It can sound like he does but truth is it’s only there about ,,, Kossof got his sound from his phrasing ,,vibrato & choice of notes which enhance the sustain ,,,, where as here there is much more reliance on boosters and does not have the same fine vibrato & note choice is not quite right. All in all not a good copy. I have been very familiar with Kossof playing since 1980.
The original Time Away has always impacted me emotionally - I cannot listen to it and not feel something. The deep, deep sadness and raw, soaring hope that is in the song. It occupies a position of singular greatness for me as a 45+ year guitar player and 35+ year fan of Koss. The change of instrumentation here blended so sweetly into the spirit of the piece, It is obvious you "get it". Thank you for putting this online. Very, Very well done.
I can’t tell you how many attacks of goosebumps I had whilst listening to this incredibly spot on rendition of Koss’s guitar style/sound.. could be him playing this.. amazing... would love to see this live....
For those who say he is not Koss are right but stop looking for something you will never find. Just close your eyes and be transported back in time. The nearest thing I have ever heard since the great man. Just wish Mr Kinoshita would come to England.
Thank you for your comments. In 2016 and 2018, me and my band played FREE and BACK STREET CRAWLER on FREE CONVENTION held near New Castle. I wish I had the opportunity to play in the UK ....
Had no idea you had been in the UK. You really should be on a world stage not just the UK and Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke are missing out not trying to sign you up straight away, you are really that good.
Koss was something else .....one of my top guitar heroes the guy was unreal the emotion and feel he could put into just simple guitar bends the vibrato in he's playing was second to none very underrated guitar player 🤘🤘🤘
This piece of music is my favourite of all, out of everything I've ever heard during a passionate interest in music of over 40 years now. It takes me out of this world, and you have performed it so well. Many thanks.
I've been a Free fanatic all my life, saw them many times in the early 70's (only once at Redcar was Paul 'out of it') and I have say, Mr Kinoshita is no Koss but he's very very good at getting that sound. I enjoyed it man, you could have stood in for him at Redcar :-))
Nice feel ,but way too much hair on the sound ,delay flange etc .....nice in it's own right but sonically worlds apart from Koss. Nobody ever get his wide fast vibrato .
No wonder. I am not making a guitar sound of the 70's. PA is delaying and reverberating lightly. Too much drive? At this time it is connecting the RANGEMASTER treble booster to the clean Ch. Of the DSL 100. If I want faithfully the sound of the 70's I use my 1967 made Marshall and the 1954 made Les Paul with P.A.F.
I have returned to this months later and I must admit I was dead wrong. Just now I really enjoyed and appreciated the closeness of the cover. The previous opinion was all in my mind and certainly not in your fingers.
Thank you very much for your opinions. I tried to combine Koss's play style with Dave Gilmour's sound. This is a trial and error performance. I will devote even more.
Kossoff has been my favourite guitarist for over 40 years and you absolutely nailed that! 👏👏👏👏👏
So happy to read the other comments of the other Kossoff fans! We are a community!,
as a lifelong Koss fan, I have to say that this is a glorious version. At last, someone who GETS Kossoff AND can play like him!

Superb, it's great when people take the time and respect to get it, you nailed it.
Thank you very much and cheers to Hideyuki for playng my favourite Koss tune.

Welp 11 years later I'm still coming back to watch a Japanese band cover my favorite but relatively unknown British guitar player. Still sounds great!
Absolutely amazing tribute to Paul Kossoff & FREE...Arigatōgozaimashita💙🎸

This is supernatural my friends.
I don't say that much.
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️

He Good and must have been a fan of Paul Kossoff, respect.

such a tiny applause for such an amazing cover...
it's a broadcast, only techs are there

Martin Taper Thanks for your kind words. I’m just an amateur guitarist, but I would like to convey Paul Kossoff ‘s wonderful music.
Thank you x amazing
Wow just love this player 👏
Thanks again. Unforgettable for me.
😊
For a moment, thought it was the real Kossoff, till I looked up. Excellent!
Hyde, Naomi, as ever, fantastic stuff...Al Sim :)
love these comments saying "not bad"- this guy is excellent no question.
Very cool. Organ sounds good with the guitar.
Beautiful sounds!!
lovely sound tribute to koss captured..
Excellent. Like Britain Japan has a factory cranking out guitar playing Gods.
well done, such a shame there's no drummer it would have been epic.
Great rendition!
Nicely done. Don't listen to the nay sayers. The heart of your sound is right on the money.
@59TweedVibrolux In this time, I used VINTAGE PHASE 90 only. In studio work, Koss also was using LESLIE, any kind of FUZZ and booster.
Koss was special 🎶
Beautiful. It's that yearning sound that always flowed out of that lovely little man. Top marks.
Memories of Koss
Great great version!! I lov it
this guy is the best koss type player on you tube
Это удивительно как он поймал то что ушло
Magic
Excellent, Love the tone.
Very good!
素晴らしいです。
すごくいいです。
私もフリーが大好きです。
ポール・コゾフさんのギターも。
歳とるほど好きになりませんか?

excellent, swaing!
Excellent, Love the tone. Please do Molten Gold .
おめでとうございます。 大きい ! 最高の願い、アラン・メリル
Perfect
Nowt like time away but beautiful guitar playing 👍
Kossatonic
Why no drums?
Good effort especially since the original used Koss' white strat, Acoustic Head and Leslie cabs
68 Superbass.
Did Paul play this with the Stratocaster as seemed to be his favour at the time? (Just as nice with a Les Paul.)
Martin Taper Thanks for your comments. As you said, He played Stratocaster and Leslie on this number.
Nice work (but, maybe, too much compression and/or distortion) and feeling.
Very Robin Trower
Thanks. I love Robin Trower, too !!
Except Koss never had a pile of pedals on the floor to get his tones.
You saw Kossoff do it live did you?
sore wa subarashii desu
Slightly more echo than Koss but excellant to hear!
Just for differentiation I guess - he's brilliant, I'd love to hear his own material.
Nice feel ,but way too much hair on the sound ,delay flange etc .....nice in it's own right but sonically worlds apart from Koss. Nobody ever get his wide fast vibrato .
Yeah same with Peter Green's sanity and Fleetwood Mac :(
and a bit too tall! ;)
Too much drive. Sounds too 80's not 70's.

Sorry once again for being 'that internet guy'.
Sounds a LOT like Robin Trower.....Or did Robin cop his sound?
grandissame !🙄
