I’ve seen some comments saying cooler sucks and is a reskin of frieza so here is my rebuttal. He is completely different, he’s more like a fusion of Broly and frieza. He’s huge, looks like one or more of his moves has armor, I’m seeing a dive kick move, his final is different because it involves hitting the opponent first, he already has better ki blasts. The only similarity I’m seeing is the nova strike. Cooler is gonna be lit so if you don’t like him here is some pepper for your salt 👌🏽
Frieza and Cooler are going to have good synergy. Frieza is a ranged zoning type of fighter, while Cooler seems like an aggressive melee-focused variant of freiza. I'm gonna try having both in my team.
Frieza's definitely a different playing character. The game doesn't have any TRUE zoners, I think, but Frieza's definitely a more range-focused character who excels at having ranged options and unique coverage. In comparison, Cooler's DEFINITELY more of a hard rushdown character with several melee specials and rush-in moves.... Which makes sense. Frieza's the type of character that's content to just sit back and play mind-games with his opponent to prove his superiority. Cooler, on the other hand, doesn't care about pride, he's just there to rush in and beat you down to get things over with!
+KingNinja It feels like a result of the whole stupid "There are too many Gokus" bandwagon that just ignores all animations, gimmicks, playstyles, etc. just because "Why do we have every form of Goku IN A DRAGONBALL GAME?!?!" and "If we didn't have this we'd get X character! Waste of character slots!" even though that's not how game development works AT ALL because you don't have a budget for ___ many characters, you have a total budget you need to balance to create a roster that will sell. So those idiots go along complaining about the base form DLC even though they're completely unique and actively look and fight differently and then Cooler comes out so insert the "Oh look, ANOTHER FRIEZA" BS even though anyone with a brain can see how dumb that complaint is. Meanwhile, Street Fighter 5 has just as many shotos and a lot of these same people are actively wanting them to make Evil Ryu a thing, so take from that what you will.
What I've gotten from this reveal: Lord Cooler looks awesome. His moves are spot on from the film. Also, I'm very glad that his opening cutscene depicts him in his 4th form right before transforming into his final 5th form. I thought that was a nice touch. Also, Goku and Vegeta are looking awesome as well. I was kind of worried about Goku's Kaio-Ken move initially, but from what I can see, it seems pretty diverse. Diverse as in Kaio-Ken, Kaio-Ken x 3 and Kaio-Ken x 20 appear as unique attacks. His regular Kaio-Ken appears to be the attack he uses on Nappa. And his Kaio-Ken x 20 appears to be where he finishes with a Kamehameha, which is a reference to what he attempted against Lord Frieza and Lord Cooler. All of the intros and cutscenes look pretty phenomenal as well, almost perfect references of the anime. This trailer has gotten me very hyped. When Goku and Vegeta release, I'll use two teams, most likely. One team consisting of Bardock, Nappa and Vegeta. And another team consisting of the 3 main Goku types- Goku, Super Saiyan Goku and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku. And when Lord Cooler arrives, I'll make a team consisting of Captain Ginyu, Lord Cooler and Lord Frieza.
Bout Mon What kind of strange world do you come from where Raditz would be a better choice then Janemba? Janemba has tons of cool and unique moves and abilities that would make him a truly unique fighter. In comparison Raditz did fucking nothing.

There seem to be two types of players, the type that is unreasonable and asks for weird ass choices (usually you can tell by them wanting Gogeta, Pikkon or some minor shit character) and people who actually think about what would work and bring a good new moveset into the game.
I dont agree. There is no need for Gogeta at all. It's just a non-canon boring version of Vegito. And Vegito is already in the game, so we dont need that bad imitation.

How does fighterz not have neutral? Lmao at the start of most rounds it's a solid 30 seconds-1 minute of trading Ki blasts, pokes and reflects. Also reflect is way better than push block, with push block there are strats to get back in their face, with reflect as long as you hit the first one you can just hold it down and bounce them back untill their blockstring ends, allowing you to get an easy at combo unless of course your opponent isn't stupid enough to end it in a heavy hit or really laggy mediums haha
ZETTON Ehhhh I think I agree with bumpyface223. There's not a strong neutral game as you seem to be talking about. It could be just me as I use 16, and a very aggressive command-grabby one at that, but there's rarely moments I have that someone isn't in the other's face. It becomes trading blockstrings until someone screws up and gets a combo on em. Immediately after the combo it's more blocking and punching. No lasting neutral game in most cases.
As Hidden stated, as of now it'll be Goku and Vegeta releasing on the 8th, in 2 days. Lord Cooler and 17 will be released sometime after, probably in a month or 2.
