing, guys! It was like 3,5 minutes on timeline, but about a week in my mind!) nice job! I wonder how much time it takes to create a great video like this? shooting / post?
For us it was a week in realtime and 3.5 minutes on the timeline. :-) We originally were going to stay at the place for only 2-3 nights, but there was a big storm and we actually got rained in, so they let us stay for as long as necessary until it was safe to leave. So we were there for a week. We intentionally allowed ourselves time to just enjoy it sometimes without filming, and then on some of the days we spent some dedicated time filming the place. So it was probably about two days' worth of filming. Editing took about three weeks.
Thanks, and admittedly (hopefully not pridefully) I agree. I was really proud of this video and I thought it was going to do well (honestly I thought it might be my first video to go viral) but it's been slow in gaining views. Oh well, I've still got a lot to learn about the YT algorithm and how to maximize the launch of a video.
I stayed here for 3 nights it was aswome. The owners let us go back in to the cave to see the creek. Michel jackons used to play in a club here. The owners are planing to put hobit holes as overflow places because there are two 3-2 low water briges that u have to cross. There is a netflix show that shows it in one of the episodes. It was a berwery at one point. We got to ride around and see the drop off caves wher is you got it right and threw a rock down you couldent hear it hit the bottem. A spulunker fell 30 feet. he fell through a flase floor in a place called the "devils dancefloor" it is a cavern in the 1 mile long cave thatis about the size of a foot ball feild. Thats all i really know but Awsome work
Blue MantleFilms, I would like to ask permission if I can use some footage of your video at Beckham Cave during our visit for my cooking blog video. I will give credit to your video if permitted by you . Thank you. Nice work .
For all interior shots I didn't use a filter. For exterior shots on the GH5 I was using a variable ND filter from HOYA, I believe, and for drone shots I was using a Polar Pro ND4 or ND8 for realtime footage and ND64 or ND128 for the hyperlapses. Generally I would use stronger ND for hyperlapses, but since it was cloudy/misty/overcast conditions, the scene wasn't as bright and ND64 or 128 provided enough reduction in light for my needs. This was edited in Premiere Pro. Thanks for watching!
We are very blessed indeed! We don't live this way every day (wouldn't that be something?), but doing creative video work has definitely opened up many opportunities that a few years ago I wouldn't have thought possible for us. Thank you for watching!
Yep, it’s legitimately a cave. They did a lot to it to make it really cool and luxurious, but it still is an actual cave, so there was a decent amount of water. The ceiling drips in the living room, but the bedrooms were fine. If I had to complain about one thing it’s that we couldn’t really change the temperature. Because its a cave it would keep its temperature pretty consistently around 65 degrees, even if we pushed the heat up on the thermostat. That said, that’s not particularly unexpected since, again, it’s an actual cave.
That's a wonderful compliment. Thank you. Whenever I go back and watch our travel and experiences videos (like this one, or our more recent Switzerland travel video) it always makes me nostalgic for these really cool experiences that we've been blessed to have.

You’re from Cologne? Two weeks ago I was in the Netherlands at Rolduc Abbey, maybe 50km from Cologne! I had thought about coming to Cologne but I wasn’t there for long enough. Oh well. Thanks for the kind words on this video! It’s the internet, it’s impossible to please everyone, so a few dislikes don’t surprise me. C’est la vie. I don’t actually monetize, so I’m not too concerned with that myself. I use YT primarily as an outlet for creative work and to have my work seen by a larger audience, and I think monetizing would limit that.
