As long as the chunks aren't too big, broken glass is actually good for sharpening the blades of your garbage disposal!! Whiz that shit up right in there until it's not making noise anymore & you will be surprised at how much better the disposal works after that!! HAPPY XMESS!!! Much love from another Michigan lady ✨💜🎄💜✨
Honey and bread/pizza flour is the secret. I started my sourdough 9 years ago with honey, water and bread flour. Look at the Flour's protein content as Jane feeds on proteins.
My hubby lives to do sourdough starter, but the one we had died when we had to go out of town for a while. I need to get him to start some more. I swear, everyone you are doing is EXACTLY like he does, except he doesn’t switch jars. We may need to try that with our next starter. Yay, Jessica and Jane! Y'all are doing so well together!
@Jessica - First of all, my husband and I found your channel a couple of weeks ago, on our nightly youtube binge - and I'm HOOKED! I absolutely am addicted to your personality and all of your "agressive" vibes. I guess you could say, I'm a lot like you (or you me, as I'm much older than you)! lol Secondly, the reason you're worried that you might throw away the wrong part of Jane, is because it is actually possible! Also, there's no need to feed 2 times a day and discard anything. Just add just enough flour/water every day to feed her (like you said- to a pancake-like batter; even feeding it a couple of Tbsp of each will suffice) until you get enough to bake with...but I think Jane is less than 19 days old, if I'm not mistaken? If so, then just feed her not as much water/flour at every feeding. Seriously, there's no reason to discard! You'll have a lot of starter at the end of the 17-19 days (or whenever Jane can actually double in size after every feeding consistently for 3 days in a row), but just keep putting her in a larger jar and make a huge bake day when she reaches her "safe age". I literally put my starter in everything I can bake! From cakes and cookies, to biscuits, cornbread, and crackers! Whew! I'm sorry for the long rant, but I've been watching you take such sweet and doting care of Jane and I just didn't want to say anything, but then my heart started really breaking watching you throw so much of her away!😢😢 Anyway, I'm so excited to follow along and see how Jane grows and the delicious things you make with her! Sorry for the long comment again (unless it helps your algorithm, then you're welcome! 😁😁)!
I’ve only ever used tap water for mine. I do weigh in on a 1:5:5 ratio (discard/water/flour by weights) but I know you don’t want to measure and that’s fine too!! It really doesn’t need fancy stuff so you’re doing what you should be doing!
Cake flour has cornstarch, bread flour has more protine, I’m dying to see if you get sour dough , I’ve tried for years, weighing not weigh, tap water, filtered water to take out the chlorine. I gave up ima really good yeast bread maker I’m happy , but I’m fully vested in your sourdough
See what temperature Jane is because that’s important I have a oven like thing that keeps the temp and you can cook in the oven as well slow cook and such cook the bread in the oven thing as well I got myne on amazon but I know the starter should be at a certain temp.
I would say stop and pray 🙏... because Jesus is helping everyone today on his birthday. However, you don't believe in him or God! JANE looks beautiful... my Auntie does it quicker!😂
I’m sorry, how do you know she doesn’t believe? I have been watching her for a few months now and I have not seen her mention anything about God. 🤷🏻♀️
I just need to tell you that your videos seriously help me get thru my days some days. Thank you!
So glad that y’all had a great Christmas, including Jane! Love your peaches!☺️❤️
I’m soooo invested in Jane…….excited muchly!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞
New pajamas?? They're very cute. I'm addicted to seeing Janes day to day 😂😂😂❤

Yay, Jessica and Jane! Y'all are doing so well together!
Jane loves you and she doesn't want to disappoint you❤😊
Sometimes I use a bit of rye flour for a feeding. It seems to help

Think you mean self-rising flour, it has the leveling agents in the flour.
Merry Christmas to a great mom.
You need to add sugar to her. It is 1 cup or warm water, 1 cup of flour, and 1 tsp of sugar.
See what temperature Jane is because that’s important I have a oven like thing that keeps the temp and you can cook in the oven as well slow cook and such cook the bread in the oven thing as well I got myne on amazon but I know the starter should be at a certain temp.
"Nothing matters, everything is made up" 2025. Thank you.
There’s self-rising flour . You don’t have to add baking powder to it.
You dont need to disscard any of it. You just keep feeding it.
Pls stop using that cloth cover.. it attracts mold..
Your calmness is disturbing me! Where is the real Jessica and what have you done with her?
Why do you keep throwing away food? You can still eat that in other ways.
I would say stop and pray 🙏... because Jesus is helping everyone today on his birthday. However, you don't believe in him or God! JANE looks beautiful... my
