- Whelp, this river was good to me the day before, so instead of going right back to the same spot I figured, what the hay? Might as well try the other crusty dams, on the same river, including the one that got destroyed after the record floods we had a couple years back. Plus, boo and I have exciting news. PAAAA POWWW!!!

If you like big drum and catfish, need to put the cumberland river on your bucketlist. Right outside fort Campbell kentucky/TN. Lock # 7 is one of my fav spots on the whole river
Yeah and any spillway on the Ohio or tennesse river too. And below the chickamaga damn. When I was younger I fished all the spillways in the tri state area. I mostly tried for hybrids but if they weren't biting I could always catch loads of big drum and catfish. Last twenty years I've fished mostly for just bass and musky on occasions. Just caught a 5,7 and 10lb bass last saturday on ten inch live trout.
@@EliteNugz we do the same here in east tn below the dams with live bait. But we use 12"-18" skipjack alive under a balloon. Its a whole new rush when a 40lb+ striper destroys it...
@@coltwasham6910 yea I like catching regular stripers to but mostly topwater walking baits. But I prefer catching the hybrids because they fight harder. I use the 4 in threadfin shad below a popping cork float. But I mostly fish for largemouth and like right now when it's spawn I use live 12 and 14 inch rainbow trout. This year my biggest is 10lbs but still got a few days. Peace bro.

Easily my favorite fishing channel. Keep up the great content! Would love to have you up here in Washington for a fishing trip on the Columbia River. Some of the best Sturgeon and Salmon fishing in the world!!! Plus the Shad run at Bonneville Dam in late May in to early June is fucking insane. Last year the second weekend they were running, 3 million went through the damn in 2 days. Some of the most fun times I've ever had fishing. And the Shad we were catching were all WAY bigger then what I've seen you catch. And the bite is insane.

Congratulations on getting a house for you, Boo and your little one! Y'all deserve it! You represent plenty of us out here that just like to fish...and we're happy with whatever we catch! I don't look to keep anything unless I am driving about 600 miles or so northwest into southern New Mexico to go trout fishing! We do have trout that are stocked into one of the rivers between Austin and San Antonio, but Texas Parks & Wildlife publicized it and there are thousands of guys and gals and children along the banks fishing for them, and I don't enjoy fishing next to that many people!

When rivers flood in my area of Indiana there are hundreds of carp, drum and gar that end up getting trapped in pools and then die when the water goes down. 1 drum won't hurt anything. People just need to chill and leave him alone! Haha
Birds or any native wildlife don't turn down a free meal. Over the years I still get upset or down when a fish gets gut hooked. But I know at my local spots if i leave say a trout at the bank it'll be gone by morning. I try and c & r and no longer use pb really unless keeping them but shit happens 🎣

My favorite thing about carp, they fight like hell, and when they get to the bank, they turn and run just as hard as they did before. I've always wondered if it was PTSD from being small and getting almost eaten in the shallows

There's an old gravel pit I used to fish that had carp that were a dull peach color like skin almost. I figured it was because the pond/pit was in the shade for a huge amount of time.

That carp is called a Ghost Carp. Fairly rare and a nice catch. I love catching them here in the UK.
That is a ghost carp josh, the dark face and them shiny scales usually indicate that. Beautiful fish !!

When ever you hit a spot like that you should put to bait poles out. Throw artificials at the waterfall.I use sinking rapala's light line. Everthing predatory hits them. #3 - #5

Koi are sort of like subspecies of common carp. Usually if they have longer nice looking fins, they are considered “Fantail carp” albiet that lil guy was kinda nice.

I got an experiment for you and Boo take two bags of corn for bait in the one add some imitation vanilla flavor to it. That bag should catch a lot more carp and faster like to hear your results

You should try out Rocky Ford in Manhattan Kansas. This spillway looks a lot like Rocky Ford. Huge fish there
I know this Abandoned Spill way, That is the Big Blue river in Blue Springs NE. My Parent in-Laws Lives there. I caught a 31 LB Flathead out that area,
LMAO< second spot I recognized immediately, Thats the Big Blue River in Beatrice NE west court bridge. Small World. I have tubbed and fish that area many times.

That was a ghost carp you caught josh. It’s a naturally occurring variant of commons that have the bright stripe along the dorsal fin and an almost mask like coloration in their head. Nice catch, kind of rare actually
