- Авто та транспорт
One of the best UA-cam videos for a complex repair made much easier. I would not have been able to change out the light without it. Many thanks to you and to your parents that passed on some genius genes. Also, I appreciated the honesty and demeanor contained in the video clip.
THANK YOU! Just what I needed after my wife backed into our garage door. You saved me hours of cursing and swearing 😅
My man thank you for making this video. walked me every step of the way - couldn’t have done it without you.
My Brother, You are an excellent facilitator, your instructions and visuals were awesome ( despite the technical LED issue) I probably wouldn’t have noticed it if you hadn’t mentioned it. Keep up the great work. I Appreciate that you don’t use profanities like others do on their videos. Kudos to You. God Bless You 🙏🏽.
This was a great video and helped me tremendously. Your attention to detail was extremely valuable.
Good video. Just did this on our 15 Tahoe.
The rear window washer line on ours was routed forward of the wiper connection wire block. I put it back there when job was complete.
Just take your time, watch the video twice, you will have no problems.
Thanks for the video. We just replaced the 3rd brake light on a 2020 Suburban and it was just like your video.
Your video was a great help. I was able to change the light on our 2019 suburban without totally removing the spoiler though and just removing the screws and popping the top cover off. Couldn’t have done it without your video showing how it snaps apart and how the light unplugs from the harness. Thanks!
I just did the light on my 2016 Escallade. Your video saved my life. Did the job in less than 30 min. I can't thank you enough 😁👍
Thank you for posting this video, I just replaced this on my wife’s Tahoe. Saved me $250 by not taking it into the dealership. Much appreciated!
Where you buy 3rd brake light forTahoe?
@@osamaerfaeimohamed7643 There are a bunch of places to buy the third tail light. I like www.carid.com. That website will sell vehicle specific parts that will fit your make/model/year. Good luck!
Great video, thanks for saving me some fussing. You’re much more patient and by-the-book than I. If I break that clip on the grommet I’m just busting out the silicon. 😂
Man, I wish I could buy you a beer. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Saved me a ton of time.
Thank you very much Steve! It helped me change the light out pretty easily and save lots of money in the process.
Such a joy watching you work and explain your process. I too, couldn't have done the repair with you!
Just replaced my taillight on my 2015 Tahoe thanks to you! You're the best.
Thanks for the video man! Just picked up a 2018 and will need to do this repair. Really appreciate you taking the time and being so thorough.
Bro you just saved me hours…. Thank you 👊🏼
Thank you. I have to replace the one on our 18 Suburban. You are what helps makes UA-cam my go to for fixing things.
Great video thanks. Wish all videos were as clear and detailed.
Thank you! We just replaced our 2018 Tahoe 3rd brake light and your video led us to completing it. Best regards!
Thanks for sharing, Closed the garage door on my wife's yukon and now i got a light to change out the third light.
SMW Vids , I want to thank you for taking the time to make this video. I just followed your instruction, and it worked like a charm! Thanks again. Panel pros NW

Thanks for making this! It’s exactly what I needed to know & it made the job easier.

Bro I appreciate you doing this video, I would’ve never figured out how to take that 💩off! Thanks a lot !
Thank you for such a detailed video!! You should record and post more mechanic work! You done an amazing job🙏Bless you
Great video man! - thank you for sharing. I have a Tahoe that has a rattling coming out of the spoiler and it's driving me crazy. I will follow your video and fix it.
Beautiful. You did a good job showing this
Thank you very much for taking the time and being very detailed
Great video bro. Huge help! Very descriptive!

Thank You Steve. I will be replacing mine tomorrow.
This is a great video for this job ! Very well Done!
Great video, very helpful. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial, thank you.
Thank you so much! I loved this video. I got mine fixed too!
Thanks for making this video!!! I am glad I found this video for two reasons. 1. I didn’t want to pay the dealer another $200+ to repair the light. 2. I am glad I am not the only one who damaged the 3rd light in the garage. I will say it is no reason for this repair to be the difficult.
Great video .excellent ont the explanation of disassembly!
VERY GOOD INSTRUCTION AND VIDEO!!!!!
Thank's man for the video, it will help me a lot 👍
Thanks Steve, a big help!
youre my hero thanks so much for this video
Excellent video - thanks.
Very helpful video. I just did this
Don't know how some do it without removing the whole spoiler. lol
Damn good video...saved tons...thank you....
thank you for the video. Don'y know if this was your 1st but you should think about making more.
Excellent video. Made a really tough looking job very simplified.
Thank you for sharing
Thanks man I appreciate the video.
Thanks man, good help.
Great video and I only want to comment on the fact that a Tahoe 3rd brake light is NOT compatible. I figured since I was replacing it I could get rid of the chrome backed Yukon light and put in a tinted one from a Tahoe. It fits perfectly, but the connection is different!!!
Thanks dude
The angles were a little shaky but MAN you helped me out.
Great video! Thanks! On your shelf project....just put a swim noodle over the edge. Done. Go fishing!
THANK YOU!!! When I see you, I owe you lunch!
Thanks for the video bro helped me a lot got a subscriber out of me and big thumbs up ☝
Thank you so much, your awesome
Thanks brother!
Very helpful thank you.
Great video! My 2017 had a few minor differences, but you definitely provided a lot of good info. Thanks
Helped me out..Good lookin
Thank you!
VERY GOOD VIDEO
on my 2017 Tahoe the RIGHT SIDE SPOILER Sits SLIGHTLY LOWER than the ROOF LINE !!!!
the LEFT Side of the SPOILER SITS FLUSH WITH the ROOF
Any TIPS - May be i have to ADD Some SHIMS !!!!on the RIGHT SIDE
It help me :))))) thanks brother
Good job
Good looks brahda thanks yo
Thanks for the video. Just wondering if it is really necessary to remove the entire spoiler? It looks to me like you can simply remove the six screws and seperate the part holding the light from the spoiler without actually removing the spoiler (in order to access the bolts that hold the light).
Thank you for the video !! Question, where did you purchase the brake light ??
I banged up.my spoiler with the garage door.
Where did you order the part from?
Hey, thank you for ur video will you pls share link where will we get this light in UAE, Dubai
hey do you know what the fuse is called for this light? or if there is a fuse for just this light?
Great video Steve! Thank you for taking the time to do this. My wife backed into our partially opened garage door and smashed the light, so I'm going to be replacing this in the near future. Quick question - do you mind sharing where you got the OEM part? Thanks!
I did the exact same thing as your wife! Im about to go do this install myself, Im so glad Steve made this video!
There are a bunch of places to buy the third tail light. I like www.carid.com. That website will sell vehicle specific parts that will fit your make/model/year. Good luck!

Thanks! my wife feels so much better hearing others have done the same thing! Now on to repair the garage door!
thanks appreciate your video
Now if I knew how to open the window
How to order 3rd brack light in dubai.... Because I damage light one car and customer want to new fix... Plz sir can u help me.plz sir
Are the spoilers on an Escalade fused to the glass? I followed these instructions to a T, and my spoiler is still fastened somehow somewhere.
Not sure about the Escalade but it may just be stuck because it has been on so long
Nice job!, by any chance do you know where to get those t25 torx bolts online?
Sure they have them on gmpartsdirect.com
Where did you order your light from ?
Ended up doing this last night. Managed to get the OEM part online for ~$120. Install took me about 2 hours. Went very slowly just to make sure I didn't break anything. Unfortunately, I broke the same bracket/seal that @Steve broke in the video. So, I need to get that replaced but cannot find that part. No idea what it's called so I don't really even know where to look. If anyone else knows, let me know (this is the bracket that "connects" the wiring harness to the top of the liftgate).
I have not been able to find the part. I ended up using sealer to keep any water out.
FYI - I finally found this part. It is called a High Mounted Stop Lamp, part number 22783103 from GM Parts direct. www.gmpartsdirect.com/auto-parts/2016/gmc/yukon/sle-trim/5-3l-v8-flex-engine/electrical-cat/high-mounted-stop-lamp-scat
So I took mine off, and it wasn’t cracked but it was fullllll to the brim with rusty water, no signs of water anywhere else, what could’ve leaked it in? Is the same thing that you messed up and had to replace bad and it leaked? Thanks in advance
I had to replace my light because i was cracked and the plastic broke out. Yours may have had a bad seal.
I noticed that mine was full of water while washing the car which then led me to notice that the light wasnt working. Did replacing this unit fix your water leak or is there a bigger issue?
Whats the part number?
Would this be the same for a 2016 Escalade ?
Sorry not sure but I will say they are at the core the same truck.
I swear this guy sounds like Kevin Hart!!lol
My 2016 Yukon doesn’t look like this. There is only two screws showing and the wiring looks different also.
Thank you! We have a 2015 and the dealer said that the whole assembly needed to be replaced already, WTF?! Anyway, they quoted me like $650 just for the part. I'm trying to find it cheaper, thanks for any help there.
Kevin Berth did you find cheaper one ?
Fawaz t nope!
For which part the light?
I’m blacking mine out as we speak but I’m just going to spray the 3rd light on the vehicle
The lights are the same, they dont have after market 3rd lights so its A GM light. Im doing mine now.
So I found out that plastic clip that keeps the water out is part of a $25 harness! Go figure lol did you replace it the whole harness?
I didnt I just put some weatherstripping glue on it and have not had any problems. Do you have the part number for the harness.
@@swilliams499 yes I have the part number for you
@@swilliams499 2321-1598 is the part number for the harness and weather cup. Thank you for your video
X23-112-A2 try that also, both numbers were on there
Where you buy 3rd brake light for Tahoe?
The part was from Amazon. General Motors 22783103 - F Lamp $124.00
@@swilliams499 Thank you, ifound it now as $134,
Do you recommand any other seller even not geniun??
@@osamaerfaeimohamed7643 I would buy the original part if available
The part was from Amazon. General Motors 22783103 - F Lamp $124.00
Super helpful video, thanks Steve! For Suburban LT owners, the part number is GM 22783104. Nearly identical but no chrome visible.
And i thought mine was complicated..

From what i remember yes. The screws for the lights i think were on the inside of the spoiler.
