Ulnar Shortening Osteotomy - 6 WEEKS POST SURGERY

VERY IMPORTANT:
I took this video 1 day before my 6 weeks doctor's appointment. As you can tell, I am excited in the video to start using my arm again the next day. The doc ended up telling me that I have some radiolucency around the grooves of the distal screw, which could mean some slight loosening and that the osteotomy site was only slightly consolidated. This was very poor news for me and I was very sad. This was two weeks ago at the time of writing this. he put me in the same brace and said NO using the hand other than phone holding for 5 more weeks. I have the next appointment in about 3 weeks at the time of writing / posting this, and will update again then! My arm and wrist feel great, but I've been taking it VERY easy because I don't want to have hardware problems. Please LISTEN TO DOCS ORDERS with regard to usage, lifting pushing and pulling. IMO I was still doing very little of this (just car doors and dishes and clothes really) But I guess it was still a little bit too much and led to potential hardware problems. In retrospect, I wish I had been extra extra careful but to be honest, as you can tell my arm and wrist did and still do feel amazing. I will continue to be very careful for 3 more weeks and update you guys then. The sadness that this caused is also why I'm posting this video 3 weeks late. I was ashamed to have been so reckless. Take my words with a grain of salt but know that it's how I felt at the time. Thanks!
