I don't recall everything that happened but what you said sounds like a good recap. It surprises me just how much of the story and character detail that I can hold in my head given the intricate information that is presented. Jordan had quite a mind to be able to create all of this and Sanderson did a heroic job of completing everything. I think Egwene was my favorite character, but they were all interesting.
Good to see you back. I agree with the others that Sanderson did a great job overall with an almost thankless task. People usually hate when somebody else finishes a series by a beloved author. He wasn't perfect of course, his Mat kind of sucked, and a few other minor things, but overall it was great. I totally hear you on Tuan, though from a character perspective I still find her fascinating. I find Faile much more annoying, if a lot less morally bankrupt. The last battle was super intense. Though of course you're only partway into the book in this recap. I'll talk more in the later videos.
I have some niggles with the end books, the limited use of Moiraine for example, but with so many balls in the air, I give Sanderson nothing but love for the work he did finishing the series.
@@smaug1234 I feel the same about Moraine, and there are a few other plot lines I wanted more from. But given everything that he handled it is impressive.
Glad to see your making your way through this final book. I’m curious to see how you’ll rank it alongside the other books in the series. Also I just continued my reread of this series (I’m on book 5) today. I know this is very long series but do you plan to reread it anytime in the future?
What is rally god is that overall ending was oulined by Jordan even before he pitched Eye of the World to publisher, and the actual last scenes of A Memory of Light is something he wrote right before his death. Something that George Martin will never achieve)
