I used to have old-fashioned glass cigar ashtrays about eight inches in diameter. Those would be pretty good for home defense too, but they only weighed about two and a half pounds. I considered them a great distraction until I could grab something more effective. I may have to update my arsenal…
I learned drywall repair as a young man, fixing a hole left in the wall when one ofy parents threw a heavy glass ashtray at the other. Ashtrays *absolutely* can be weapons. 😂
Would you consider stamping the Stelter Logo on the back and stamping a Monogram in the center. Could be something simple like a letter of the alphabet.
Almost makes me want to start smoking again. Pretty cool your using blacksmithing for more everyday items 100 years from now maybe there will be a new surge in old world processes thanks to items like this being around.
Send one or two for bead blasting with different mediums to see the finish, would save a bunch of time again on the wire wheel if you could get a nice result.
I would like to see some SMASH BURGER TOOLS for cooking! AND some BBQ tools like long long handled hamburger flippers as well as meat turners and scrapers for a griddle. Jim in Chile
I don’t smoke, but I was going to order one anyway just because they look cool. Five hours later and they’re already sold out, guess I gotta be faster that that.
I’m really interested into who this type of ashtray is viable for? I saw this video and thought, “that’s cool but is there really a market for 8lb blocks of ashtray. I’m not bagging on the design or idea. I’m just honestly curious about how big of a market it is.
What if you had a win one of these sucks? One a month for the year. What a good way to promote you and it would be a cool way to get square space to sponsor your videos. And it would be a good way to get rid of seconds. Win win win
Please review Seido knives. They seem to be a halfway between the wacky ones you reviewed a few months back and real japanse / real pattern damascus knives. This brand seems to have caught on the hype but are they decent or is it just another load of marketing bs.
Ah yes, a chunk of steel that represents what your lungs will look like after a few years of inhaling vaporized tar. Nice to see actual production forging, even if it is an ashtray and I have no purpose for one..
I like the video. It is cool to get an insight into the work process, and you are obviously skilled smiths. 👍👍👍. I do not like, that you downplay the health risks of smoking, nor that you make ash trays. That is your choice, I respect that. I do think, you could find other items to forge and sell, that would be equally interesting to watch without promoting cancer inducing activities. Keep up the good work 👍
Wheres my BENCH KNIFE!! haha i want one...or two, maybe a third one for a gift to family!! the ash trays look cool but i dont smoke, bottle opers were cool but i dont drink anymore!! or any less
You could make a Tobacco Pipe stand with a section for wooden splints and wooden matches. Maybe a spot for fresh tobacco and for sure a spot to knock the ashes out of the pipe. Maybe a bit of cork or something to knock the pipe bowl on when tapping out the ashes. Oh, and a spot that holds the tamping tool.
@Will Stelter you should make a few cigar cutters! Different kinds.
And out of Damascus steel.
Anyone want to see that, like this comment!!
Good call, the hot-stamping looks loads better! Thanks for showing us the process.
Matt is almost as chatty as you were in your first videos with Alec
This seems like a bad idea for my glass coffee table...
What could possibly go wrong?😉
@@r.awilliams9815 I guess I would just have to get will to forge me a matching coffee table out of steel!
Felt....😎
Get one! Gotta live on the edge bro.😅
Up next, smash tables!
Gonna look good in the wisky room.
Never mind, I'm too poor for a $150 ashtray, but I do hope you sell millions of them.
I don't smoke and I'm not from the USA, but I hope you sell a million of them, they look amazing and you guys deserve every dollar!
You should put a mirror on the right of the forge to be able to tell if you're centered
How to make Ash-tray better as Smash-tray... YES!!! 🤣

I think on the deadly but useful theme, I could do with a forged walking cane with a nice heavy handle. Great video 2x👍
@willstelter have you ever made anything out of Inconel? It would make the most durable blade ever. Love this episode.
Would you consider stamping the Stelter Logo on the back and stamping a Monogram in the center.

Those are the coolest ashtrays I’ve ever seen. I don’t smoke anymore, but if I did I would probably get one.
cool bottle opener.
well... I bought one!!! it looks too awesome not to have.
Thanks man! I appreciate the support 🔥
You should try a desk organizer next. I feel like you would come up with a great idea
The signature weapon made for an unpopular warrior, the _smoker_
You need to update the material to home defense ash tray.
Already subscribed, and liked... Count this as the commenting 😂
Well thats certainly one Ashtray with some serious Attitude!

Needs to have a glass pipe spot to be useful in today's world.

Ordered one. Guess I'll have to start smoking.

How much are both items separately
Just received my bottle openers, loving them!! Great job guys!

Great job guys. But smoking is it self deadly. Thank you 😊

My local scrap yard will pay $.20 for the combo pack
I used to use a brick for an ash tray😂
hulk ashtray
Mon Tana
Mon tucky
Same same
Definitely looks dangerous. This is up there with Fiestaware ashtrays and hand grenade ashtrays.
Can I ask, why Ashtrays? Doesn't seem like it would be a huge market considering smoking is considered a no no in a lot of age groups
Why don't you weld the 'V' die to the tapered punch so you can do it all in one heat?
Not enough power with a 25 ton press 👎🏻
Are you in Montana? You never mention it.

How are they out of the stock already, damn
pretty sure cain killed abel with one of those
Send one to Joe Rogan as a gift, I'm sure he'd appreciate the quality and made in USA aspect. Would be on his podcast desk every episode 😅
Smahstray maybe?
I think you should send one of those to Arnold Schwarzenegger
I don't smoke and I want one! 😍
I quit smoking 10 years ago and this makes we wanna start again 😅
great place to put my weed on

Cool! Stay safe.
How many "Smash trays" can you make per day?

Guess I'll start smoking again

In America even the ashtrays are weapons 😂

Who made it first? You or Jesse James?

So stelters a smoker?!? I quit about a year ago. I still perspirate when people are smoking around me.
Cool as hell, way more than I'd pay for it though. Let me know when they're half price.
