37 yrs old here, I'm left with one finger up, I don't know adventures in Odyssey? But I'm googling now, LOL. Man! My youth pastor's name was Rocky, he had a killer goatee, our youth group was at a building all of its own, called teen church. They let us go in with paint brushes and spary paint. The walls were black with graffiti everywhere, black lights and neon posters. there was a concession stand back in the chill room, they opened the door at 5 for dinner and chill time, there were couches and air hockey, pac man, and ski ball down a few steps to the side, in the middle was the local Christian rock station, and the sanctuary was awesome! The walls and ceiling were painted black, and the lighting was dim. It was the perfect place for teenagers to come and feel like we were in our element. At 7 o'clock, everyone had to go into the sanctuary; there were Christian rappers that came once in a while, even thousand foot krutch performed at teen church. They signed my converse LOL Definitely an amazing expiration at teen church! We were a bunch of outcasts that found one another. I will NEVER forget one night 2 masked men came in with guns, they were yelling at everyone and asked the pastor if he believed in God? Pastor rocky firmly yelled YES! the guys took off their masks and we realized it was the security guys, I was still scared until Rocky said, this isn't real, but it could've been! At any time we could die. Let me tell you the alter was FULL that night with kids getting saved. That was back in 99. You can't do something like that anymore, but it was definitely a lesson I'll never forget.
