The Joshua tree is a very ancient tree which grows out near your shop. Mike likely knows already. I am surprised you have not demonstrated any guitars made of this ancient wood, Yucca brevifolia. Some of these trees are the oldest living beings in the world. The tree grows slowly in your desert environment. This provides a dense wood with a deeply warm yet robust tone, especially when a sinker Joshua is used for the back and sides. When combined with the CA redwood you have velvety tones ideal for finger style . Go Mikey.
